Yes, he is a passive man, that used to drive YH nuts bc she is the opposite... since the first episode I saw their marriage as a lost cause, not because I'm a divorce supporter (which I'm not) but bc I felt that they were not a good match.
I agree, the comparison between the birds and the song, was just brilliant. Yes, when I saw MM for the first time the bird scene looked to me as it is, DH's will to be free. Like, I can't be free but the birds are free for me (something like that). I like to compare DH with the Monk in various aspects, like DH without his pillars, he would fall but the monk is the only one who broke all his pillars in order to seek hapiness. And Ji An never actually had a pillar to begin with. And they're the only ones that DH wants to really talk to.
I agree with you when you said that YH ended things because he himself couldn't. But I dare to say that he can't let her go not necessarily because he loves her deeply (I mean, he loves her but not the same as before, he relaxed over the years maybe he just appreciates bc they share a eternal bond (kid) and bc they lived together for so many years). I see Dong Hoon exactly like a building (he also refers this for his colleagues when they're walking on the streets), and each person is a pillar (the structure) to DH's building: his mother, his brothers, his friends, his job, his wife. And to destroy the wife pillar would make the building fall off to the ground. So its not 100% sure that he is holding her heart just bc has a emotional reason behind it, IMO its more technical, its an engineering thing.
And yes I really like to see other ppls point of view, but what I like about My Mister, as you said, is the fact that they left some blur in clearness. So I'm always reading different comments and adding, or not, to mine. And sorry for being persistent about the message between DH and Monk, but when I believe in something I just don't drop the bone very easily.
1)The Monk was cruel to Jung Hee at the moment that he left without putting a proper ending at their relationship. And he wasn't only cruel with her, he was with his family and friends as well.
2) But I don't think that he was cruel at all with her going there at the end. Everyone makes mistakes while living, he made his (he is a monk not a saint). But he saw her misery and he also wanted to became a better monk, so he went there to apologize and set her free.
Ps.: I don't know if you ever went through this situation before, where your partner ends the relationship without giving you a proper explanation... I've been there and tell you that to see the one that you love pushing you away so harsly and without even a word, kills you day by day. And in some cases you can't barely move on properly with your love life (and life in general). I've been through the same pain as Jung Hee, and I assure you that we just want to hear the reason and an apology in order to move on peacefully. So no, imo he wasn't cruel to her, he was trying to make amends.
@AnnitsAnn ok, you have your opinion, and I have mine.
"At this point it is easy to assume that he’s talking about forcing Yoon Hee to stay with him…( In the preceding scenes, Dong Hoon overheard Yong Hee talking to Joon Young and telling him that they should just meet because Dong Hoon knows anyway.)
Monk replies: I feel sorry for your heart. If I were you, I’d let it fly away."
No, its not very clear or whatsoever. I know that he already likes JA, but to hit JA in the head has nothing to do with the message that he sent to his monk friend.
As I said before, he is not that type of guy that will drop everything without looking the whole picture. He has his mother that wants to die watching her kids happy with their spouses. His neighborhood expectations as the one and only who succeeded. He can't let Yoon Hee go that easily. He is not a risky boy. He is an Engineer. He can't do anything without measuring the problems or future causes. Can you understand that?
By that, he never said "my heart wants to fly way" he said: I'm forcefully holding on TO a heart that wants to fly way. He is talking about his wife's heart, because she is the one that likes risky movements, and he knows that and feels that she already moved on!!
oh man, he said that he was forcefully holding on to a heart that wanted to fly away. That heart is obviously Yoon Hee's heart. And the monk said that if it was him, he would let it go. Engineer DH and all his being could not end things properly, bc as he said, he stayed with her for 20years and he didn't know how to end things. And by intuition, its pretty clear that YH who call it quits. And he kinda listened to the monk's advice... he never fought for her, he just conscent, like, if you want to be unhappy but married with me ok, and if move to another country and to divorce, I won't stop you either, bc I can't do it myself bc idk how to do it.
And YH knew what was best for both of them, and DH as well he knew it (but he couldn't move his feet of the ground). And they are very different. YH is a woman that likes adventures, risk and so on, DH is the opposite, he is afraid to have his own firm (too much risk) and he is always thinking alot before doing something. So YH knew him, and she wanted to be happy, she was feeling trapped and she knew if she stayed much longer her mother-in-law would find out about the affair and she was too embarrassed for that. So she leaved him, and for him at first was a shock, wasn't in his plans, but he felt relieved afterwards. And he learned from this experience to be a bit like YH, risk more (he opened his own firm), show his emotions more often (smile at JA and asked for a handshake) and he learned that he needed to have friends outside that circle (that new guy from the caffe).
She ends up with her lover (the one who gives her love, protection and allows her to be who she is). And yes, even tho it's a horrible husband, she cheated on him.
Yes, I just came here to add it to my list because I realized I never had and was shocked to see the average rating.…
I feel you. I came here thinking the rate would be like 8.8/9 or something, but that 7.7 KILLS ME every time! "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" is rated as a 9 here on MDL, I somehow feel offended.
the guy is a loan shark, he is a crazy (troubled) person... so he is always following her, invading her privacy,…
Yeah you're right, and well, idk if you've finished (bc I don't want to give you spoilers), but he liked her when they were teens but when she killed his father and at that time he didn't have enough maturity to separate things as murder x self defence, and he wants to make her life hell but at the same time wants to keep her in his life (bc yes, ji an was right, he liked her). Overall, it's a sick relationship that he insists to keep it, but as the director said, he is a lunatic.
why is that guy always following Ji An and invading her privacy?
the guy is a loan shark, he is a crazy (troubled) person... so he is always following her, invading her privacy, doing everything he can do in order to make her life a hell just because she killed his father (self defence, but for him and his twisted mind, is a murder).
Well... I think they put the synopsis here for a reason lol Pls, if you don't like this type of drama just don't…
But why are you so mad? lol
I actually liked your comment (bc allow us to discuss about it)... And I'm not saying that comments should be always positive and if you've watched but didn't liked some things you should say so... I was just saying this to you because I had the impression that you hated EVERYTHING about this drama, so seems to my pov that's a torture for you and bad for your health... seriously tho. And you hated since the beginning so what's the point of watching it? just to say how much you hate it? I think its unnecessary. Reminded me when I watched "mischievous kiss" hated so much that I just dropped it bc I was becoming stressed, I wasn't enjoying it. But ofc... its your pov, I'm not obligating you to behave as I say... What I said was just a tip ;) xx
Well... I think they put the synopsis here for a reason lol
Pls, if you don't like this type of drama just don't watch it instead of forcing yourself. It's bad for your health and you're going to give a low rating for a drama that's indeed an awesome beyond perfect one... and loved by so many.
ending was a big big big problem!i dont talk about happy ending!!!this director in signal & incompelete life making…
But no one is saying that Ji An can change his life. Btw, no one on earth can change the other... You can change your life at the moment that YOU decide to change. If DH changed his it's because HE decided to do so.
And meeting a good person like him made her realize that she needed to change (again, he couldn't change her life, but his good actions made her realize that she needed to), so I don't think that she needed a psychiatrist, she was a good person deep down (if she wasn't she wouldn't take care of her grams the way she did) she just had a bad behavior because life treated her that way.
