Boxers doesn’t need to be look edgy and rough, that’s one of many reasons why i like her
I agree, that's just stereotyping to say she needs to be rougher. I think she does a fantastic job at all sides, the tough, the cute, the emotional. She's obviously a skilled actress and her chemistry with ML is brilliant. I still hope there's romance between them, otherwise it would be a waste of their chemistry.
Ngl I kinda like that the ML is a prick. At least that makes him interesting and it doesn’t feel predictable…
To me, him being a jerk just means he has potential for a magnificent character arc. We've been shown his motives are complex which makes him 100% more interesting than those MLs who are jerks just for the sake of being jerks, lol. And as far as the romance, I think things will get really complicated as he begins to care about her and I'm looking forward to it. Whether a romantic relationship develops or not, it's going to add new layers of conflicting motives and feelings and if it's written well, it'll be a joy to watch.
Am I really the only one who's really enjoying this and waiting for more??
Definitely not the only one! I admit the first half hour bored me a bit, but once the drama introduced the stakes, I was hooked. Showing ML's soft side helped too, because now we know he's not just the one-dimensional jerk ML we've seen in way too many dramas, lol. Now there are a lot of intense and complex motives and emotions from the characters and I'm looking forward to seeing how it all plays out.
a drama is made for most of watchers..not for minorities... we don’t want cringe contents and silly romance...there…
Putting words in my mouth is a logical fallacy lol. I misunderstood you to mean the dramas were geared toward families, but I now see that wasn't what you meant. My mistake.

I just said I wasn't targeting thrillers at all?? I was referring to ALL genres of dramas being made for Western platforms... they all feel Westernized and unlike the dramas that got me into Korean dramas to begin with.
well this is adapted from the webtoon and it does talk a lot about the effed up korean law system and the webtoon…
That's a good point. I probably used the wrong drama to hold up as an example lol, but I mainly meant that I don't like the direction dramas made for Western platforms are headed.

I've heard quite a few people protesting all the dark k-dramas being released lately. Maybe using this particular drama as an example of the overall direction dramas made for Western streaming platforms are going was a mistake. But my point still stands: dramas that are airing on Netflix and Disney+ feel very Westernized, whether they're thrillers or not.
I'm currently watching 49 Days and Nam Gyu Ri manages to make a character who could be irritating so lovable and charming that I was surfing through her filmography and came across this drama. From the reviews it sounds amazing, I look forward to trying it and seeing her again here!
there isn't even a trailer yet and u got that conclusion already just for the ''title''. be serious.
@YoungSinatra III Actually, I got this conclusion from the synopsis which clearly states ML is a killer, lol. I've also tried many other dramas made for American streaming platforms and they all feel very dark and Westernized. If this drama ends up surprising me with strong moral messages and feels like the old classic K-dramas instead of an American thriller, I'll rest my case.

@duber Are you calling me a minority? Lol. K-dramas were made for Korean people, not a minority. It's the dramas made for Westerners that feel completely different from the original K-dramas that many of us love. They were not cringe and silly, they were warm and heartfelt. And just because these new dramas don't have nudity, that doesn't make them family oriented. The synopsis of Vigilante specifically states ML here is a killer. I don't see what is family oriented about a drama which is focused on a killer, lol.
I knew just from the title that it would be another dark Disney+ or Netflix drama geared toward Westerners lol. For someone like me who's had enough of Western TV, it's disheartening to see so many Western-like dramas popping up in K-drama land... like, if we wanted Western shows, we'd just watch Western shows, and not have to read captions, lol...
I hate love triangles too, especially when one lead has been dating another other persom, because then it always feels rushed as we transition straight from breakup to falling for the lead... so disappointed about this TT
