Yeah, same old shit. Korean entertainment is flooded with feminist propaganda garbage nowadays, inherited from western media, which is sad.
I can't really tell you a modern slice of life Korean movie or drama that either doesn't make the Male Protagonist looks bad, cringe, puppy-like, or a retard while empowering Female Protagonists making them femme fatale or straight up whores with virtues.
They once were the golden pot at the end of the rainbow with titles like New World, Old Boy, Memories of Murder and many others.

Now they only care about catering to nonexistent, nonchalantly and insufferable audience that only read headlines. You can see this happening here on this very site, looking at the comments.

Welp looks like they got to Korea too
Guess I’m skipping this one as well, thank you. It’s been really tiring watching anything from Korea nowadays.

As long as you are a female and has some kind of “mental illness” all your wrongdoings can be dismissed because you are a “victim”, how sad…

I wonder when will Korean writers will stop signaling to the woke virus and write properly male and female characters without all the political bullshit within it.
On Taxi Driver Season 3 Jan 17, 2026
Ah yes, the kdrama 10 minutes ending. Season 3 could've been so much better but they always want to milk the shit out of the story. At least give the viewers a proper ending, you dick heads.
On Forbidden Fairytale Dec 26, 2025
I was reluctant to watch this one since the main character was a woman and I couldn’t really relate to her sexual fantasies. There is some of that, though - cheating being the predominant one, along with threesomes and everything in between.

The comedy was on point for me, at least. The friends of the female lead were so-so; just a bunch of horny, promiscuous women, and most of their gags were based on that premise, which I personally find disgusting. On the other hand, Si-won’s comedic timing was perfect - I couldn’t stop laughing during the bottle scene.

Overall, it’s an okay comedy film. It’s not great mainly because of the supporting characters on the female lead’s side; that’s the caveat of having a female-centered plot.
On The Great Flood Dec 19, 2025
The title is a false promise.

Disappointed is the right word. I recently watched "Greenland" since I was craving for some disaster film, which you may argue that thus film is not so great - well the majority of disaster films aren't. Then I stumbled upon this one, saw it on the Netflix's Upcoming section and added to my list.

It's a Sci-Fi story, not a disaster one. Yes, we could conjecture saying that disaster stories are somewhat science fiction, but here, the flood is just a philosophical question.

Nevertheless, it's a great concept, could've been more explored, too many vague answers, but it is what it is.

Holy shit. I'll say just one thing: if you are going to watch this, stop at 42:10 on the last episode and thank me later.

What a waste of my fucking time.

Sometime ago, I read on this website a phrase that went something like this: Male characters in drama are nothing but a dildo for female characters to climb up on and ride as they please. This is no different; yet another story that uses male characters as climbing steps to glorify the so-called feminism. This industry sickens me.

Reminder that girlboss plots are not empowering women, just romanticizing justifying boss unethical behavior towards…
Well said. They use this trend to empower women, but the effect is quite the opposite. People are becoming more and more divided—it’s a culture war. What’s funny is that when the term is used for men, it’s quickly dismissed as overused, a male fantasy, and so on. But when it’s about women? It’s all about empowering, lol. It’s a shame, though, that even foreign entertainment is being affected by this nasty virus—one you can’t name because people get triggered and claim it’s all in your head. It’s sad because we could have had awesome, well-written, and well-produced movies and shows. Of course, there are exceptions, but they’re rare to find, and when you do, there’s often a language barrier or simply unavailable.

Why the hell are most of the male characters such cowards in here
That's one of the points in their agenda. It's the same pattern used in Hollywood/western media in general, to portray the masculine figure as fragile and cowardly. Your profile picture represents well this idea. Though, of course, we have a badass trans character in this show - because why not, lol.

have you watched the worst evil by any chance? how does this compare? i personally loved that one
In terms of overall writing, The Worst Evil would be a step further since it had 12 episodes to develop its characters and plot, but personally, I didn’t like that one. Not that 8 episodes are not enough — we still have 2 episodes left — but the writer here seemed to not know what to do in wrapping up the story and created many subplots within the main one, making it harder to attach to any character and causing pacing issues for the whole plot, which I believe is supposed to focus on the trafficking of the girls.
On Gangnam B-Side Nov 21, 2024
Started great, fell greater. An echo of what could've been. Ji Chang Wook is truly an amazing actor, and despite his declarations about wanting to do more romance or slice of life type of stories, I can't imagine a world where he stops portraying badass protagonists. That’s what kept me watching this drama, even though that aspect was somewhat absent in the latest two episodes.
On Goodbye Earth Apr 28, 2024
I thought this was about Earth being destroyed by an inevitable catastrophe, society in chaos trying to survive, oh boi I was so wrong. I guess Koreans never fail to disappoint with their storytelling.

People who know me or seen me on boards know that I do not like arguments or pointless discussions but I really…
I kind of get that asking for recommendations that aren't similar to a drama's page is humm.. strange. But that doesn't change the fact that people are getting way to sensitive about everything here on this website. Saw a comment where the person just made a not-so comparison with another drama, and two users went full toxic replying. All that said, nothing new for me, this is the internet we are talking about, it's just fun to see random people arguing about pointless stuff.

You're absolutely right. Entertainment is what people want. However, making these types of stories over and over again obfuscates or, worse, doesn't even give a chance to writers to write something that could've been amazing. They're trapped in this system where "more" is considered more important than quality.

People seek falseness and lies, and that's why they enjoy such shows. Hell, even the drama criticizes all those fake smiles, yet their target audience is this type of person. Running away from real-life drama doesn't make them go away. Additionally, light and enjoyable aren't the same as well-written. The production team specifically chose this theme and genre because they're afraid of failure. Sticking with a tired cliche story is more financially viable than putting their neurons to work to make something different with barely any return.
On King the Land Aug 6, 2023
Yet another CEO "romcom". No story, no development, uninteresting, bland characters. As long as people keep watching garbage like this they'll keep making more.
