Omg the actress playing Jiang Li's stepmom is THE Joe Chen!!!! I felt her face looked familiar but I couldn't recognise her immediately in this style. I absolutely love Fated to Love You from 2008 and her other Taiwanese dramas😍😍
The teacher she confronted was so upset he grabbed her shoulder. Hard enough to leave a mark.
In the 1st episode, she visited the school to confront the teacher about his question. When she called him out, he got mad and grabs her by her shoulder.
I'm waiting for a few more episodes to come out before binging it. One question though; I have noticed that the rating is quite low for a drama starring our lovely Zhao Lu Si, started with 7.x something and has stayed 8.0 for a while. Is there any reason for that, like is the story a bit weak or so? Genuinely curious...
The Great Sadness. My favorite drama of 2023, but I will never be able to rewatch. Which is what I always do when…
Agree with you on EVERYTHING. I also rewatch my favorite dramas over and over again, but this one's ending is too traumatising that i cant bear to rewatch the squad being happy and unmatched until ep 34.. although i take the ending as the main leads having survived, overall their last fight was still too painful to watch😭
I just finished this drama 2 days ago and let me just say that I cant stop thinking about it and the ending broke…
I also never thought a drama ending could break me, but this one did. It's affecting me to the extent that i keep thinking about it in my everyday life😭 Before knowing the last episode, i defo would have rewatched it over and over again, but now, with the traumatising ending in mind, I'm hesitant to become more depressed🥹
Liu Yu Nin filming his final scene:https://m.weibo.cn/detail/4980401678060003… might be even more heartbreaking…
Was that during the time when he hurt his leg? he looks rly in pain. the bts is heartbreaking to watch already, the actual scene was traumatizing for me
Can I just say how phenomenal the fight scene against Beipang was, when the exhausted squad worked together with the Emperor Wu and Shi San jumped in the air and aimed at the antagonist's neck? The teamwork, the fight, the choreography with the beautiful OST - execution was TOP NOTCH!!
Exactly my thoughts!!🙌 glad they left the key scenes open for us to believe in this kind of possible ending.…
same here bwaahahaha! Ning would never oppose to his wifey heheheeh it might sound weird, but im so happy about our exchange of thoughts. it makes me feel better after crying so much in the last 6 episodes! thank you so much!
Ngl, everytime I hear the opening song by Liu Yuning now, I am traumatized cuz for me, it is the ultimate death song😈😈😈
The first wuxia I am giving a 10/10. Not only was it a touching journey, it made me feel many emotions from joy to sadness, I laughed and cried (still crying) so much and I know I will keep thinking about this one for a while🥹
The scriptwriters decided to do an open ending and purposely left out key scenes for us to interpret the ending as a good or bad one. For me, not only the concept of a road movie is interesting, I also find a lot of "mirroring" concepts. Let's remember the show started out with Ep 1 with Ning faking his death in order to live in peace and seclusion, and Ruyi also faking her death several times. This pattern keeps repeating throughout the whole show, with their deaths being made so believable that their closest friends or antagonists gasp in surprise when Ning and Ruyi have a comeback haha. It would be a perfect "circle" to fake their deaths in the end as well and live in seclusion as Ning always wished. Also, both of them are way too smart and too scheming, which is why usually their missions are prone to succeed, and even if something unpredictable happens, there's usually a backup plan, as in someone loyal to help them in the worst case scenario. I believe in Ning's words that "only Ruyi can kill him" (why would the writers keep the life saving pill scene otherwise?), and I believe in Ruyi's moving words to Ning in the beginning when he exposed her identity as a White Sparrow: "I don't want to die, I want to live". The "sudden" suicide mindset in the end just doesn't fit her character and vibe of the show, so I think there's a possibility they also had a backup plan for that, like Ning taking the life saving pill and rescuing her last moment and them disappearing after witnessing success in the battle. I choose to believe in a Happy Ending that both Ruyi and Ning deserve, closing the drama in full circle with Ning keeping his promise to her by making beautiful babies together and even having both a boy and a girl like they wanted! I just wish we saw more of their happy moments together, finally living in peace, after going through so much pain and hardships!🥹
Is the end worth all of episodes?I said very YES, since we watch too much "same" ending. And this one is very…
Exactly my thoughts!!🙌 glad they left the key scenes open for us to believe in this kind of possible ending. also, let's remember the show started with Ep 1 with Ning faking his death, and this pattern keeps repeating throughout the whole show, especially regarding Ruyi. It would be a perfect "circle" for them to fake their deaths in the end and live in seclusion as Ning always wished.
