SE is too traumtised to think rationally- specially where HeeJu is concerned ๐
You do have a point and even in the novel, there was this scene that supports your comment that I wish they included.
Basically in the novel SE fakes his death before disappearing (heeju doesn't know that he faked it) but shortly before these events, SE gives a criptic farewell speech to Heeju that basically tells her to move forward with her life even if he is no longer there but not to think of him eventually (my paraphasing is poor btw- it was written nicely but i can't find it atm).
I guess they wanted to replace this scene with the "I'll find you" quote we got in the drama because in the novel, SE's life first starts to unravel because the kidnapper released several 18+ voice recordings he had captured between SE and 406 making it look like SE was a cheating, fowl mouthed ass who should not be representing the country. Since this wasn't an option they can use in the drama, guess they had to deviate from it completely.
Iโm wondering ๐ค looks like they missed the genre tag plus Iโm sure the last episode wonโt disappoint
TMAI- i just woke up a short while ago and MDL is on fire.
Honestly i didn't even notice the Izmael and Paletino reference much since I was busy focussing on Heeju's reactions.
Idk though....is it from the novel? Not really sure since I only recall them mentioning Argan (then again i skipped alot of sections to avoid spoilers so who knows what i missed).
Dropping the whole drama over this is abit of an exaggeration IMO unless you truly feel uncomfortable. I mean some comments didn't even sound like they knew what they were talking about but were just there to stir the pot?
It is a bold choice though if that was truly the writer's intension. Could have used less noticable names. I guess at worst Netflix/ MBC might delete that scene like what they did with KTL if the number of conplaints become too high๐ซ
At the end of the day, it's just a drama and as we saw in MDL nobody really pointed it out during the first 4-5 hours after the episode aired.๐คทโโ๏ธ
Did it ruin my viewing experience? Not really since the "propoganda" flew over my head and even if I noticed it, to me this is fiction. Will it affect others? It depends since we do have serious viewers too.
ready to watch the latest episode with my morning coffee, sweet potato balls, banana fried and some chipsp.s:…
Whoever who came up with the sweet potato reference was a genius honestlly- every time i see it, i laugh abit before remembering what it actually means ๐ ๐
Three things that pissed me off in episode 12:- did the writer really have to pull out the cliche African continent…
PSE was an international war correspondent while he was working at HBC years ago and he's been negotiating with Argan even during his time at BH so it's not really a new situation for him.
They could have toned down on the Rambo style though or add make it more obvious that there are more trained soldiers like in the novel instead of making it look like a solo mission.
from my understanding because of some comments, him leaving and the war thing was in the novel. but like could…
They could have removed it or better yet explained SE's involvement better like in the novel. Think if they had a few more minutes or one more episode, that bit could have been managed better?
But I wouldn't crucify the scene completely ๐ SE leaving Korea due to self loathing is very him- people tend to forget how volatile he gets where Heeju is concerned๐
Yu Ri and Sang U's relationship went from 0-100 real quick. Could have add some scenes about it. Also, papa Baek's…
Papa Baek is a politician- bro probably hoped his crocodile tears can help him win the election still since technically his only fault in the original case is being ignorant and keeping quiet but fortunately 97% saw through him.
(We've had similar candidates like him from where I come from so honestly his character is so realistic).
Yu Ri and San Woo's relationship was quite fast but i guess there have been marriages after dating 6-9 months i guess (though personally it would have been better to announce something else i guess).
The only part I hate is giving her mom a redemption arc. The whole Hong family thing is frustrating because it…
HeeJoo is torturing her mum in her own way though. She doesn't disclose where she even lives.
As somebody who used to have so much control over HeeJu, this must hurt her alot. Specially knowing what a close bond HeeJu has with her father (or even the fact that her relationship with even In Ah is better than what she gets).
I'd be more terrified for the assailant than pregnant Heeju- she's trully a bomb ๐ชLove the idea of a SE/PDJ…
We can always hope that Netflix might see the potential of the characters and option for a second season I guess๐
The characters have so much potential๐ฅ Based on all their roles, they'd all make a great secret spy/ negotiator team.
In Ah and PDJ would be a wild pair. Both are blunt eventhough PDJ tries to keep it cool so they'd certainly be chaotic together and yet with their shared past, they could actually develop into another wholesome badass couple ๐
Kinda weird to hire someone who pushed your wife off a cliff but ig he redeemed himself?๐ญ
Haha I get what you mean! You can't really call him a villain since he was a victim first. And in a way, it was his meddling AND his phone that truly helped Heeju and SE find eachother ๐คญ
I too love PDJ and SE's chemistry together. I honestly wouldn't have really cared if they made SE his missing twin (eventhough it didn't make sense since SE was visibly too old to be P's twin). Their bond is preciousโค๏ธ
On a side note, wonder if Chief Kang knows that PDJ gets to work with and SE daily again ๐คญ

Guess after his self inflicted exile, SE understood PDJ better? And the only reason PDJ came after him was over.
If Heeju can forgive PDJ, guess there's nothing else that can stop SE from getting back his favourite lackie. Besides they both had the same goal in a way and both needed a fresh start.

I'd say ignore the comments (both good and bad) and watch it with an open mind. BUT keep in mind what we have learnt about the characters in the past 11 episodes- that should help understand their choices better instead of being too critical? (Idk if i'm making sense๐ ).
It's not the best drama ever but it went beyond my expectations (dare I say one of the best I've seen in 2024๐) since I had mixed feelings with the novel's ending.
Hey got your notification! The fact that SW wasn't aware of a fourth missing kid seems highly suspicious considering…
Did you watch it? ๐
I'm so high right now ๐๐๐
Ep 11- loved how Mama Baek's idea of protecting her son was to lock him up- she may be cruel but the woman still had enough sense in her to fight her deep maternal instincts
Ep 12-......curious to know how you felt about it๐
A near perfect drama. If there was any big plot holes or things that did not make sense it was Senior Mr. and…
Chairman Hong had invested most of his funds on Chairman Baek's campaign.
Getting justice would be amazing but if he did go through the legal route, he would have lost all his donations to the point of bankruptcy which in turn would mean that his vulnerable family will be in even worse condition.
It's a cold blooded decision but he had to think about the living. Justice will not bring back his son to life/ In Ah's hearing. The losses outweighed the gains. That's why he got his "make a wish" agreement.
Heeju's mum- fortunately Heeju has not really forgiven her mum enough to trust her with something as simple as her home address which is good in kdrama land terms i guess ๐
Totally agree with you on YYS and CSB's performance- they were mind blowing homestly! I specially loved Heeju's character!

(Sorry for the long rant!)

What do you think about all this?
It's fun getting opinions on the drama since there's always something you can miss that other's notice ๐
Yes, my college days are long over ๐

Heeju probably lost consciousness from the stress of it all and exhaustion. SE was by her side during her recovery right until she woke up.
I too love PDJ and SE's chemistry together. I honestly wouldn't have really cared if they made SE his missing twin (eventhough it didn't make sense since SE was visibly too old to be P's twin). Their bond is preciousโค๏ธ
