Seems like haters are working overtime??? I have seen atleast 10 MDL accounts in recent reviews which were created…

We need people like you around here more often, the delulus pop out of nowhere fast and plenty these days.
The power of social media! Honestly even I didn't consider checking out the map until somebody brought it up in the previous comments.

Guess it's a good lesson for everybody to not to trust the subs always.

It's been a weekly nightmare since the show got popular honestly.

I'm curious to see how this will unfold honestly. The mistranslation brought up a lot of concerns in the end (excluding the whole propoganda agenda). The answer was staring at us all along but we missed it.

There are two issues: 1. You can absolutely mention war and conflict zones in dramas but they have to be accurate.…
It's probably Netflix because MBC doesn't add subs in their broadcast. Besides Netflix has a notorious history for messing with translations (though not this big).

Yoo Yeon Seok's Instagram post, Hong Hee Joo's real rival is no one else but Park Do Jae
Heeju did admit to PDJ in the prison scene that he was SE's work wife after all 🤣

Seems like it.

This is a good lesson for Netflix honestly. They are way too lax with the translations. I didn't realize they were messing with the subs until I rewatched LR on it.

Can't believe they dropped the ball on this one thoughšŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

Today has been a fun experiment. Always research before you join a bandwagon šŸ‘.

1. Was it worth cursing, harrasing viewers, and down rating a show that in the end was supporting (intentionally or not?) your cause all along?

2. How do you feel about yourself now?

Free your minds first guys before trying to free anyone else no matter how noble your cause is.

(The mistranslation is true at least based on the backdrops- if you use google lens on the news banner, it clearly says "kidnapping by Izmael militants". They still could have used better names but this did bring up an interest point in the end about trusting the media blindly)

***
Edit: what I should have said is "misinterpretation" and not "mistranslation". The subs are apparently translated correctly but the way NF has uploaded them can be interpreted ambiguously (NF ruining context as usual).

Guess there's more to the contravery if this comment is true (i didn't fact check).

In a global sense, it does make more sense why they would go down that route as a marketing tactic/ raise awareness (assuming the comment is true) but still would have been better if they didn't bring it up at all though (intentionally or unintenionally)

What was the deal made between Chairman Paik and Hong?
If Chairman Hong drops his case (the accident), the Hongs will get a free pass to get anything they want from the Baeks- no exceptions.

That's the reason why SE's parents had to agree with switching the brides eventhough the suggestion sounded rediculous to them.

The only reason why Ch. Hong accepted it was because ruining Ch. Baek will lead to Ch. Hong's bankruptcy, futher ruining his own vulnerable family.

So we figured out what the whispering was about… and it was indeed disappointing. The punishment he decided…
His disappearance is in character with the ML though. His "cold, calculating, and rational" demeanor was always a faƧade. He was already heart broken to find out that marrying HJ, put her into a new prison. Even if it's not his fault at all, he's bound to feel guilty specially since the Hongs never got justice for the son's death, In Ah's disability, and Heeju's hellish life.

In his pov, if the switch and accident never happened, Heeju's life with the Hongs would have been so much better/ her mum wouldn't have forced HJ to get the chairman's sympathy since she already gave him a son. His decision was poor and the plot could have handled his disappearance better, but it's not really that surprising either.

Exactly- totally agree with what you said.

It's a few seconds so crucifying the entire drama over it isn't really worth it. But hopefully everybody involved (both the drama's team and viewers) handle it professionally since it is a sensitive topic.

MDL and serious topics are 2 passing trains honestly

It's disappointing to see how the issue is being handled but I guess knowing how toxic MDL can be, I'm surprised it's not worse.

If you find it distressing, I would suggest skipping between 01:01:18 - 01:01:27 to avoid the names in question or skip to 01:02:00 if you want to avoid the whole scene.šŸ™ˆ

Edit: just saw there was another reply!

Boy did MDL change within a few hours.

TBF one drama (specially barely 15 seconds) isn't going to cause world peace or make the IRL situation worse.

If the scene truly caused distress, there are way better ways to deal with this than resorting to name calling/ smiting everybody to hellšŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Violance against violance never helped anybody. It's a serious conversation that should be handled respectfully.