If we understand Ruyi’s character at all, we know she’s not about the suicidal life. She will find a way to…
You're right! The suicidal part doesn't fit her character at all. And you reminded me about the beginning of the show when Ning faked his death haha. The 2 of them defo have that part in common hehe
It's 3am and I feel I've balled out my eyes to the extent I can't cry anymore. It has been a while that a drama has made me feel so many emotions. My 2 cents about the ending:
1. Sad ending?: Once I saw Ning getting pierced from all sides and Ruyi bombing herself into suicide, along with "You didn't keep your promise again", "You're gone. It's too lonely for me in this world" with those rewinding flashbacks, I was so frustrated at the scriptwriters. They did a good job with writing the characters well, make them likeable, built momentums with them, letting them escape death several times, just to kill off everyone INCLUDING the main leads? I had to pause several times to process the fact that we will never see them living a happy, secluded life and having a child together?! It felt like they were taking away all the momentums that built the show and not even giving at least the main leads a deserved happy ending. If the ending was only Chu Yue's vision, it might be at least comforting to know that all of them are reunited again in the afterworld.
2. Happy ending?: Thinking about how the story went until up to ep 34, imo, killing off Ruyi and Ning in the end just doesn't quite fit the vibe of the whole flow of the show. Considering the fact that Ruyi managed to fake her "death" several times, or escaping it barely just to come back or them scheming several steps ahead leading to a twist in the story. When the squad turned against Ruyi because they found out about her identity, she almost died, but Ning saved her by giving her half of his inner force. Even the scene where Ruyi's body was "cremated" looked believable at first. We saw Ning's heartbreaking mourning scene, just for him to reunite with her moments later. Surprise! We know that Ning received the only life saving pill, so even though I question how he would've survived such a piercing attack, is it too delusional to believe a miracle could have happened? Maybe he took that pill and escaped death that way, hid somewhere to recover. Ruyi might not have known about it and went onto the suicide mission. We saw the bombs drop, but maybe she got saved last minute by Ning, and they went to a safe place to recuperate, and with the flow of the events, decided to live the secluded life they wished for. The fact that their bodies or deaths were not shown clearly, or the use of the life saving pill, I guess it is up to our imagination. Chu Yue having a detailed conversation with that child Ning Shi San about how his father dotes on his sister Ren Lu, and that his parents are good at making wine and performing sword choreographies, those facts are too coincidental to me to make it "only" an imagination. So, I choose to believe in a happy ending! And it is beautiful to see that they are together as the OT squad, forever and always.
Although the story went downhill with the very rushed ending in the last 6 episodes and the devastating deaths of the squad, I keep my 10/10 rating for this drama, because overall, it was a phenomenal and emotional rollercoaster JOURNEY with great actors and actresses, costumes, music and storyline. It has been a long time that a drama moved me and I will surely think about this show for a while. I wish there was a special episode where it is shown more clearly what actually happened. The main couple suffered so much and I just wish to see them having their happy ending and enjoying their life together.
The Scarlet Guards dropped their swords and be like "b*tch im outta here" the moment they realized they're free like dobby lolol💃💃
Also, the Emperor of An is the only antagonist that has lasted this long in this series, so that I could build up some hate👹 hope that mf will get what he deserves😤
It s giving DOTS and YAMH vibes😍😍 sooo excited!!
Dear cast, make sure to pay your taxes!!!! 🧐😈
