I am a big xianxia fanatic. Not really into office romance but school/youth ones are fine for me. I love the elaborate traditional hanfus and find it sooo aesthetic and the enduring love across lifetimes really tugs at my heartstrings.
I agree with you that I am picky too. I'm happy with this pairing. but sometimes for other dramas it feels off to me so even if I like both leads individually, I won't pick it up or drop it before ep 5 bc I don't feel the chemistry enough

Deng Wei's visuals in Till the End of the Moon (2023) as Xiao Lin/Sang You/Gong Ye Ji Wu is unparalleled. I sometimes hoped he was male lead. His features remind me of Joshua Hong (idol member of Seventeen, Korean-American).
But I think they should update his profile pic here. I had to do a double take cuz I was so used to him in traditional style/long hair image.

Where I first saw the actors:
- Cheng Yi: Immortal Samsara - oh my goodness I love him so much he is husband material. my ideal guy for marriage I swear his future wife would be so lucky omg heart eyes. I have yet to watch Love and Redemption, people would always comment something along the lines of 'ahhh, Si Feng~'

- Bai Lu: (1) Jiu Liu Overlord - paused at ep 5 will def come back. (2) Till the End of the Moon - currently watching and we have 4 eps left omg my sepanx is incoming >~< I love her so much she's so talented and pretty--the more you stare at her face, the more you like her beauty it doesn't get tiring. I hope for a happy ending so much. (3) Love is Sweet - concurrently started with TTEOTM. paused at ep 4 cuz I hyper focused on TTEOTM cuz I'm a historical/xianxia fanatic lol. Would def come back for IF we get a sad/open ending I can think they reincarnated into Yuan Shuai & Jiang Jun. It's kinda slow burn.

- Li Hong Yi: (1) Love better than Immortality: I love love love his bad boy image omg that is so hot of him I needed to eat buckets of ice cream to cool down. his character is so feisty in such a good way. I love his gaze too. I have yet to see his more recent works Wulin Heroes and Blood of Youth.

In conclusion: I am SAUR exciteddddt !!1!!1!11! for this <3

Cheng Yi and Li Hong Yi look soooo alike I've seen them in Immortal Samsara and Love Better than Immortality that I had to pause and look them up to compare side by side to see they're not the same guy. But both really gave me the butterflies in my stomach. I am sooo excited for it!

I tried to concurrently watch Love is Sweet with this but I haven't gone back to it after ep 4. I'm a historical/xianxia fanatic but I'll come back to it again after this ends. Cuz IF it's a sad/open ending, I could think they reincarnated into Love is Sweet. LOL.
I'm in USA and Netflix doesn't have it slated here.Hopefully in the future.

There's a 2FL and she tries in all arcs: mortal, and dream but fails every time. Not exactly love triangle bc our ML is truly madly deeply in love with our FL

I never really thought of the life cycle of costumes in historical genre. Cuz modern/office/school genre is easy to reuse.

I was expecting fluff and lovey dovey cutesy scenes
but now I've grown accustomed to the pain

if TTJ doesn't get a happy ending, these writers are really doing a great job in bringing about my villain origin story

WE need this Demon arc. WE is ME. I remember a similar scene like this in the earlier episodes in the ship where YXW disguised as a performer. Ahhh, we were robbed. It's all feeling so rushed at this point.

With her rumored bf Zhang Ling He as the ML (his other work was LBFAD as God of War Chang Heng). I think the agencies denied it tho.
I'll watch it once it airs but for now I think I'm debating my options on where to go after this drama ends: Starry Love or Back from the Brink or Blood of Youth or even Wulin Heroes
