KSG and YDJ are one of my favorite K-drama couples. I first saw them in Splash Splash Love, where their chemistry was off the charts, and I’ve wanted to see them act together in a full drama ever since. While The Catstody War is just a TV special, it tells a well-crafted story about marriage, sacrifice, and compromise born out of love.
I have been thinking about how to phrase it so as not to spoil anyone, and this is the best and worst way I can simplify the synopsis:
This is the story of Kang Young Hwa, a college student, who has been having strange dreams since her childhood about a man out for vengeance, Min-Oh (her childhood crush and college mate), Jun-Oh (Min-Oh's younger brother), and Do-Ha (who he is, is spoiler territory). Jun-Oh is a sickly high school student who dies due to an unfortunate incident but "miraculously" comes back to life; however, there's something strange about him. Kang Young Hwa soon realises that Jun-Oh's personality change and her dreams are interrelated, and there's more to their connection than what meets the eye. This is a bittersweet tale set in both the modern and Joseon eras, gradually revealing who's who, what their relationship to one another is, and what happened in the past that now looms over everyone's present and future.
낮에 뜨는 달 is one of my most loved manhwas and I can't believe that this is getting adapted into a drama. "A man whose time has stopped and a woman who flows like a river" is the best description for this story, but we only realise this when the truth is unveiled. Honestly, only a few stories have made me cry and this is one of them. So, do give it a read, it's such a beautiful story: https://series.naver.com/comic/detail.series?productNo=2193978
Lastly, as the tags above don't cover all genres, I am throwing out them here: Reincarnation, Supernatural, Tragedy, Drama, Mystery, Romance, Historical, Politics, Unrequited love.
So, prepare your hearts, guys, because this is going to be a rough ride.
