I love the concept of this drama, just not the biggest fan of the execution. To me, some of the dialogues and some of the directing and editing choices were a bit cringe. Not the cutesy, extremely corny kinda cringe. This drama had a lot more potential. The drama is gorgeous as far as the cinematography. When it comes to the lead characters, I felt that the younger actors had more chemistry than the older actors, but oh boy are the older actors very nice to look at lol. I wanted to feel more from the lead characters, especially Ren. I did feel sad for him but didn't connect enough to really feel the heartache I think they wanted me, as the audience, to feel during the more emotional scenes. It was a good watch, I did finish it in one sitting, just wanted a bit more from it.

This was a fun watch! It hits all the classic tropes but approaches them in a genuinely fun way. Because this show didn't take itself too seriously and had fun, it's hard to scrutinize. The characters were great and so were the actors. It managed to respect the target audience who love this type of content without going too overboard or make fun of the genre itself. Like I mentioned, it has all the tropes and stereotypes but the execution is so well done, you can't help but just enjoy yourself watching this short series!

I thought this was a pretty good film. It definitely had me tearing up a few times. The actors were really great in this film - they did a lot of the emotional heavy lifting for the film. As far as some technical things, I think certain scenes and moments would've been more impactful if the editing was done a bit differently. For instance, I feel certain moments didn't require flashbacks. I, as the audience, already understood and I didn't need the flashbacks - felt like it was being dumbed down. The emotion would've been stronger without them in certain scenes. The story wasn't the most original, but overall, I did enjoy the film. Though, like I said, I think the heavy lifting for this film was done by the actors.

I thought this film was okay. I think all the actors in this film are amazing but I unfortunately wasn't a big fan of the execution of the story. It's supposed to be a thriller but there was only one scene where I felt that excitement and anxiety, wondering what's gonna happen. I felt the exposition was a little too in your face and could've been finessed a bit more because I personally didn't feel there was a satisfying build to everything that takes place in the 2nd act of the film. Everything just kinda happens. Some of the editing choices were also... interesting. I think this plot is very interesting, I'm just not a fan of the execution. The actors and their performances will keep you watching though.

The first drama I think I've ever watched which attempted to explore poly relationships on a more open level. Whilst I don't think it's the best representation or gives the best explanation of poly people/relationships, it's a pretty good start. As far as technical things... the actors were all great in their roles! The story and writing was okay. My biggest gripe with the story were the interactions with the other teacher and her involvements - felt they were kind of out of place and annoying for me. I think certain important conversations still could've happened even without that annoying character. Overall, it was a decent watch and the acting is probably the best thing about this drama though. But again, I appreciate the attempt at exploring poly relationships.

You would think based on the cover and the fact that it is only tagged as a romance drama, that you wouldn't get…
Oh! I forgot to mention how beautiful this drama is too. So many great shots, the cinematography was superb. Also, I appreciate how on some of the emotional and sincere moments, they really gave us a chance to sit in the characters emotions and also give us the same anxiety that the characters were feeling. It's also important to mention how down-to-earth and grounded each character felt.

You would think based on the cover and the fact that it is only tagged as a romance drama, that you wouldn't get the sweet, funny and heartwarming show that I just finished watching. It is definitely one of the better romantic comedies if seen for a little bit. Every single character is joy to watch and the actors really brought out the best in each character they portrayed - they had amazing chemistry. I call it a romantic comedy but it does do a great job at also balancing out some of the more sincere and emotional moments. Overall, I REALLY enjoyed this drama.

This was a really good film. Great actors and phenomenal action sequences. I was intrigued and on edge the entire film. The pacing was very good as well. I do think the plot itself was a little generic and typical of an action film, but the acting, the action and the cinematography made the story come to life. Overall, an exciting watch for those who like action.

