This is an okay drama. Doesn't stand out much for me as far as story or production. The two main actors do have great chemistry in this. But the most memorable thing about this drama for me is how much I despised their first sexual encounter because it was not consensual. Also, Vee was just not a good person in the first few episodes period. But even if I take those pain points out, it's still just okay overall. Not bad, just okay.
This drama could've been 10 episodes each 25 mins. For me, this drama dragged. Too many scenes felt too long and could've been shortened and we would've gotten the same information and story progression. There were some good moments of dialogue but those conversations came at odd times and would've been more impactful if executed better and at better times. The two lead actors did have really good chemistry but their characters weren't the most dimensional. I did end up speed watching the last two episodes because I just wanted to get this series over with. It's not the worse, but it just wasn't that entertaining to watch. Hopefully I can watch the two leads in a different drama together.
The drama was okay. The chemistry between the two main characters will keep you wanting to watch more but story and execution overall were just okay. Zee Pruk's acting is a standout performance. That scene where he cries left me so heartbroken that I had to take a break from the drama for a few days. On the flip side, I couldn't enjoy the character Kuea and didn't care for the other relationships and that came down to poor execution and writing. As much as I think this show is just okay, I don't believe it's as horrible as some of the comments say below. I've seen WAY worse dramas / BLs and for some reason have higher ratings than this.
I have to be honest, I thought this drama was just okay. It was very surface level as far as dialogue which is a missed opportunity because the characters are more mature, so I was hoping for some more depth as far as writing and characterisation. The two leads did have great chemistry and I enjoyed their acting. The cinematography was also gorgeous throughout, so many beautiful shots. But overall, I still don't think this drama stands out for me. A quick and good watch, but I just wanted a bit more from this.
Wow. I was a little sceptical going in but once we got into the backstory things became really interesting. For me, there were some moments where the acting felt a little cringe and where the story had me side-eyeing a bit, but it still was a really exciting ride. The final episode was definitely a good and epic way to end this. Wow.
This drama was okay. Started off pretty good, but eventually realised I wasn't as into It as I thought I'd be after the 1st couple episodes. It doesn't really stand out to me in my head. Everything was was just okay all around. I think better execution of the storyline would've won me over more, but I just felt lacking to me toward the end. But a nice, quick watch.
This was a struggle to watch... I really don't have many positives to say. I felt that the acting was cringe, no chemistry and cringe dialogue. Story was boring and also cringe at times. This drama really needed a better director and better editing. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this drama to anyone. It just wasn't enjoyable in any way. The NC scenes aren't even worth it.
Watching this again for the first time in years and I can't believe I only gave it a 7. This drama is so good. The execution of a pretty cliché storyline felt fresh and was so much fun. There was a lot of ridiculousness and the character Haruta is a big idiot but that's part of his charm and the charm of the drama lol. Speaking of Haruta, Tanaka Kei absolutely delivered in his role. Laughed so hard at his quirkiness and was heartbroken whenever he cried. He is a great actor! Everyone else was also great. Overall, it is a great drama, BL or not.
A simple and quick watch. The story is fine. Anyone working a overbearing job with surely relate to the main character. I thought the actors were pretty good, just wish there was a bit more chemistry. Little more direction would've really brought the character Kai and his story to life because both felt a little flat. But overall, it's a decent watch with a cute ending.
This was cute. The production quality was really good and the actors were great. Their comedic timing for a lot of the funnier scenes were perfect. I think the main two characters were good, I just wish there was a little bit more chemistry - I think some help from the direction would've improved that because they were great together, just needed a little more. Overall, it's a simple and typical drama but you'll enjoy watching it.
The one time I come to a page and I’m not surprised with the rating this drama was just awful and what really…
Okay, I'm glad someone mentioned it because I really couldn't recall Jade acting like that either. I thought maybe I just wasn't paying attention to him in Bed Friends enough. But he was definitely a little eccentric but not THAT eccentric like in this drama. It was a little weird.
This would've been hella cute if it wasn't a teacher/student dynamic. I like both characters individually and the actors were good. Especially Rintaro as Toki. He really brought the character to life - very fun, sweet and cute. Just would've been better with maybe one more episode and of course...... if it wasn't an high school student and a teacher kinda situation...
This drama was meh. It's not horrible, it's still watchable, it just doesn't standout in anyway in my mind. The story is pretty typical, which I don't mind typical and cliche as long as the execution is great. But the execution for this fell a little flat. The character Jade is interesting and I don't mind an eccentric character, but that kind of character needs to also have impeccable execution or it risk being extremely cringe. With all that said, I do hope we get to see Tutor and Yim together in a different drama because they're actually quite good together.
The execution of this story felt a little sloppy. I feel like there was no real connection between any of the characters. Having a character admit that they like another character doesn't automatically add tension and chemistry. That has to be properly developed and I didn't get that from ANY of the romantic couples. If the writing and editing was a bit better, I'm sure this would've been a good drama. But, for me, it was pretty meh overall.
Unforgotten night but a forgettable drama. For me, there's no real saving grace for this drama. Better direction was needed because too many scenes felt awkward to watch and I don't think it's solely due to the acting. However, the two main actors had the chemistry of two goldfish. The editing and choice of music for some scenes didn't help either. The plot itself is interesting in theory (who doesn't like a mafia love story) but the execution was boring. I'm really trying to think of a positive... I guess one positive is that it's a quick watch lol. It's not completely unwatchable, but it's definitely not good lol.
I don't know where to start with this one. Feel like this drama needed overall better direction, writing and editing. There were some topics in this drama that I thought weren't handled with care and were superficially executed. Pacing was weird for this, especially considering they waited until the last episode to bring in a pretty big plot point. Also think the characteristion of the characters were done poorly to non-existent. If we're being frfr, Type had pretty much no development or there was no real thought into how to develop his character, who is the character who needed the most development. Falling in love with someone isn't a character development that will excuse his past horrible behaviour. Overall, there's a decent concept here, the execution just wasn't that great. Also, the background music was hella loud!
A good, well rounded drama. I laughed, was heartbroken, cried tears of joy, laughed again and smiled hard because of the cuteness. I wasn't as interested in at the beginning, but as the story gets going and the main characters' relationship began to develop, it really started to showcase how great the acting and chemistry was between the two lead actors. Some moments felt a little too awkward with other actors/characters but overall it was still really good. The last two episodes were also nicely done. So many genuine emotions were felt. Great way to end this drama.
I live for messy relationship drama. But I especially enjoyed some of the character arcs in this drama. Ray and Sand are probably the standout characters for me as well as the standout actors. Overall, it's a pretty good drama, an entertaining watch. It has flaws, mostly I think with chemistry and some writing but I did enjoy it.
A solid movie. The actors were great, vthe production was also great. The only thing this movie suffers from is the run time. The source material and even the anime are able to build up the story so beautifully. The movie does a decent job but it could've been even better with some more backstory. But it's a lot to squeeze into one movie. Still, very good performances and their workaround to make the abilities fit into real life/live action was done beautifully.
The Novelist/Pornographer (1st drama in series)
Mood Indigo (prequel to The Novelist)
The Novelist: Playback (sequel)
There's also the short films Pornographer: Spring Life that came out before the sequel.
