the threat to set fire was a bluff (but with serious intention, she's trying to escape ffs). she knew he wasn't gonna step forward and have her set fire on him.

the stabbing is not over dramatized at all. he asked her to stab him with THE DAGGER, she didn't want to kill him and said the feud was over and attempted to WALK AWAY. he stops her and asked about CJ and LMT. (we're dealing with nuances here, first walk away was for LW and lord huaiyang). the stab with the hairpin is to say CJ and LMT is over too and it had to be done for CJ to know she's serious that they can't be together.

"brain firing on all cylinders" was meant to be a silly comment to ask you to think about it on a deeper level. sorry if you got offended but it seems you're still unable to analyze what's happening properly. it's not about me liking the scene of not, it absolutely makes sense and was fantastically done.

when you battle an enemy, you come to respect their skills. intellect, etc. that's essentially what that is. I think you're reading too much into the "archnemesis" namesake. LW was his target he had to take down and it was just that.
