I was just going to comment that this drama has potential and is fun and hope it turns good and Im coming here…
Who's abnormal: one who expresses their sincere critical opinion or the one who wants to censor others opinions. Learn to respect other people and don't make assumptions about their mental state if they do not agree with you.
On The Matchmakers Nov 7, 2023
Everyone. This a comment section where everyone is allowed to comment. Criticism and praise are both welcome. This is not a fansite. Consider before bashing "negativity" or "haters". Calling people haters is babytalk. Just let everyone share their experiences pls. I might not like someone's opinion but I will fight for their right to express it. Enough of the censorship attempts.

I just want to add that Page Turner is very good indeed. I Hear Your Voice is as good While You Were Sleeping. Dream High is also surprisingly good (I didn't expect it to be).

She is that good. Really. Pinocchio is very good, I liked it even more than While You Were Sleeping. The journalism ethics topic is very interesting in Pinocchio.

I get what you're trying to do with the historical context, and it is important to know it, but you can't really…
I don't agree with you at all. This a chance to for me learn about the history. Not imposing my ideas on anyone though so pls just leave it. I don't like it when someone writes a comment on this drama, there's a league of holier-than-thous who come at them. Whenever someone says a original commenter was wrong (even if I think they're wrong) I block the attacker and not the original commenter.

Title Blind
Quite good, solid mystery drama. Although not anything particularly exciting or novel. I didn't find it boring or draggy at all. Ending is satisfactory. There are some big plot holes but I'd still recommend. The brothers' relationship is the most touching part. Ok Taecyeon and Ha Seok Jin are great in their roles. 8.5/10.

Not everyone wants a happy ending. It's a very bad idea to start changing a drama for just pleasing the audience. Happy ending would be totally out of line considering what has been going on. Their inability to communicate and sheer cruelty toward each other makes the drama very frustrating. The historical events are quite close to real events and make the drama interesting, not everyone is watching just bc of the romance.

Interesting.Based on your description maybe that's why gilchae gave him a reason when she said she gave her heart…
the women taken to Qing were considered ruined. The husband is not any different from other men in that era. Having concubines was normal. Wives were owned by their husbands so the decision is not hers to make.

is this worth watching? i watched ep 1 and wasn't really hooked, so i wonder if it's worth continuing it considering…
It gets going in ep 3. It's worth watching, imo.

I'm loving this. Not a boring moment so far. Both ML and FL are top tier actors, it's just very enjoyable to watch them. It seems this will not have those annoying filler characters that ruined Destined With You.

it’s just how it was during those period..she’s even stronger than most females back then..
Yes indeed. Mingi is my bias. The most cool and charismatic man!

Do anyone know this type of drama, strong female lead and male leads unchanging love? Its not have to be kdrama.
The Red Sleeve (but you probably already saw that). Jang Ok Jeong also, but it is a more traditional k-drama.

why this suddenly so frustrating to watch. Can’t the FL do something or fight for what she wants instead of…
Women were owned by their husbands.
On My Dearest Part 2 Nov 2, 2023
Some historical context: in Joseon, women could not divorce their husbands. Husbands could divorce their wives but only for legitimate reasons (e.g. adultery). The government and king were the ones to decide whether nobility were allowed to divorce the wives who had returned from Qing. But captain Gu is not nobility so he might be allowed a divorce. Anyways, this article explains the tragic fate of the women taken to Qing. "Many women were lucky enough to be repatriated to their hometowns after a ransom was paid. But their joy was short-lived because they were stigmatized as spoiled. Married women from the noble class were not allowed to reunite with their husbands." https://koreajoongangdaily.joins.com/2010/12/29/fountain/The-tragic-fate-of-Joseon-women/2930274.html

The series follows real history pretty closely so it's possible to read into what happened to women who were taken to Qing. The husband is not a bad person bc his ideas are the ideas of the people of that era (and not this era we're living now).

Every woman who had been taken to Qing was considered ruined and either sent back or forced to hide the fact. The husband was exceptionally decent in offering to taken her back. People should pay more attention to the actual historical context. Remember how much the scholars despise the king for succumbing to barbarians, they really considered this ruining and debasing their culture. Major trauma.
