So much potential that the writer could have done with li tong guang and Yu shisan and chu yue's characters but here we are.
Li tong guang's character pissed me AWFF. The ML literally died to save his sorry ass. And the whole plan of ruyi to buy more time for new emperor of an to arrive with reinforcements. Y'all couldn't have done that when ML was alive but oh well. His death felt more like a character boost for li tong guang.
Was it ever mentioned why you shisan always runs away from a committed relationship? I feel like there was something more to his story. He has always this happy flirty boy persona but as an audience I feel that deep down there was probably a reason for it but it was never explored. Why? I guess we will never know. Maybe I have missed it or it was probably never shown at all why he like this. Either way it sucks because he could have the 2nd best character arc in the show after princess yang ying (she is now top #1 on my favorite characters list) This is exactly for reasons like this why his death didn't felt as impactful as the rest of the other three of liudao halls to me.
This is the first time I don't know what to rate a drama after watching. The ending confused the hella out of me. few questions-
1) Who is ning yushisan? Did ruyi survived the explosion and birthed twins? which means she is still alive but then the last part wouldn't make sense unless all of those were just chu yue's imagination.
2) Chu yue died in the end but it was shown in a metaphorical way when she asked the kid to take her to his home to meet his family. Her leaving with the kid was just her dream sequence before she passed away to after life.
Can MDL update this show's total episodes to 40 instead of the wrong one so that it won't mislead people into believing they missed some episodes. Thanks 🙏

Good point. How did I not though of this earlier! I never viewed gong gil as a trans woman, since throughout the movie more than once gong gil was referred to as a "boy" and how cheon shin, one of the counsellors said "lust after a boy" to jang seng, so gong gil could be trans never occurred in my mind. I also feel the same way with how gong gil never loved the tyrant king but instead felt sad for him (I mean same, all his cruelty aside he is also a tragic character, like the main duo)
What is undeniable is the bond between the main duo and what they had was definitely romantic. I wasn't sure watching the movie because it felt something in between friendship and found family type like jeng seng is a big older brother or sort of a guardian to gong gil, but after seeing the cut scenes it became much more obvious to me that it was none of that.
The plot has some holes but boy some of the dialogues here can be used as quotes.
"One's heart is like a dark big empty room. Sometimes all the materials of the world are not enough to fill it up but a simple light can illuminate the whole room and make it warm."
Another favorite of mine -
"I belong to the sunset but maybe you can wait to see the sunrise that belongs to you."
I have few others but this two stuck with me the most. I could have rated this show 10/10 if it had a better a plot. Although they wrapped up the ending quite well but I feel it'd been a lot better to explore more of the lore behind wufeng & gong clan. I can guess a little, since I've finished watching the drama but I want to know MORE. This show feels like a "main dish" that is almost "perfect" but it feels like it's just a starter. Who knows maybe we will get a season 2 where the plot will be expanded.
Pacing is also a issue for me. Sometimes it's too fast and sometimes it's too slow (not talking about the slowed action scenes but when the actors talk very slowly you will feel sleepy) overall it's a good show.
(This drama made me realize that I like wuxia dramas more than xianxia dramas.)
I saw everyone in white outfit at the very end and my first thought was "damn are they in heaven" but then I saw sergeant so I was like "oh he's here as well. I guess not."
I am not satisfied with this movie ending, because it makes no sense to me how the sergeant who was the MVP of this 2 hour 20 minute long movie, didn't get any closing scene of him with his family. Like bro literally sacrificed himself for his wife and we get no closure on her & his daughter with him?? It makes no sense to me. Did his wife die? What about the daughter? Why wasn't she with her father at the end?
Other than this, it was a good movie. A solid 9.5/10. (I shed a few tears too 😭)

I am curious why is there so much beef between wufeng and gong family. I get that these two are the top of the martial art world so that could be a reason, to me it's not enough for a reason. The way wufeng is hell bent to destroy gong clan there is got to be more to it. For now I believe it is because of GZY's mother. (This is just a speculation.)

Lol how did frank survived? I theorized for "that kind" of ability burning with fire would be the possible solution. Like not giving cells the chance to regenerate, only fire would be effective against that. But welp.. seeing frank alive I was like "okay, I guess not" 😂
The last three episodes were up with my expectations. Moreover, they ended the show on a good note. I was worried thinking either Jung juwon or gang hoon's father going to take the L, my bet was on gang hoon's father because that would set the "character arc" for gang hoon but both survived so YAY. Although Jung juwon's survival felt like a plot armor to me, that bullet should have gone through his skull but like, would he have died if it did? I don't think so lol. But if thats how it ended in webtoon I have no complaints then.
I am glad to see all our gang survived. Also that big guy from NK. When he was fighting with Jung juwon I could not tell whose team I was in because I was rooting for both him and Jung juwon. His story is so sad. Invincible power but still so powerless :'(
damn that post credit scene really got me curious. The old jerk got replaced by a bigger jerk. it's going to be messy. But at least we got a happy ending for our gang :)
AND THAT BUS DRIVER still has his job! I guess more fast & furious bus edition we'll get to see in upcoming seasons.
All I can say about this series is that it's the best, if not one of the best action drama I've seen for a while. A candidate for best kdrama of 2023. See y'all in season 2 folks!!!

The most unrealistic thing about this drama is that bus driver not getting any penalties for what he did. Literally tried to k-off entire bus full of people for two kids. Ridiculous
