Now it's rumored for Song Zu'er + "male lead, who exceeds her in status." And since people are dubious that this drama can attract any high-profile actor other than ZSTC's own Luo Yunxi, the rumors are back in.

The character himself might be a good fit for LYX, but the main issue is that the character is based on a specific actor—and the book’s fans mostly overlap with that actor’s fanbase. If anyone other than the original inspiration takes on the role, they’ll have to deal with backlash from the book’s fans.

The revolving door of “rumored leads” that’s been going on for years already makes it seem like the IP holders are actively trying to distance the novel from that original actor, hoping to make it less toxic for someone else to pick up. But so far it doesn't look like they have succeeded.

Nah, seems more like April Fool's joke. I think they are running out of "rumored leads" in their never-ending attempts to hype up this project. Xiao Zhan, Cheng Yi, Zhang Linghe, Wang Xingyue, Li Yunrui, Ding Yuxi... every month or two you get a new name 😂

Luo Yunxi, Xiao Shun Yao, Ao Ziyi, and Fang Yilun will b recording a variety show together on March 4th. Seems like it will be Tencent's new show "I Smile When I See You" (一见你就笑).

Nothing unusual, he tends to take at least 3-4 month breaks between shoots nowadays (his latest drama had finished filming only in december).

Also heard the same Q3 launch rumors about Dao Gui Yi Xian launch. Though it's still unclear who will be the lead - Zhang Ruoyun gets mentioned in those rumors as often as Luo Yunxi.

With 99.99999% probability this project has nothing to do with LYX. For one thing, it's a FL-centric drama, and the ML is a young general.
Seems like one of those rumors, where the drama's marketing team just tries to attach as many famous names to the news as they can for that sweet-sweet social media buzz (so far they also "dinged" Chen Feiyu, Cheng Lei, Li Yunrui, Xiao Zhan, Dilireba, Ju Jingyi, Deng Wei, Song Zuer, Ding Yuxi and who knows whom else).

The rumors of 道诡异仙/DaoGuiYiXian resurfaced again (the supernatural\horror novel about the guy who's slipping between the real world and the ghost world).
That's something i would absolutely love to see, but at the same time - how on earth would they get a plot like that past Chinese censors?
