The plot synopsis sounds cool, but it's highly unlikely that a story like that can get through the Chinese censorship (unless they butcher it with yet another nonsensical "it's all just the videogame" twist or something like that).

It will mostly depend on how quickly they can get through the censorship review. Police dramas tend to be scrutinized quite thoroughly, so there’s no guarantee it will pass on the first try.

The date of the twitter post from the link above is Oct 14, 2024. And this rumor has never taken off on the Chinese social media, hence no need to refute.
Anyway, let's give it some time and see what their new projects will be.

It's unlikely to be Ren Min, the source of that rumor was just some douban post made by her hater, to stir up trouble. But we'll see soon enough anyway.

As for "why they are doing this" - most likely, it's just the usual trick to get free publicity for the IP. Even though no one is taking the rumor seriously, they are talking about it anyway.

And also, it's an IP that belongs to Tangren. No way they will hire actors from other agencies instead of their own.

And don't get too excited, it's most likely just a short cameo, since Li Fei filmed only for one or two days.

In the official post, they have mentioned the same event where LYX is participating on Sept 17th in Bangkok, so it's very likely him.

1) No love triangle.
2) I'd say, things start getting properly romantic somewhere around episode 16 (their first fake marriage happens in the episode 6, but they are just friends at that point). The second, proper, marriage happens in e26.
3) There are no breakups per se, but they do separate for a few episodes in the penultimate arc (ML has to leave the capital in e27, but FL chases after him and finds him in e30). And two shorter separations near the finale (of the usual "I have to leave you for your own good" kind), but those don't last.
