I just watched the first episode and I like the pace, it is slow, but I like watching the cinematography in every scene. The first episode gave me a brief understand of our lead and why she feels hollow inside, which I like. I'm going to stick around :)
I saw the OW/YM tag and wanted to pick this up (need to fill the hole Chuugakusei Nikki has left in my heart) but the majority of comments under are saying that the drama is very slow. I'm okay with slow pace if there's a genuine development but the drama is being criticized for that too. Lol, I don't know what I should do.
This is seriously breaking my heart. This probably will be the last time we all will interact on this thread. This drama has been a roller-coaster and has become one of my favorites. I will truly miss waiting in anticipation for new episodes and literally lurking around on this thread for interaction or to get any updates for this show. And I agree with you as I remember that initially KJW had been granted permission but as the story progressed and like you said, he didn't really have much time to ask for prior permission so he performed the exorcisms anyway. So, it made me wonder about the consequences of his actions and how these things work exactly in a religious institution. P.S Which episode are you currently on? I've completed the 14th Episode last night and am preparing my heart for the denouement.
Love, I feel you on a spiritual level and even more so because I've got my finals until next week and I can't seem to keep my hands off this drama (I should be studying but here I am typing this long ass comment). I find myself logging into MDL just to check up on the smallest of developments through the comments and we have such an amazing community on CSN's MDL! Everyone is so proactive and engaging, posting about interviews, show updates, social media updates and so much more! I myself made an MDL account just for this show and I can't believe that someone who never used to participate in threads is so active for just one drama.
OP, I think you should also mention the actual definition of Pedophilia (sexual attraction towards prepubescent kids, ie, kids who haven't hit puberty, ie, 12 years or below) so that people don't wrongly brandish this drama as something that 'glorifies' or 'romanticizes' a mental disorder. Pedophilia becomes a crime only when acted upon. People should get the definitions right before criticizing something. I added this bit in because the drama initially received a lot of flak for the same. EDIT: The other issues w.r.t student-teacher relationship which is against professional codes and may result in a teacher getting barred and/or engaging in consensual or non-consensual sexual intercourse with a minor is an actual crime. This drama does challenge the former issue while the latter is non-applicable (so far; EP 8) as the relationship between the two characters has been platonic.
Reversed perspective. Maybe their own culture doesn't have the appeal to drive an entire drama yet, in their eyes?…

I am not religious so I have no idea about the rules a religion follows but from what I've seen in movies (like Conjuring/Exorcism of Emily Rose) don't the Priests have to get permission from the Vatican before performing exorcisms? I've seen them document paranormal incidents as proof to get the permission from the Vatican or whichever higher body there is but in the drama "The Guest" our boy, KJW, went on performing exorcisms as if he was passing candies on the street. So, just wanted to know how it works since I know in S.Korea there's large community of Christians/Catholics among Buddhists.

While it's true that months later people will pop in and not every comment can be monitored. The logic is that the spoiler tag is there for a reason and since the drama is airing presently, we can always exercise caution. One may express what they want in a vague/clear way in one sentence or a paragraph w.r.t to the contents of an episode, that's their choice, but we can always be considerate of others. In the end it's upto us.

It's not about one word or three, the fact of the matter is that we're not the only ones watching the series, there are newcomers and those who haven't seen the new episodes. So, for those people, many users on this thread here, myself included (back when I was proactive) use the spoiler tag while literally saying 'anything' about the new episodes.
