I just had an ideal ending in mind 😂

-SR gets an offer from the Italian restaurant, but turns it down to take over her father's restaurant after she becomes famous with her YT videos, beating the other competition; kind of "mirroring" what those other scammers had done to her father before, claiming that his restaurant would become famous through their vlogs. If SR was the one to save the restaurant with exactly that idea, that would be a nice full circle moment!!

-SR and SH get married and live in the house that SH designed and they now have a child. One day a new family moves in next door, also with a child of the same age. They all greet each other and their children immediately argue. SR and SH look at each other with a knowing look, as if to say "ah, this feels WAY too familiar...."

CUT, END, FULL CIRCLE MOMENT💅😍🤣

I came up with these since the whole drama has countless of those full circle moments, from small to big and all the details are relevant and amazingly written!

Shoutout to the composer of this show. Apart from the main songs, I absolutely love the BGM score, especially the jazzy, calm piano piece. For example, it fit the rooftop scene perfectly when SH was reading and translating the book in French for SR🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷

I don’t think that that’s the morning after, I have a feeling that the parents came back the same night when…
In the preview it looks like the parents came back during the day though bc it looked bright when they opened the door. I hope they could finish their bad things🙈😂

2 AM where i live and I can't stop ugly crying😭😭

The way Hae-in delivered the last 5 min with his microexpressions, eyes and breaking voice was phenomenal. I also like how they picked up the details like Mo-eum noticing how little SR has eaten lately or the flashback when she told CS on the rooftop to never tell him her actual reason, when he realises his own words in a different light now after learning about her condition.

I also like how the writers mirrored the scene of CS finding out about her diagnosis, and she catches him, opposite to when she was reading his love letter, when he came in.

Also, the writers decided to be cruel and added another issue on top of her stomach cancer, and this one was also a theory that many viewers had about her break at work. Poor SR, i just want to give you a BIG hug and tell you that you deserve all the love. It will take CS a lot of time and effort to break down her walls and let her allow herself to trust and lean on someone again.

And ofc, it's VERY ironic that she, in her condition, tells him off about "how can he just suffer alone" when he's sick🤧

Mentally prepared for tmrw already and I'm just hoping that NF will drop ep 10 on time this time!!🥹

Call me crazy but I actually liked the ending scene of ep 8 where she lets go of Seung hyo’s hand and asks Hyunjun…
I found her reaction realistic as well since I assume he was with her during her darkest times in the US when she had no one else. Also she probably didn't want CS to find out like that suddenly.

I also wonder if her ex really kissed someone else or if it was a misleading scene since the writers like to pull that.

I read up on stomach cancer. I don't believe she has relapsed (that would be a Very. Bad. Thing - in fact, basically…
Also, before she ate that popcorn and prepared to cook, when she tied up her hair, she said "why do i feel sick today, i didn't eat anything" i think from then on she started feeling unwell

I can't help but agree with your theory, except unsure of the beginning timeline. The only consolation I get is…
I agree! the drama has very comedic aspects, but the slice of life storylines are super touching - defo rooting for a happy ending for the main characters tho!!❤️

Well, can't prove you wrong but if. . . BIG if. . . she has some sort of illness/disease/chronic condition, then…
you're totally right that his dad is conveniently a doctor haha
thank you for the insight - fingers crossed for a happy end!!

Title Love Next Door Spoiler
I really want to know the real reason behind why she took a year off work
So my theory about her 1 year break and am asking you to prove me wrong, bc I really hate it myself, but I can't stop thinking about it:

At first, I thought it was pregnancy/miscarriage, bullying, work stress.
But now, after EP 6, I find the sudden nose-bleeding VERY suspicious.
So now, my theory is that she was diagnosed with a serious illness and was hospitalised and got treatment (when Chris trashtalked behind her back, he mentioned "poor girl" - why does he sound so pitiful?

So, she might not have much time left, which is why she suddenly wanted to find her dream and come back to Korea to spend the little time she has left with her loved ones (in Ep1, she told Choi Seung that "it was time for her to go back before she didn't have any courage later, discourage bc of what?)

She also has had troubles to give the real reason for giving up her job and cancelling the wedding, for the wedding she even said that "it was her fault". Her ex seemingly cheated on her, but she might have called off the wedding bc of her sickness?

ALSO, the scene in the beginning; Choi Seung wanted to create a "Shelter for Memories in the lobby": When the other lady says "They are all beloved friends and family members"; Choi Seung has a sad expression and replies with "We'd fill the shelter up with things that the departed used to love. So the people who are visiting their loved ones can reminisce. Ofc they'd be sad, but I want their tears to be interspersed with warm smiles, too". Throughout the whole scene, he seems sad and to go through a hard time to me (like a loss?

WHY is he talking like he can relate or is going through it? The writers could've chosen any kind of theme that he could've designed, but WHY something memorial-related? It seems like foreshadowing to me.

Could it be that the scene we saw in the beginning is ACTUALLY the end? Did she die after all and he decided to design the shelter for memories, and dedicating it to her?
When the lady asks him, "How did you come up with this idea?", he gets interrupted before giving his reason bc of the phone call, so never got to hear his thoughts. He won the Award in 2024 right afterwards. Does it mean that In Atelier finally became successful and gained recognition at the end of the show???

Afterwards, the scene cuts to the beginning when she arrives in Korea which starts the whole show.

PLEASE debunk my theory and prove that I am WRONG bc I literally can't think of anything else😭😭
I REALLY dont want another Queen of Tears bc I was emotionally stressed out. I just want a HAPPY ENDING🥹

Loved Ep 5 and the pacing! If it wasn't 2 am here, i wouldve screamed out of excitement for today's episode's…
Actually the title in the end reads as "confession", not "go back to you". I do get that the translator tried to tie it to the title at the beginning, but as always, im not a huge fan of Netflix translations bc they are often inaccurate. The translator should've added at least a note so that viewers who don't speak Korean can understand the actual meaning and cultural background.

In this case, the meaning of the wordplay from 고백 [go-baek] "go back" shifts to 고백/告白 [go-baek]; it's the same spelling but the Chinese characters indicate the actual meaning, which is "(love) confession"😍😊

Kinda ironic that his English isn't really good despite him having grown up in the US😂 when he commented her English, i was thinking he's in no place to judge her
