I personally really enjoyed this one but I haven't watched that many Light On series.About the rating, I wouldn't…
Thanks for the response. I didn't know about Bai Jing Ting's popularity. That explains the higher viewer amount. Very true that the ratings of Light On dramas deserve to be much higher in general and that this drama's rating is well deserved from that perspective. Personally I tend to look forward to veteran actors performances the most (as they're frequently simply stunning).
I do agree with you in some degree. I also think is a matter of taste and how many similar dramas you have seen…
I agree it's also a matter of taste. The Long Season ending was very touching, imo. Great drama. I also enjoyed Thirteen Years of Dust and Let Wind Goes By immensely. I did enjoy even The Pavilion, and Crimson River quite a lot actually (I don't mind the low ratings), actually even more than Justifiable Defense.
It's a mystery to me why this drama is so highly rated and popular compared to the earlier Light On series dramas that are way more ambitious (and mostly rated 7.5 max with under 500 viewers). This is just an okay drama which is kind of lost in repetition. Circling around the question of how to define and measure what counts as justified defense. This is 7.0 max to me. I'm currently watching Tender Light, which is arthouse level and a masterpiece. If anyone is curious of what the heck I'm talking about, I made a list: https://kisskh.at/list/Lp6QvXR4
Anyone make clips of Go Jun yet? The sightings are too few.

One of those dramas that I realized half-way through was just not made for me. While I enjoyed watching SWL and…
agree on all points. I did enjoy the drama though, it had its good moments so I kept watching despite those cringey storylines and characters: the split personality storyline, FL acting like a 15 year old, (adult man romancing a teenager just felt weird), Mr. Kun who has supposed to be a comical relief sidekick but wasn't, Leopard being in the cringiest villainess Top 3, ML backstory in Heisha, and a lot more. I gave it a generous 7.5. nevertheless.
So, i blocked this user that keep harrassing me with other accounts(3) and now even with the account i blocked.https://ibb.co/gZL62Pgskisskh…
That one is and always has been the queen of user warfare. That she admits here ("I seem always to end up in fights"). I saw this very clearly in the Love Next Door page. It was awful. Only thing to do is to block, block, block. All the evelyns, faiths and sallys are alt accounts of the same user or users. Unfortunately lots of profiles to block, but that's MDL for you. Don't loose the motivation to discuss. Here pettiness can't be avoided. So it's best just not to engage with users who you don't like or agree with.
Did anyone else find episode 8 boring and had to skip lots of scenes?
yes, it was. Also ep 7 was boring. I was disappointed at the return of the other prince (villain), he makes the drama stressful. I was enjoying this a lot during the first 6 eps
Anyone who watches this drama and likes it should give it a rating, because someone is insisting on lowering the…
Ratings don't matter. Best dramas that I've seen (Chinese) are always below 8.0. It's okay for a drama to appeal to a mature or a niche audience. Most people here are under 20.
So they're still at school. Didn't expect that, as the actors are adults. Based on 30 mins it seems to carry all the school drama tropes - bullying, petty competition. Boring, not for me.
I've wanted to see something similar to Parallel World for a long time and this is it! Not as good but a real adventure drama nevertheless. I don't like the FL's childish voice and expressions, she comes across as 15 years old instead of 25 years old. Luo Ren is so much more mature that the romance is not really credible to me. But who am I to say, maybe this FL type is an ideal type to many. But I already know the adventure will just get better towards the end (I'm currently at ep 9) as Chinese dramas always involve gradual turning of the screw. I don't care that this is almost hilariously not credible at times, am still on board.
This is very gripping and good. But not extraordinary or arthouse level like many of the best dramas in the Light On series. And less interesting characters than we're accustomed to in Light On dramas. I'd still recommend for friends murder and police investigation dramas. I'm at ep 13 currently. I like Cheng Tai Shen's acting the most.
