BUT, FL never cheated on 2ml. even after meeting ML again, she was true to 2ml about everything. she even tried to reconcile their frienship. ML and 2ml's friendship and bonding was literally the core of the series. it was so touching. 2ML broke it off with FL because he Truly loved his friend (ML). he wanted FL to be with ML, not because he thought FL was again falling for ML, she wasn't(she loved 2ml truly), but he broke up for ML's sake, he couldn't stomach the fact he was dating his best friend's girlfriend, a best friend that had to leave them all for inevitable reasons he couldn;t even share. he was feeling guilty. breaking up with FL and regaining his friendship with ML gave him peace
