Good drama. Great action scenes, cool characters and kick a$s cinematography. The only thing that really bothered me was how the storyline was a bit all over the place most of the time and it was a bit obvious that they were tryna squeeze in as many characters/LDH faces into it as possible (I mean, I'm sure that's the whole point anyway... LDH porn lol), but this was still entertaining af. Definitely gonna be watching season 2.
Not a bad film. Had a very interesting concept and I was entertained throughout, but it sadly won't be a film that stands out in my head. This film is only 1 hour and 30 mins... I feel that they definitely could've added something to give it an extra oomph - like a a bit more characterisation and maybe a bit more exposition.
The trailer really had me excited for this film, however, even with the cool and interesting concept, I wasn't a big fan of the execution. There's a difference between keeping your audience intrigued/interested and just having them annoyingly confused, and for me, what was the most disappointing was having to watch this 2 hour film and be confused for an 1 hour and 40 minutes of it, to only then have some lackluster reveal. But, with that being said, the characters in this film were great (just wished there was a bit more characterisation) as well as the actors - they were great too. There were also entertaining actions scenes and interesting dialogue at times. Personally, I just wished the overall story was executed a bit better because this film had a lot of potential.
This was a cute drama. You'll love it especially if you love learning about Japan - specifically Kyoto. As far as the scenarios that happen in each episode, I personally felt that they were pretty forgettable and they had that after-school special kind of vibe going on, BUT each episode had its sweet and funny moments and were enjoyable. I also loved the cast. I thought they worked well together and had great chemistry. Overall, I think this is a good drama if you just wanna watch something light with a few giggles.
I thought this film was very good. Just like most of Sion Sono's films, there is thought and meaning behind it with an interesting statement to be made. Youth culture and, obviously, suicide are the main focuses of this film and I personally think this film did a very good job at capturing that.
I'm a BL fangirl and I enjoyed squealing over this web series... but it does have flaws. It's not the best in terms of quality, but hey, it is web series. Pretty sure their budget wasn't that big (and even if it was, I'm pretty sure most of it was probably spent on renting those cars and clothes lol). Personally though, as much as I fangirled, the acting wasn't that great and the story felt like it was going all over the place. But I did read that a lot of the scenes were cut out for the release because of some censorship issues or something another, so I won't judge it too much yet. Hopefully whenever I can get my hands on the uncut DVD things will flow better and I'll get a bit more out of the characters and story. So far though, it has given me some good laughs. Definitely had yaoi plot written all over it. I'm actually surprised it's not based off of a manga??
This drama was very, very good. Two strong female characters with good actors to further enhance those characters. The writing was great - I was drawn in from the very start with each episode only getting more and more compelling. This drama was breath of fresh air because there was no relying on archetypes or cliches to drive the plot, just interesting characters with their own story. I'd recommend this drama to anyone who likes a well written dramatic storyline but with realistic characters and good acting.
I thought each short was absolutely hilarious. They were simple and very... quirky lol. It's obvious this wasn't some expensive corporate film project - each short is obviously very low budget but, by no means, does it take away from the overall entertainment. I don't think most of the humour won't suit everyone's taste but there are FOUR different stories, so I highly suggest watching all of them before judging the project in its entirety. Because each short has a different director/writer, each story will also have a different style and approach. (Personally, the first and last story were probably my favourite lol.) I think if you do like quirky or kind of outlandish humour, these will definitely have you laughing out loud.
This film is cute, sweet, touching, but also pretty outlandish. I don't think it will suit everyone's taste but it is pretty interesting and has some good themes.
This film is Japanese rapper porn for me lol. If you like Japanese rap, you'll see some very familiar faces throughout this film xD
I'm a Sion Sono fan, but this film, overall, was okay for me. It is very funny, has great action and is visually stunning, but its plot is pretty basic and, for me, it lacks some characterisation. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys outlandish and funny Japanese films and, of course, anyone who likes about of rap in their life lol.
If you like this film, it will feel like a guilty pleasure lol. It can seem weird but it definitely has its charm and is more than what meets the eye, so try not to get too put off by it. It'll give you a good laugh if you can suspend your disbelief for about 2 hours.
It's not tagged, but this IS a musical comedy as well as action, school and romance film.
I haven't watch this, but every time I see the title I can't help but sing "cheese in the trap, ch-cheese in the trap" in my best Nicki Minaj voice haha
Standing ovation for Moon So Ri's performance in this film. Truly remarkable. (I will definitely be checking out more films with her in them.)
As the synopsis says, this film tells a pretty sullen story about the growing relationship between a sociopath and a girl with a severe disability. While it has its sweet moments, they quickly descend into the sad and bitter reality of the situation. I did gain sympathy for the two characters' as they are both constantly ostracized by the people who are supposed to love them the most, so the bond that develops between them is only natural and charming (because everyone does indeed deserve love). However, while Hong Jong Du's intentions do become sincere throughout the film, I was still left wondering if the relationship is truly a good thing. Especially during one of the final scenes... While the subject matter itself is a little tricky, this film is still very compelling. 7.5/10.
Even with the mature tag it's still a cliché romantic comedy. I personally think the film is very funny, but it's also very predictable. Sadly, the storyline and characters weren't that interesting to me because they were what made the film cliché. To me, apart from having a sex scene, there was nothing in this film that really makes it stand out in within the romantic comedy genre. I gave it a 5.5/10.
Shoutout to Morita Kanro for being such a cutie pie in Side A! #TeamSideATakku5Eva! Haha. He's practically not credited in anything (and I'm hoping that that's just because they don't wanna spoil anything... *side-eye*).
By the way, I don't think the point of the ending was to solely show that Mayu is also a cheater. I think the point of the non-linear story was to show the viewers how different the two Takku's are as well as the differences in her relationships with them during the time period. I mean, anyone watching will wonder why Takku all of a sudden changes in personality. I personally don't think what Mayu did was that bad. If you properly piece together the story, Suzuki Tatsuya (Side B) was being an ass, neglectful and did technically cheat on Mayu first. Mayu didn't sleep with Suzuki Yuki (Side A) until about 2 months after he slept with Miyako. Now that I think about it... it's actually pretty interesting because the entire time, you're watching Tatsuya slowly loose interest in Mayu and become more interested in someone opposite of her, while at pretty much the same time, Mayu is doing pretty much the same thing - becoming interested in someone who is the opposite of Tatsuya. (The only difference is Mayu wasn't acting like a prick towards Tatsuya.)

Anyway, I rambled... sorry xD
