I love how we came full circle with Sa Eon's story. We first got to see him in action as Baek SE- Spokesperson who also moonlighted as a Hostage Negotiator to save hostages from Argan.....and by the end of the series we got to meet HIM again- still lethal but now more visibly human โค๏ธ
*** (I said that he was moonlighting in ep 1 because his team's conversation implied that it's not really the Spokesperson's job to handle negotiations but even the government trusts his expertise over those who are supposed to handle the negotiation)
Iโm wondering ๐ค looks like they missed the genre tag plus Iโm sure the last episode wonโt disappoint
Haha TMAI- you are correct! What I personally have noticed is that sometimes i miss certain subtle hints during the first watch because I'm too immersed with what they are saying but when you watch again, certain things become so obvious ๐
Then again, seeing some of the complaints on MDL really makes me wonder if we are watching the same show- like you don't even need subtitles to understand certain plot points that have complaints ๐ ๐ ๐
I really hate the last episode trope of one of the lovers has to disappear for a year and never calls. I understand…
I guess they could have handled it better but if we look at SE's pov it kind of makes sense why he'd take such a terrible decision.
He was so vulnerable at that point. The name he hated already was suffocating him...and now he finds out that his name was the main reason why Heeju suffered all this time? Right after nearly losong her simply because she was his wife? It probably killed him to know that he was the main reason why HJ kept suffering๐
(I mean based on the flashback, it looked like Heeju and the kids were finally bonding so if the accident never happened, her mum wouldn't have a reason to harras HJ that much. Her life would have been relatively more better. From what I know the dead son was her mum's kid so she would have focussed on doting on her little prince, instead of forcing HJ to get the chairman's sympathy.
One crash destroyed Heeju's life in his POV. He's wrong but for a cold man, SE always was vulnerable deep inside ๐ซ ๐ซ ๐ซ ๐ซ
It wouldn't make sense for the SML to be the dead brother...why would Chairman Hong abandon his ONLY son who was…
Sang Woo was the first orphan who met real SE in his masked form. It was Sang Woo who told the other kids about the house with many toys and that's how they ended up in the murder mansion one by one eventually.
The only reason SW escaped was because he got frightened when rSE tried to kill a cat infront of him. I'm not really sure why he didn't warn his friends but I'm guessing he got adopted shortly after that incident so he lost contact.
The show he has with Yuri is his way to get justice for his missing (and presumably dead) friends since nobody was keen on solving the old case.
Heeju's younger brother's incident isn't connected to Sang Woo. Just that since the Baeks and Hongs are neighbors, the poor kid was unfortunate enough to see the rSE by chance ๐ซ
And what did BAEK SA EON do in the end if not be the presidential spokesperson??? Hate it when they go with that…
He's a negotiator- they said it at the end. We basically came full circle with his story.
The series started with Paek Sa Eon negotiating with Argan to save hostages (eventhough it wasn't part of his SP role) and now in his new life he does the same thing.
New house- he wanted to start a new life so this could have been part of what he wanted? An ordinary (yet beautiful) house for their new ordinary life ๐
Iโm wondering ๐ค looks like they missed the genre tag plus Iโm sure the last episode wonโt disappoint
I personally loved the ending....they served (and really really served)!๐คญ๐คญ๐คญ
We got their ordinary life and extra ordinary life too. Annnnd there aren't any loose ends either. Even the mum's arc was handled tastefully.
About the rediculous plot point I guess in a way it's understandable since the particular location was only mentioned once at the beginning of ep 1 so most wouldn't recall it but at the same time it isn't entirely rediculous since we did get hints that SE was familiar of this kind of area (i'm trying not to spoil it in case you haven't watched ep 12 yet).
Then again since I read the novel bits of that particular part of the story I might be bias - it's like having a cheat sheet๐ Perhaps they could have elaborated abit more on why that particular location was selected for non novel fans since in the novel it was explained.
Overall though it was satisfying โค๏ธ
Sounds like your Saturday was exhausting!!!But would love to hear your opinion once you get a chance to catch up ๐
I just was waiting that the second male lead would be the female lead's dead brother. I thought he lost his memories…
It wouldn't make sense for the SML to be the dead brother...why would Chairman Hong abandon his ONLY son who was barely 2 years old when he had bargaining power over the Baeks?
He could have been the twin but he cannot be HeeJoo's brother
I mean, why include the war story? How does it connect to the story? [ 7/10 ]
It was in the novel. It was explained more in detail - he made a deal with the government or something like that (can't recall now). Heeju wasn't supposed to go to Argon. But temptation got in the way๐
umm comment section is giving bipolar. but personally if u enjoyed extraordinary you, u will enjoy this. extraordinary…
He's a serial kidnapper/ killer.
Except for the last timeline, Sol just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. That's why in the final timeline he had no interaction with her at all.
If we bring fate into the conversation, it's actually Sunjae whose fate is tangled with the driver since Sunjae will always act as an obstactle even if it's done unconsciously like in the final timeline.

Exactly ๐๐๐
Most dramas would fall apart if you take them too seriously ๐ ๐ ๐
Personally I feel like we might get at least 20 mins of their happily ever after. I mean, they have been pushing "Heeju's ordinary life " theme really hard during the last couple of episodes. It would be terrible if they don't folow up on it properly๐
Even the novel had that criticism previously if I'm not mistaken since the novel officially ended after they reunited and the writer later added bonus chapters (I'm not very sure if these chapters were published in a separate book though).
So the screenwriter would be mindful of this right by not repeating the same mistakes?

We need judge Kang Bitna on their side
