Wow, how in the world did I not realize she was married, here I am looking forward to starting this drama and seeing leads' chemistry but heck no, I have no mercy for cheaters lollll probably just gonna skip this one
I wouldn't imply that she had zero responsibility for her own actions. Getting drunk was ill-advised but she should…
Hey there, so sorry for the 15 days late reply!! I'm not sure if I forgot to check my MDL notifications (I haven't been super active here of late) or what. But thanks so much for your kind words and all the drama recs! I'll be sure to check these out and see if there are any that might be for me βΊοΈ

Wow, thanks for taking the time to comment! I'm usually not good at debates/don't enjoy them, but this is an issue I simply can't back down on lol. Never going to find me being okay with someone who's an apologist for victim blaming. I don't think I've ever been applauded for it though, so thanks! It was really a delightful thing to come on MDL and find a pleasant comment instead of the opposite haha.
I also appreciate your insights on these recurring themes in Japanese dramas and frankly it's sad. It would've been lovely if this drama had taken the opportunity to show characters standing up for themselves/each other and what's right for once. And also, to show what actual justice looks like, rather than the slap on the wrist or the alternative truck of doom that wipes out the problem without actual justice for their crime ever happening, lol. But I guess that's probably not going to be happening in J-dramas much for a while.
I also hope to find a better J-drama in the future! I've been told they do exist, haha. For now I've returned to K-dramas, where sexual assault is called sexual assault and victim blaming is simply not okay (at least in all the dramas I've seen) π
Which drama it was ? Just want to be careful before watching π
Are you referring to Glitch? It did indeed say MA on Netflix. And I personally didn't find the bed scene funny. It showed explicit sexual movements, pretty uncomfortable to watch for some of us.
My problems with J-Dramas is that they are literally hit or miss. One of the things that I hate is the lack of…
That's truly frustrating. I haven't watched many J-dramas but it sounds like it unfortunately happens a lot. It definitely was the case in this drama and it drove me a bit crazy lol.
Shouldn't have?Why?Not 'cause of mental health issues....right?
I totally understand your point because a lot of romances are forced and detract from dramas, but at least in the dramas I've seen, there have been *plenty* of platonic relationships between men and women...sometimes between secondary characters, sometimes between a lead and a secondary character, and even sometimes between main leads as well...
I'm at it again and made another music video for the leads^^ *Warning: there are SPOILERS for the ending so watch only after you've seen all episodes! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSxkGsBgCNw
I don't think it's forced at all. It's how love grows between 2 persons when they are not attracted to eachother…
@zee22 @Claddagh So glad to see some intellectuals in the comment section and I agree with all of this! The romance isn't forced at all, even less than most romance dramas lol. It's developed much more slowly, subtly, and realistically.
She only had crush on SML, she didn't love him. If you watch it, you can see how and why FL fell for the ML...
Totally agree that she didn't love SML. She had a crush on him because he was the first guy ever to be nice to her... not a very deep or lasting reason to like someone. I believe she dated him because of that, but the whole time ML was the one who was actually there for her, and after SML was out of the picture, she came to realize that (and even said as much in the drama, lol).
Also leaning to black guy as some sort of douche is real bad character writing on top. Also no way a girl of that…
I didn't get the impression the African American guy was a douche at all?? Honestly sounds like you guys are watching a different drama lol. Cinematography is gorgeous and the plot, although a bit slow in the first episode, is actually pretty good. Sounds like you just want to bash this drama...
Whoaaa I was away from the comment section for a week and it's turned into a zoo, a bunch of people bashing the drama and claiming the romantic arc between leads is forced... like dang, if you don't like it, don't watch. Simple as that. Leave it to those of us who actually appreciate the amazing chemistry between Lee Sang Yeob and Kim So Hye, as well as the beautiful arc the creators gave their characters.
Anyone thinking of trying this drama, please ignore the naysayers, because they have no idea what they're talking about, lol. Of course I can't speak to the ending yet, but after 11 episodes I call it a totally underrated gem! It's my personal favorite drama and couple of 2023, and I think quite a few would agree with me.
