He’s going along with her mental state, pretty sure he doesn’t know his real identity at this point. He doesn’t call her mom because that will F with her mental state, she’ll be like why tf are you calling me mom and have an episode

I finished the novel a couple weeks ago but I'm going to have to wait for this to finish airing so I can binge it. Don't think I can handle waiting for new eps weekly lol.

lmao I started this because of Sun Ya Li (jingjing's assistant) but wow this is probably better than the other "you are my.." drama which was one of the best shows I've seen.

beautiful relationship and mature/logical thinking characters.

best modern drama couple/relationship since Mi Ka and Xing Ke Lei from "You Are My Hero" imo. no toxicity just solid good romance.

and that "Upside Down" ost is just FIRE.

yiyue and xiaobao carried this drama. nothing too outstanding about the show itself but these two characters are so cute and wholesome.

ha kyung's mom has climbed to the #1 spot in my most disliked character list. I can't stand thirsty parents who pressure their kid(s) to date or get married after a certain age. these are the same overbearing parents that would try to prevent their kids from dating in their younger days too smh.

can you spoil me the last 5 eps? I feel satisfied that the main couple are now "official" and not really motivated to watch the rest lol.

just curious if Yu Cho Hui is lesbian and liked hwa jeong all along, and if hwa jeong is les/bi too (was it the reason for her divorce... if not what was the reason?). sounded like hwa jeong chose her ex husband.. that's disappointing. lastly, who was the mystery lottery winner?

I honestly don't think Yu Jin is that bad. She cheated but she still gave Si Woo a proper break up talk in the end. She has moved on and is trying to work on her new relationship.

Ki Jun though is a piece of work fr. was about to send my laptop out the window seeing ep 9 preview lol.

I dropped this drama around ep 12 or something because I wasn't feeling it and don't plan to pick it back up, just coming back to read spoilers lol.

anyway, I think you can forgive but you should never forget. If it's down along the family lines some distant generations later then maybe it wouldn't matter so much if two people from the two involved families get together. But her being the sole survivor of a family massacre(?), that's a blood feud you can't drop. Even if there's love, just imagine being with someone whose family killed all of your immediate family... then you're going to eat, sleep, and bear children with this person while knowing this fact? your dead father/mother/siblings or whatever will all be rolling in their graves. It would truly be a disgusting and unsatisfactory ending if that were to happen (lmao I keep seeing happy ending comments, please tell me they don't stay together because that's so gross)

he wasn't a "villain" in legend of dugu imo. honestly, his character was powerful and feared but he was never underhanded which eventually caused his death and failure in achieving his goal. the ML in legend of dugu (yang jian) towards the end actually committed all the atrocities Jeremy's character didn't do in order to take the throne (royal genocide, etc). hence why dugu jialuo became cold to yang jian towards the end, she only stayed because she loved him. but even that love was destroyed in the end and she left.

ok, the main leads must have used up all their lips-to-lips contact allowance in that one CPR scene because we got no kiss at all and a bunch of almost kiss blue ball moments for the entire 52 eps lol.

I think we got enough B roll montages and flashbacks to fill like 20 episodes out of the 52. Shangri-La is beautiful but DAMN. The excessive B roll montages and flashbacks started when the trip was nearing Shangri-La and amped it tf up once we were there lol.

I skipped 99% of those repetitive flashbacks and B rolls and really enjoyed the "entire" show. It's a 9.5/10 drama for me. But if I had endured through all those B rolls and flashbacks... I might've gotten burned out and dropped it before even reaching episode 30.

pretty sure they are, I think I remember one of the female kitchen staff addressing them as such "gong gong" or w/e

ngl, it was a blessing in disguised for rong yu to get blown up and disfigured then ended up getting amazing plastic surgery lol.

really fun show but maybe a little too long. felt like they could've trim some repetitive stuff, etc. we didn't need whatever "romance" between rong yao and his female fellow officer either lol, I was so annoyed with her during those parts in the beginning, glad they stopped that shit later on.

they should've had mu qing fall in love with kexin before finding out she is actually rong yu. Instead, it was pretty much a coworker relationship from his perspective, she only reminded him of his "dead" fiance in certain moments and that was it. when he finds out kexin is rong yu.. it was pretty much meh, he had no feelings for kexin but is sort of defaulted into being "in love" with her now because she's actually rong yu.

ending was kinda lacking.

I think either the editing or writing is to blame. From the early eps we can tell she has feelings for him (jealousy, showing concern, etc) but she would always deny it because she couldn't accept herself falling in love with someone who didn't love her back (he was behaving in ways that made her think it was just a business marriage for him and there was no way he loved her, and she believed that facade.)

After they both confessed and made love in ep 21, we understood just that, both of their perspectives and why they acted the way they did towards each other. I think it would have been nice if from that point on if they were "Us against the world" but yet again we were thrown back into the hamster wheel. the cycle of him purposely pushing her away to "protect" her over and over again and it was maddening.

but regardless I do think she really loved him. she told him a few times whenever he would do his "self-sacrifice" acts of distancing himself from her to "protect" her that she would kill herself too if he ever died doing what he did. he never listens though and kept doing them. In the end the only reason she didn't kill herself from the pain of his death was because she had to raise their child. she never moved on from him but had to pretend to forget him to dull the pain and continue to live for their child.

the cover art made me watch this (again?), I'm pretty sure this was my second attempt at it lol. I really hate chinese republican era storylines. once again, I only managed to fully watch until the low teens then skipping to just the ml/fl scenes, then skipped straight to the last ep after ep 25.

I just wanted to see ml and fl moments but there were so few given the 50 eps count. a love story that was hijacked by republican era politics and whatever else I didn't care about.

their plot armors are cut from the same cloth I think lol. little maids doing whatever tf they want that would result in heads rolling if done by anybody else.
