I get what you meant by how the viewers may feel desensitized since I too was kind of struggling during some parts. Like you know there were at least a few truly innocent students (those who lived in their own studious world oblivious to the outside world) but at the same time you understand why the 2 guys were pushed. In fact I loved how they gave the 2 kids 2 different outcomes. One chose to take revenge on the whole school while the other’s focus was only on the ringleader. I do hope that off-screen the kids will get some kind of justice so that the bullies don’t get away Scot free (specially after Lee Do promised to listen to them).

He wasn’t cheating on KHM - rather he ghosted her instead of officially breaking up. He’s just another low life coward.

Deaf sister -the guy specifically mentioned in ep 1 that one of the reasons why he picked her was for her “superior” genes. He was hoping for beautiful smart babies. But now knowing that there is a risk that KHM’s future offspring could inherit deafness, he doesn’t want to risk it since disabilities are seen as a weakness by society (same reason why KHM’s own grandmother pressured her mum to abandon her own daughter).

It’s an interesting dynamic ngl. I guess Kdramas have made it part of their standard recipe to include romance so that they can get more viewers and most viewers are now used to it?

I personally can watch Jdramas with zero romance/ familiar connection without feeling bored at all but for some strange reason, I really need a “human touch” when it comes to Kdramas. It doesn’t have to be romance even necessarily - the main lead has to have some kind of human connection - at least be a single parent- or it just feels like something is missing. May be because Kdramas have 12+ episodes usually? I don’t know

The episode timer on MDL corresponds with the KST airing time with the local network. Netflix (along with some of the online streaming sites) then releases the episode an hour or 2 after the KST countdown.

It might have a similar vibe to Suits. So far the case of the day takes up most of the screen time but both the ML and FL have baggage in the love department (their own separate romantic/ family drama). They also have this enemies to lovers (or at the very least comrades) thrope vibe.
