Yeah, I'm also happy the three princess all have their distinct personalities. And Xiaoqian is a much better FL than most of the other ones ZLS has played.

I also wouldn't say she's brainless, but her actions are really reckless sometimes and I'd just appreciate her to have some more caution. Like, I get it, she's a normal person and I don't expect her to have brilliant ideas all the time, but that's why she should be more careful, you know?

Idk, I'm just tired of the same FL in time-travel / transmigration dramas. She always has to be cute and clumsy and ditsy. At least Xiaoqian isn't always like that lol.

I also like the ML more, I even find the FL to be better than the one from Love Better Than Immortality. But....wow, the ML really must have you sucked into this drama if the FL annoyed you since the beginning LOL

Well after forcing myself to watch episodes 9 and 10, the story dragged me back in and I enjoyed the drama once more. Chuchu has become my favorite character so far, she's really a good heroine - possibly the only thing Xiaoqian has written well xD

I really hope that even if she becomes a 'villain' for a while, she gets her happy ending too, and that her hard work is finally rewarded. The mother sucks tho.

Tbh, I'd love it if we could have an FL like her someday. She's intelligent, level-headed, skilled, kind, hardworking, but also has flaws like any other human being. She's well-rounded w/o being a perfect Mary Sue but also isn't a brainless, cute, dumb girl (like Xiaoqian can be at time, cough).

Oh, okay, sorry for not understanding hahaha~ Well, I do hope even if Chuchu becomes a 'villain' for a while, she will also get her happy ending. I haven't seen the opening and ending scenes, but if she does end up w/ Pei Heng, I hope he gets over Xiaoqian first.... Otherwise it'll feel cheap lol.

And yes! I actually like Lin Qi lmao, she's quite funny and even cute xD

Hmm...I don't really understand what you're trying to say? I just meant I didn't like how Lin Qi has been written, as a character, not the acting. And what does the drama ending in a happy ending have to do w/ my comment? Sorry, I don't mean to be rude, but...I'm not sure about some of the stuff you wrote.

Is it bad to say I also feel bad for Lin Qi? It must be the product of reading too many 2nd Female Lead Counterattack stories, but I feel bad she's been written as essentially the spoiled and vicious second female lead with like 0 redeeming qualities -.-

She's basically just there for Pei Heng to suddenly come up and save Qianqian, sigh.

I feel so bad for the second princess....(and the first princess too, but she's gotten less screen time). And I sort of dislike the female lead for not realizing how she's making things harder for Chuchu. I even had to stop watching episode 7 because I was so annoyed lmao. I have a feeling this drama is going to go in the direction of Chuchu turning into a villain, and no offense, I'm going to support her if that's the case xD

Don't get me wrong, I still like Xiaoqian / Qianqian but her thoughtless actions and rushing into danger w/o even a well thought-out plan really annoys me. Even if this is comedy where I tend to be more lenient w/ dumb FLs.

I ended up dropping this drama, even tho I really liked the first 12 episodes or so. They were full of comedy and I liked the relationship btwn the leads, even if I did find the modern female lead too bratty at times. But after the 12/13 episode, the drama takes a shift and becomes filled with cultivation stuff and angst. The leads barely interacted, most of the comedy was gone, and I just couldn't keep going.

I personally don't have much against ZLS being the FL since I haven't watched her other dramas except Love Better Than Immortality (which I didn't like, esp. since the 'cute dumb' actions of her character failed at being funny).

But I agree with you that she always tends to play this type of character - which in fact is always the given personality for the FL if it's a time travel drama. I do hope her character this time doesn't have a personality shift like you mentioned, it would be very unrealistic since it mainly seems to be a comedy.

Forgot to mention, even the villains are great in this. Especially the 2nd prince....I think he ended up being my favorite character because he was just so funny!

I'm not going to write a whole review, but I just recently finished this drama and all I have to say is that it's amazing. The story, the romance btwn the male and female leads, the acting, the comedy, and most importantly the female lead's character (which, while being of the 'cute' type, was not annoying at all). And for those who like to know whether it's a happy ending or not: YES it is, and a great one at that.

Also, does anyone know why Han Shuo pours out the poison on their wedding night? I didn't really get why.

Just watched the first 2 episodes, and it's been a good ride so far!!

Some actions of the female lead are kind of dumb, but since it all turns out okay in the end, it's whatever lmao. Especially since it's a comedy - I die of laughter every time she angers Han Shuo~

It's also hilarious watching everything be gender-swapped (and kind of satisfying, hahah, not gonna lie). But the actor that criticized the female lead's screenplay was right - swapping the gender and making a society dominated by women the same as one dominated by men is just lazy writing, and not feminist at all.
