Title Destined
As a man, I find it hard to get past episode 4, I thought I was watching some emasculated film from America. Yes, Gu's son isn't perfect, but the writers did spend some time making him the "worst." Also, I find it hard to believe the attitudes of these women, especially the FL. Come on, this is supposed to be ancient China. I drop this one with a smile on my face.

How many times have I watched dramas like this? I've already forgotten. People have this delusional view of "strong characters," "weak characters," introverted, and depressed individuals, while in reality, things don't work this way. The story tries to portray a character who may be introverted but doesn't appear so, has no will yet is selfish, and suffers from Stockholm syndrome, but it fails in every one of these aspects. They try so hard to force us to like her character, to pity her, yet all she does is harm the other characters while making a crying face. This drama is no different from any other recent Chinese drama with a related topic; it's mediocre at best. Those who enjoy stories like this one are the ones to blame for such low quality in modern stories.

I won't even finish this drama since I can foresee everything that will happen. Some may call it "cliché," and every other drama does the same thing, but the point isn't the clichéness; it's about how well you can make such a thing work.

I mean, the major part of this drama was to comment on greed and the main character, the demon was created to…
It would be better if the evil spirit were only a generic greedy entity whose purpose is to create chaos, rather than an evil genie that manipulates chaebols. My issue isn't exactly the greed theme, but the insistence on chaebol drama, which I'm sick of.

Trash. I don't understand South Korea's obsession with rich families and chaebol stuff. This could have been a good drama if it had focused entirely on haunting evil ghosts and the supernatural elements. Not to mention the so-and-so pseudo-romance that was going on between the FL and the ML that made me roll my eyes. Speaking of him, I skipped almost every scene he was in; I just can't like the actor. He doesn't seem to know how to act, always having a stiff face with barely any expression besides confusion. But that might just be my biased opinion, as the only drama I've watched with him was Weak Hero Class, and his character repelled me, just one more number for my blacklist. Kim Tae Ri and Oh Jung Se did a great job, though. Actually, this was my first time watching anything with Kim Tae Ri, and she's a really great actress.
On When I Fly Towards You Jul 3, 2023
An actually refreshing drama, without any evil characters or pointless "drama". It was a love triangle-free which is awesome, and I had a great time watching it. The only thing I have to complain about is the delay in the two of them confessing their feelings because of some Chinese cultural thing (or at least is what they want us to think).

One of the rare cases where the drama has gotten worse for me as the characters, especially the female lead, have aged. Sang Zhi was much cuter as a child or adolescent, with the exception of the final moments of episode 7. I'm going to wait until it finishes to decide whether I should continue watching or not.

Maybe I had expected too much. I only started watching because of the romance genre, but I got my hopes up for nothing. With 40 episodes, I at least expected half of them to be filled with some romantic scenes. Are there any? I don't think so. Episode 26 was such a letdown, and the fact that we have to wait for four more episodes for the so-expected get-together feels dragged out, only to turn out to be not that great.

To not be overly critical, kudos to the writers for not including any kind of love triangle/square/pentagon or "character development" based on jealousy.

My advice to those who want to watch this because of the romance genre: don't be fooled.

One of the worst thing I've watched this year so far. How can a story get derailed this much I wonder. Never trust titles or descriptions, that's what I learned from this drama.
On Crash Course in Romance Mar 4, 2023
Episode 15 is straight up bullshit. 393838 plots at the same time, horrible ending for the garbage murder one, not to mention Hae Yi and her birth mother. Appeard out of blue and now she wants to live with her? Lmao. They both deserve each other, I feel bad for Haeng Seon, giving up on her life some some shitty brat.
Misleading title brought me up to this drama, never gonna watch a another one weekly.

Four episodes, four. Yet they somehow managed to fill this trash with every single stupid trope romance kdrama has, well done, really. If you can avoid this, please do.

I wondered how she could get redeption, but once her story was revealed, I did have sympathy for her. She borrowed…
No no, by ML's mother I mean Ling Xiao's. My mistake for not specifying which ML.
But I agree with you, Zi Qiu's mom indeed had great character development, kind of liked her at the end.
On Mad for Each Other Jan 12, 2023
Annoying FL, unbearable, made the drama worse for me.
Though if you want to watch, stop at episode 11. Korean writers do have some problems with endings, just... why.
On Let Me Be Your Knight Jan 10, 2023
My brain hurts. Why do I keep torturing myself like this? Masochism perhaps, idk.
I never wished for a sad ending drama or where the main characters didn't end up together until now, FL should have suffered more than some fake tears, annoying bitch.

