I watched it on HiTV, and they have English subs!!https://www.hitv.vip/series/double-exposure?frm=home&frmnav=wn_Tbft1HPsMI37ep88U43Z&frmblk=wm_f3qtdJ7fuEyoJzmEsgFo
This drama unfortunately suffers from poor writing. It wasn't too bad for the first couple episodes but then I started to realise nothing was actually happening... the character developments/characterisation were always told via exposition and never actually shown, which for me made emotional moments (both sad and happy) feel unwarranted or undeserved. The dialogue was also weirdly paced at times with pauses that were a little too long for the conversation to feel natural. I do think the lead actors had good chemistry and acted okay, but the writing and execution needed work. I was so bored by the end, I completely fast forwarded through the last episode.
An okay gore film. Acting by the younger cast is good, but it was just okay overall. The storyline itself sounding interesting on paper but the execution is pretty meh.
I'm sorry but... I hated the writing, hated the characters, hated the direction, hated the acting and hated the…
I'm back lol. The movie did not answer my questions relating to Day and Itt (movie is mostly about Gear and Night), but it does do somewhat of a better job at telling the story than this drama. Still problematic (and triggering) content though.
So, I watched the movie simply to get a better understanding of why tf Itt and Day even end up in a relationship and... I still don't know... This movie focuses more on Night and Gear. Despite the obviously problematic content, this movie probably is the best out of the 3 when it comes to the storytelling. The actors are also an improvement. However, it still isn't the best movie.
ALSO. I didn't realise there's a whole universe for these characters lofl. Didnt realise the characters Day and Itt also appear in Unforgotten Night. Anyway, didn't like that drama either 😅 lol. Does anyone know if any other movies or dramas are connected to this? I'm about to hate watch all of it at this point lol.
I'm sorry but... I hated the writing, hated the characters, hated the direction, hated the acting and hated the editing. I struggled to watch this... if I wasn't cringing at how bad something was, then I was bored. The only good thing was the actor Kokliang who delivered flawlessly on every line and probably was the only one who had a decent character and lines. After the first 3 episodes, I thought that maybe it was one of those dramas that is so bad it's good... no. The longer I watched, the more infuriated I became. Funny enough, my morbid curiosity has me actually contemplating watching the movie...
An okay movie. It had potential but the execution of the plot was a little lackluster. Unfortunately this movie needed better writing and more dialogue. I'm a fan of Riku's other work lol but the acting overall was just okay. Though I felt the dad's boyfriend was pretty good throughout.
This is a good drama. At first I wasn't sure about it because I really couldn't understand exactly what they were…
I also just want to say that this drama does kinda walk a thin line of being too much for the male gaze. Which also didn't help me with understanding what they were really trying to say about women at first.
This is a good drama. At first I wasn't sure about it because I really couldn't understand exactly what they were trying to say about women particularly after the episode that dealt with the "feminist" woman and her trauma. But the show redeemed itself with how beautifully and respectfully it handled the its trans character and her story (though I'm not trans so I can't exactly say if it was great representation of a trans person). Each episode did feel progressively better after that episode. I just think this drama needed longer episodes because some of these topics needed just a little more depth to fully get the message across. But overall, this drama is visually beautiful, the cast are amazing - great acting all around, and I appreciate the attempt at exploring sides of women that don't get to be seen or are stigmatized.
simple and sweet. this was a very quick, easy and cute watch. some of the dialogue is intriguing, however it doesn't go too deep. the chemistry and acting was very good, the plot isn't that complex but, like I said, the dialogue is intriguing and it is very relatable. a good drama.
If you enjoyed this drama, or even if you didn't enjoy this drama, I highly recommend reading the manga. The manga has so much beautifully done nuances that further deepens the story and the characters. Truly beautifully written. This drama is a pretty good adaptation, but it does lack some of the subtle nauces and intricacies that really give depth the the overall story. However, I think the cast is amazing. Sawamura was probably the weakest performance, though not bad, just didn't feel as natural as the rest of the cast. But I'm sure with more experience he will become amazing! Overall, I did enjoy this drama.
This drama has a lot of potential. The acting was amazing across the board! As far as the story, it was pretty shallow. I'm sure if the episodes were longer we probably would've gotten a more in-depth storyline and better character development for the main characters. But overall an okay watch. The acting is pretty much the only thing that really kept me interested.
This was a decent drama. I was wondering what kind of commentary they were trying to make regarding the male lead character and I understood where they were going by the end. I thought the ending was pretty satisfying for most of the characters (Though I do not get where they were going with the child at the end 😬). My biggest issue with this drama however is that it missed so many opportunities to go even deeper with the dialogues to really hit home the overall messages. Despite a lot of this drama centering around the male lead character, I still felt like I didn't understand enough about him - he felt the most surface level. But it's not a bad drama but it's also not one of the better dramas. However the supporting cast really are stand outs with their performances. It's a pretty okay drama.
tbf it was based on a bl manga, and a lot of those have some 'questionable' elements (tho i imagine most don't…
oh yeah, there's definitely BL manga with more appropriate age gaps. I really don't get why those don't get adapted. but again, the age difference didn't really have any impact on the plot so they really could've changed it and it wouldn't have changed single thing about this storyline.
I didn't hate this drama. I feel like it had sooo much potential. I absolutely love the concept but as far as…
Update: I've seen the anime. OMG it is extremely good! Definitely recommend watching the anime. It truly captured everything that the drama was unfortunately missing to be really great.
Well... this had great potential but fell very flat for me. Mostly thanks to more technical issues. For instance, I personally feel like the editing and directing was pretty poor. Horrible continuity in some scenes and scenes that felt too long and definitely could've been cut down some. I did enjoy the chemistry between the two leads actors, probably the only thing that kept me watching. The plot, was simple, which I don't mind, but a simple plot means that the dialogue should be exceptional and the dialogue between characters in this drama was okay, nothing special. Overall, it's an okay watch. Not the best but not the worst I've seen. I'll still look forward to seeing the two leads in other projects.
Re-watching this after so many years. This is just a fun watch. So many fun and funny moments. Peak Japanese humour. A great show to watch if you need a good laugh and escape. As far as story and characterisation, there isn't much progression from the drama, in fact it kinda regresses for a little bit. But the actors are all still great to watch.
This is okay. A simple watch, something cute to watch to pass time. Plot is bare bones basic, there wasn't much to look forward to as far as plot or character development. I'm probably not gonna remember this movie a couple days from now, to be honest. However, I do think the lead actors were very good and enjoyable to watch. Overall, it's not bad movie, it's just very basic. And will make you very hungry lol.
It's been a little while since I've felt this way watching a drama - I absolutely fell in love with this. I don't…
I will say, that I personally do feel like episodes 8 and 9 did not evoke as much emotion from me compared to the other episodes. Especially considering they followed episode 7, which was honestly one of the best episodes in the series, in my opinion. The episodes didn't really progress the story much which made it feel like everything just came to a sudden stop. But it didn't take away from the characters which is important and still why I rate it highly because episode 10 was a great end!
