On Burn the House Down Feb 2, 2024
This drama was a decent watch. Honestly, I wanted more from it. I thought all the actors were great but I think with better direction and editing, it would've felt even more tense and thrilling. The climax didn't really do much for me and I think that's because of how they were unfolding things, nothing gave me that feeling of "wow" or "OMG". The concept is really interesting, but the execution fell a little flat for a drama tagged as a thriller, mystery and psychology, in my opinion.

Really good song! It's called 'Carnival' by VAUNDY.

When you don't think about the story and characters, and isolate certain moments, it's quite cute. But when you think about this being the second season and that there's no real plot or character development of the MCs, it becomes frustrating to watch at times. I absolutely love the actors, they're all great. The characters, especially Minato were hard to fully enjoy. His character does not progress at all. Even with that turn in the plot, I would've loved if the writers made it so that it forced Minato to make Shin fall in love with him and create new memories together. Instead, as always, he just pouts and runs aways from the problems and it's up to Shin to do the heavy lifting. It gets tiring after 12 episodes. But the upside is the actors are a joy to watch! Watch for them if anything!

Simple, sweet and cute. As many others have said, it's a love triangle done right. The story is simple but very well executed. The characters are great and I love their developments. The actors were also great throughout. So good and very enjoyable!

This was really good. The direction and cinematography were great. Really enjoyed the acting. The story was surprisingly emotional with some lightheartedness. Wasn't sure what I was expecting with the drama but I was pleasantly surprised and couldn't stop watching.

First things first. We don't condone r*pe. The only sex and best sex is consensual sex. Do not watch this if that kind of content is triggering for you. Do what's best for you. With that said, this is some smutty smut. If you do enjoy this it's because the smut is... very well done. Great shots. As far as story, the motivation for the MC's actions is some BS. I've also never been a huge fan of the Stockholm syndrome or abuser to lover kinda love developments. I think what really annoys me is that there's so much good, smutty yaoi to adapt that doesn't have this kind of storyline. This had some really good production and looks as if good money went into it too. I hope in the future we can get more live action smut adaptations that don't have such a toxic storyline that comes of romanticised. Overall, from a technical standpoint, the movie was meh.

The scream I scrumpt! 🦈...💀 lol! The first 3 quarters of this film were okay. I think it had a pretty good message about toxic work culture and society but the last quarter of this film... so unserious! Lofl! It was hilarious because it was so stupid but it was also a little too random and didn't really do much for the movie as a whole. The actors were good, think they were having fun with the roles. Cinematography was great throughout. But overall, it was an okay film. Not the best zombie movie out there, but it's okay.

Wow. Just wow. This movie left me speechless. So well done. A movie that challenges perspective. Who's really the monster? What is the monster? The acting was superb across the board and the story was compelling. Made me very emotional watching this. Great movie!

Was a good film. The actors were all great, the action was good. I thought it was a typical action movie though, nothing in it was surprising or really stood out but it was still a good watch. Wasn't bored for a second!

This was decent. I was never bored but it also wasn't anything special for the genre. Actors did good with the material they had and there were definitely moments of humour and some good action but overall just okay.

I did have an issue with the episode where they tried to make the audience think that Ji Hyun was dead. Because what was the purpose? If all the characters in the show knew he was still alive, why present it to the audience like he died?? Felt like a cheap way to get some sort of drama and also cheat the audience into feeling some kind of emotion. That's just my opinion. It irritated so much lol. But still enjoyed the drama overall lol.

A decent drama, pretty okay overall. The best thing about this was the final episode - it felt deserved and pretty resolved. The acting was really good all around. I don't think the two MCs had the most amazing chemistry but their individual acting was really good. One the more technical side, the writing was decent. I appreciate the development of Jae Won and his resolution. The dialogues were okay. I appreciate the therapist scenes. I thought she was a bit unorthodox but she did have some occasional gems. I also appreciate watching a BL that doesn't have a focus on the characters feeling like they have to hide their relationship. It's a breath of fresh air. They just exist which is nice. Cinematography was pretty cool yet jarring at times. Some times there were some really cool shots but they didn't quite fit with the overall drama at times. Especially when the shots were mixed with the abrupt cuts, it was jarring - felt too much like a film student's first project and they just wanted to get some artsy moments just cause. Overall though, it was an okay watch but I did enjoy this drama.

This drama was simple and cute. Your classic BL storyline, so you know what to expect, but it's still a fun and cute watch. The actors had great chemistry and the characters were enjoyable.

Also, I'm so glad they showed that last part with Shishigami and his friend. Because of he had died, I was about to be up in this comment section saying "oh, so we can just kill the unstoppable robot man with the power of love and family all of a sudden?!" lol

Title Inuyashiki
This was such a good watch! Exciting and my heart stayed racing throughout the film, especially in the 2nd act. Thoroughly enjoyed both the main characters, they were well developed, especially Shishigami. They did a good job of creating his story. You felt both sad for him and angry at him equally. The actors playing the main characters were also great. The action was exciting and fun. There were even little funny moments that really helped balance out some of the more emotional and darker moments but not in a forced way. The sfx were pretty good, not the best but not so bad that they're distracting. This is exactly the kind of film I'd expect from the director of 'I Am A Hero'. Very good! I'd definitely rewatch and even recommend to friends who aren't that into foreign films.

Same here! I love Japanese thrillers and psychological/thrillers because they always tend to be interesting and exciting to watch. Though, they rarely have happy endings 😩. Not that that's a bad thing because they tend to be realistic endings. But I usually have to watch other genres to get the happy endings. Like I just finished watching 'Inuyashiki' and it was such a good action/thriller with a happy ending.

Genuine question... Are you only watching thrillers? Because there's quite a good bit of Japanese movies with happy endings. They tend to be more common other genres though. Maybe not this genre of Japanese film.

Not my favourite Japanese thriller. All the actors were great, they did amazing with what they had. As far as the story, there wasn't much of a mystery for me. I don't mind slow build ups, but all that build up for meh reveals is pretty disheartening. Overall, an okay film, but sadly not something I'd be excited to watch again or will remember a few months from now. This would get 5 because it was pretty mediocre for its genre but I'm bumping it up a bit because the actors did that great.
