The female lead's acting (and even her smile) is captivating. She knows how to work her character. I'm a girl, and the male lead is handsome and cute and all haha but the female lead is really bringing so much positive impact to me in this drama. Both are so cute portraying their characters and its not everyday i giggle to something this sweet but wtaching them, really makes me smile and makes me remember my teen-life and that friendship, bond, and crush that I had. Sigh, it's a high school drama thus I knew it will end that way. Thats the reality. Loved this drama 9-9.5 for me. BTW, I dont know why some are having a second lead syndrome, haha the main leads are really cute and have so much chemistry that I never bothered with the scond male lead. Er Tao has even more impact to him in acting department and presence, lol, not hating just stating opinions.
Considering 90% of kdramas are trash and samey Life on Mars is a breath of fresh air
Maybe you have no seen more than enough, but me? I have seen so much, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and I can truly say, this drama is not a breathe of fresh air. It was stretched, and you can really see the haggardness of the actors, they're all seem tired, idk. Anyways its not a bad but not that great as what most of its fans make it out to be. Its 8/10 for me. And its my opinion guys, stop coming at me like I hit your feelings by my statement. We have our own standards.
it was okay but overrated here in mydramalist. I mean come on guys, 9.1? really? so many better shows to rate higher than this. The story lacks depth tbh.
who is the artist playing Yan Yue, the one with green custome, that guy who comes from the water, the friend of Yangzi whom she owned hundreds of prowess, anyone knows him? JHe is not on the cast list btw, thanks/
the story is so-so. The cinematography though is great but with this kind of story bestfriend-knows-better types of movies, there are far better plot and storylines which you can watch. This one lacks emotion, maybe because the leads are too young?idk 7/10
I have a huge question. In episode 1 how in the world did the kid know that the mother threw herself in the well?…
The kid knew because, of course, this is what we call a DRAMA. Welcome to dramaland where you just have to accept and ignore some details and loopholes, lol
For me Shawn Dou stole the show. It would have been even more irritating without him and his character’s development.…
Yes, side to side comparison in terms of acting and screen command, Shawn Dou wins, especially in looks department. I wouldn't like the drama if it weren't for him.
The story could have been better if it was all set in the historical set up I believe.
Also, I dont know if its just me but I think the drama isn't a grand scale drama, like most chinese dramas starring a well known star, you can see it has a very limited budget from the set up and the very simple back drops and castings. I dont know why Victoria hops on in this kind of drama but well, good thing is it has made her a hot search actress even made it to top 3 search in Vlinkage. I really cant get the "LOW, SEEMINGLY MONOCHROMATIC TONE" of the drama. Victoria;s very low tone acting, even if she is angry, surprise, sad, happy, its all LOOWWW TONE and her voice is SOO SMALL like I dont know how to describe it. Johnny Huang is the same, his acting is really weird, not really in a bad way but his acting is really of LOW TONE, buahaha I dont know how to put in the rights. His facial expressions, even if he is angry, jealous, surprise, mad, theres very minimal reaction and acting you can see from him. I dont like the way the voice acting and tone of Victoria and Johonny Huangs acting lol. The drama is low budgeted but they lucked out. The story is good but dull at the same time. It lacks life, yes thats it. The story lacks life coming from their main stars. Sigh, next time if there is season 2, cant they have it filmed in China? or maybe they could choose a better location, better costumes, and more settings?
Im really confused atm, can someone enlighten me if Ethan Ruan is a fake prince or not? It seems that he is really a true blooded royalty but who was that guy Yang Mi saved?
My first drama with him was God's Gift 14 Days, and he was fantastic their, that drama is one of my highly recommended dramas among peers. I really liked him in that drama and since then, I started watching his other works. Stranger aka Secret of Forest though a little bit dark, serious and more mature, that drama is definitely well crafted and he shined even more, love him and bae doona's chemistry in it. Tried Horse Doctor but I dont think I can sit through that drama with a long number of episodes and felt like I wont enjoy the plot, lol. I liked it more if he's a badass character.
On movies, Inside Men is a great movie. I love the drama and to think I watched the un-cut version, the much longer version of the movie. It has its depths, the story, the leads and their awesome acting. Also I didn't knew he was in The Classic. That movie all along I thought there was only Son Yejin and Jo Insung. I knew there was this other guy in the story but didn't cared about him in that movie. lol. Perhaps because, I didn't knew the rave about that movie. I find it boring and didnt quite liked it back then. Maybe because I was really young at that time and couldn't understand the things they portray in the movie.
BTW, as I never realized he was in the movie Love Phobia. I watched it soo long ago and I liked it before. I really remembered how I adre the male lead because of his cuteness and charming smile while watching that movie. And just recently found out that it was him, that guy whom I fell in love years back with that movie, mwahhahaha. If not for Gods Gift 14Days, I wouldnn't come across for him AGAIN :)
So far its good, not expecting it but surprisingly, you'll be wanting more and more of it. Liking Jhonny Huang, my first drama with him as well as with Victoria. Their chemistry is soo on point.
its good, really. and Haruto is cute, handsome, and definitely knows how to act, just a bit push more. He is owning his character. I cant say about the lead girl, she is good in a way but I wish her hair isn't that oily.lol

My rating is 7.