ML, his dad and Jian Jian being friendly to his mother at the end disgusted me, her character and the main's forgiveness towards her made me dislike the drama, not to mention the pointless love triangle as always.
The main's romance was just whatever, not enough screen time to make me care that much, the only thing I can say I really liked was the dads friendship, truly awesome.

Wrote this before starting the last episode.
I've never fast-forwarded a drama like this one, the first 5 episodes for me were almost unwatchable. FL has the brain of a monkey, no, I'd say a monkey is more understandable than her at the beginning of the drama. She jumps to conclusions without thinking about it and acts like a rebellious teenager who hates their parents, has no tackle dealing with ML and hurts him in every way, and we are supposed to believe she's a doctor who takes care of children, ironic huh.

After halfway through the drama FL became another character I'd say, her "strong" personality disappears as if it never existed, and it is when their romance actually starts. One of the things that I got annoyed at was her best friend giving her advice about romance based on the novels she writes, bruh. We weren't shown any hint of her friend being an "expert" in romances, neither the drama gave us any clues why she's that big brain about relationships, it is just based on "I just know it, trust me".

But I wouldn't say it was all bad, If I just ignore the start and focus only on their romance halfway until the "break up" thing, it was good, the actors have some chemistry to fool me enough and believe they are in a relationship in fact.
Now, about the "break up" thing, there's a character on the drama that spread rumors about ML and FL dating, as if they were some kind of godly beings that everyone cared about, which caused the "break up". But this "break up" is just a disguise to let the dust settle down, ML's dad goes after FL and suggests that she break up with him, and which she agrees, then she moves back to the rural hospital while ML's dad lies to him and made him go on a business trip. I guess asian dramas will never get rid of love triangles and break ups cliches, sad.
FL who has shown us that she loves ML so much now fools him with his dad and does not communicate with him about the "break up" thing, and what is funnier is that when she was talking with his dad, she said "do you think our relationship is some kind of playground to play with?" something in those lines, ah hypocrisy.

It is a pity because I really liked the main characters' chemistry, but the start and the finale plot are just bad enough for me not like the drama, thus 4/10.

I couldn’t get through the first 30 minutes of the first ep. I found the FL UNBEARABLE. She’s supposed to…
I completely understand you, I feel the same. And I wouldn't even say she "grew" as a character, I'd say she's a totally different person after 7ish episodes, those 1-4 episodes were utterly unnecessary, and that's why even after 14 episodes I can't care any bit about their romance at all.

Only one episode and I'm so annoyed, god. It's so infuriating those misunderstandings that I want to jump off the bridge. Why the fuck can't people communicate? A person appears injured with your dumb animal and the first thing you say is "you're the thief!" like??? Are you that dumb, really? Not to mention that I'll need to bear these two dumb main characters falling in love, so annoying.
I swear I try to watch it with an open mind but the universe conspires against me with these poorly written stories.

I'm sick and tired of female characters like Don Se Ra, who don't know their place and keep sticking their nose where it doesn't belong. Maybe it's time to take a break from kdramas again, it just keeps annoying and upsetting me.

I'm just going to drop this one. I've never been so angry with a character in my entire life, this FL just sucks, she should f*ck off, an annoying poorly written character. Whenever she appeared I held myself to not throwing a punch at my monitor, my god.

Title Live On Spoiler
Episode 6 is one of the cringest things I've ever watched wtf. All of that just because of some bullying? dude,…
Episode 8. As expected, everyone is still best friends forever as if nothing happened (I'm looking at you, So Hyun). That's not how life works generally if I may say. As someone who was arrogant in my life and with my "friends", just like Ho Rang was, I didn't become "friends" with them again after saying hurtful yet true things, it's like a utopia. But that's not the point here, I'm not here to judge, just to enjoy the drama, that's why we all are here after all aren't we?
As for ML's mother plot it's just... not that simple. Yes, the drama has shown us that he's a caring and forgiving person to some extent, but as someone who has been in a similar yet different situation, I can tell that it's not that easy to "forgive" a person who left you for no reason and now is trying to make up as if nothing has happened, his mother disgusts me.

To finish my thoughts, I think the romance between the leads lacked a bit too much, yes the hugs scenes were cute and all but cmon, give us more. The side couple romance was just a big red flag, Jae Yi seems to not accept that she was wrong at times and throws everything at Woo Jae, how selfish. My guy had the guts to tell her how he felt and that she didn't seem that care about their relationship, yet in the end, they just said "sorry" to one another and that was it. Also, how selfish of FL too, saying she likes ML with only 10 minutes left to the drama ends. tsk.

It was a good ride at least. 7.5/10.