One of my favourite things about this movie is that it is gorgeous - so many beautifully shot scenes. I thought the actors were great in this movie. I'm glad they went all out because I could truly feel the emotion and their conflict. As far as the story, I'm not the biggest fan of how their relationship started (it's pretty problematic imo) but once they're in the relationship, their story is an emotional ride - you really feel for both characters. The character Kyoichi is definitely my favourite as his growth by the end of the movie is beautiful to watch. I gave this movie a 7 because it is good, but I can't get over how their relationship started and because I wanted more characterisation and more development for the Wataru character. The character of Wataru isn't my favourite depiction of an LGBT+ character, especially since he came off pretty creepy in the beginning. If that was a man coercing a woman like that, I'm sure it wouldn't be romanticised like it was in this film. And I say it was romanticised because there is no consequence and acknowledgement of his actions being pretty messed up within the film.

This movie was a fun time. It didn't take itself seriously which made a lot of the different action and fighting sequences hilarious to watch while still being pretty cool. The cast was perfect, I enjoyed every actor's performance. Some of the story felt a little lackluster at times for me, but the comedy and action made up for it. It's not the best action comedy I've seen come out of Japan, but like I said, it's a really fun watch.

As a BL, I appreciate how grounded and more realistic this one is. It still has all the cute, funny and doki doki moments but I genuinely believe the characters and their relationship progression in this compared to other BL dramas. It is a little more mature as far as execution which I appreciate. The actors have great chemistry and the story is solid. This is definitely one of my favourites!

This is a good drama. It touches on how relationships do not need to be how others or society say they should be. Everyone is different and so is every relationship. The main character has always had a traditional way of thinking of relationships (not that it's a bad thing) but he starts to learn through the women in his life that traditional isn't suited for everyone. This drama does a good job of exposing viewers to different ways of exploring and thinking about romantic relationships, however I personally feel like it doesn't dive deep enough but only scratches the surface. I would've given this drama an even higher rating if it did dive a little deeper with some of the characters and their thoughts. A part from that, the acting is great and the characters a pretty good.

Wow! My guy is a whole director now! I'm so proud of how far he keeps going with his career! I remember the first time seeing him in BL and not knowing who he was lol, and now he's booked and busyyyyy! They grow up so fast 🥹. Can't wait to see his directing skills! Hopefully his films get subbed soon 🤞🏼

If you would've told me back in 2006 that Kazuya Kamenashi from KAT-TUN would be in a Takashi Miike film playing a psychotic killer, I wouldn't believe you! Lol. I need to see this! Can't wait for the English subs!

The acting was great from the entire cast. When there were sweet moments they were extremely sweet and put a big smile on my face. But there was also moments of shock, tension and even moments that had me crying my eyes out. Very entertaining and a great romantic comedy!

On Let's Get Divorced Dec 17, 2023
I wished this show was only the final two episodes. For 7 of the 9 episodes, we were pretty much being told about how characters are and not actually SEEING who they are, which made it hard to believe any of the good qualities they would be complimented on by other characters.

Especially for the male lead character, he was shown as being a horrible politician and person but yet we were constantly being told the opposite, that he was kind and good - it didn't make sense. Same for the love between the two lead characters - the love that they say was there was never truly shown, in my opinion. Again we're only told about their love and even then, when their love was described, it was described superficially. It wasn't until the last two episodes, especially the final episode, where interesting and more in depth conversations started happening surrounding divorce, love and family.

This show had potential and had a great cast, but the writing and execution was a let down. I unfortunately couldn't and didn't want to connect with any of the characters. It's kind of disappointing how a show that's supposed to focus on mature and unconventional relationships didn't take the time to have the serious conversations until the very end. Plus the male lead had terribly written because I couldn't stand him for majority of the series.

Out of all the BLs I've watched most recently, this one had many laughs. The cuteness and awkwardness of the characters had me literally laughing out loud. The plot was a little all over the place - they touched on some character background but didn't fully execute them, in my opinion. I do hope there's another season or a movie so those plots can be better developed. But I enjoyed the chemistry of all the actors and had fun watching this.
