Title Love's Ambition Spoiler
for me (male viewer perspective) the hate for ML is that he asking FL to lie again as soon as they file for divorce.…
I totally understand his perspective. I've been team "be together" since the beginning in fact.

It's just that he was too cruel. Being defensive is understandable but the way he completely destroyed their past moments was sad. I loved the sand castle analogy Yan used to describe their relationship. It shows that she accepts the fact that both made mistakes.

I did find it funny how he managed to delude himself into believing that since they both lied and he supports all her needs, they are on equal footing.

It would have been oooookay if he at least tried to listen to Yan when she tried to explain her true fellings. Afterall almost most of her actions proved that she truly cared about him and his family. Sadly he refused to listen.

I'm honestly just glad they didn't end it with her funeral 😭
I guess the Shens truly trusted the Sisters 🥲
Even the MIL is a softy once you win her heart.Nobody would have expected it.

Yes! The young actor is really remarkable given his age. It was so hard to watch the last few episodes but still so wholesome. Even his last scene with HM, no words were needed. His chemistry with Lusi was also awesome- specially the transition to “mum”

Haoming is a very defensive guy. I'm pretty sure by the time he truly realized her deception it was too late.…
I know how you feel. It’s the same with me as well. Like with the lamps? I totally didn’t realize that HM was fixing the lamps that were later used as birthday props. Even with the article, I completely missed this out in the initial episodes. Wonder what else we might have missed right?🙈

Everything is so subtly interwoven that it’s so easy to miss. Even the final contract sign for their new partnership -> instead of signing divorce papers, they’ve signed themselves into a more committed life together.❤️

Yesss!!! He is the king of denial!🤭 It must have hurt him a lot to think that Yan didn’t love him but he just couldn’t let her go even back then. He was already the black sheep - willingly marrying Yan despite knowing everything shows just how far gone he truly was.🙈

It almost feels like everytime he argues with her, he’s confessing his feelings in reverse. The article was really a nice touch. And mirroring their situation with the Chu couple? So much was said with so little. 🥲

Yesss! Hope you enjoy it!!!

I loved how Lusi managed to make her character feel vulnerable but badass at the same time. She can be funny, ruthless, and elegant at the same time🙈

One thing you miiiight find jarring is how from ep 19 or so onwards the ML's character becomes unserious. But honestly it's fun to see him loose his domineering calm and collected persona. The couple's masks are off so they can be as honest as they want- specially the ML since he has never had to chase after somebody before so he can be clueless at times🤣

Zhao Lusi absolutely owned her role ngl👑

You guessed right- it's about the kid.

Essentially the drama covers the consequences of losing trust and faith in a relationship and how to reconcile if you truly care about the other.

Title Love's Ambition Spoiler
Hi, everyone. Just started this drama after putting it off for so long and I've got to say, I have a few requisitions.First…
Major spoilers so you have been warned 🤫

Question 1- it's all partof a misunderstanding. Yan's sole objective for marrying him is for his....love. She was emotionally neglcted by her parents throughout her life so once she met HM, she truly fell for him- specially the way how he loved and understood her. So she was willing to purger herself even to be with him.

The thing you need to understand about HM is that he is highly ambitious and abit of a multi tasker. He did love Yan but at the same time he saw her potential. How by investing on her, he could benefit too. The issue is that HM found out about her secret but misunderstood WHY she did it (imagine if you are a rich heir and you have this girl who is willing to even commit fraud to marry you- what's your first thought of her?). So this causes him to deny his feelings eventhough it's obvious he can't resist her.
Aside from Yan's lie, HM has his own secrets too that he should have told Yan before marrying her but he didn't.

****
Q1.5- when will they fall out of love? They don't really fall out but rather Yan's heart gets broken by what HM tells her when she confronts him about his secrets. HM from the beginning didn't want a divorce. His arrogance made him believe at first that Yan would never leave him since she is dependant on him to achieve her dreams but once Yan cuts ties, he totally loses it (i.e. we get HM's desperate loser era😉)

***
Q2. Does HM know as of ep 4? I'm not going to answer this since it's more fun when everything is revealed. It will be revealed in ep 13.

***
Q2.5. They dated for about a year before getting married. My guess is that they fell for eachother pretty hard quite quickly and seeing as the MIL also kept pressuring them, HM probably decided to get married soon before things went out of control. Age wise he's around 32 and Yan is around 26 years old.

***
Q3. Yan did love him. The thing with her is that she's not used to being loved other than by her grandma so she is very cautious. Her lie also made things more suffocating for her since if the truth was revealed she could lose HM and his love forever. So it's the stress behind it that makes her seem cold.

***
Q4. When did things go bad? A relationship built on lies is bound to crumble eventually. Between Yan's lie and HM's secret, things go out of control from around ep 09-12 or so and comes to a head in ep 13. The main issue is that HM is unable to trust Yan's love for him even when she begs him to listen which is why eventhough Yan made the first mistake, most viewers judge HM more harshly.

Fear not though, he gets a pretty great redemption arc. He isn't inherently evil either- just a little too set in his ways/ a bit clueless. They are a perfect match honestly. Power couple goals.

that scene is 100% realistic. This is how many reporters act in rl, like they havent soul or decency. This type…
Yes- society is to blame 🫠🫠🫠

It really is a good thing that there are more laws protecting minors now. With China from what I can gather, the reports and media company can get fined significantly and if the breach is bad enough, they could get imprisoned too.

Then again, with conservative societies usually people can find some kind of loophole to get what they want if they know the right people🙃

True. It was unnecessary. It also makes things more pathetic. HM truly was naive back then (understandable since he was only 19).
I mean the mother must have been alive for at least 1-3 months after HC's birth so he could have done the paternity test earlier while she was around but didn't. Given how the sister hinted that HM is used to being cheated on and he didn't question it, if they really did break up because she cheated, he shouldn't have taken her word 🙈

I guess at least HC got to grow up in a more wholesome environment as opposed to where he would have ended up if the sister didn't lie so all's well that end's well I suppose 🙃

The notion that a child could be a stain is terrible but that's how vile society is.

Illegitimate children (and adults) have been looked down on and have been exploited for centuries- it's not a new thing.

The consequences faced by Haoming is also realistic. The father is strict because he knew that if anybody found out the truth it could hurt everybody (including HC). It's even worse because HM is the heir.

It's interesting how they showed how the power dynamic can influence a character. For instance, we can see how a notorious playboy like Liang has more freedom than HM since whatever secrets Liang has cannot hurt him/ the company as much as HM's could since he's not the heir. Just like how HM told the crazy sister she cannot be the other woman because she is the heir to her family's company.

Paparazzi are scavengers and most do not have morals. A story like HC's could make them a fortune in real life.

I rewatched certain scenes and episodes as they were airing. And here I am watching again from the start and still…
Haoming is a very defensive guy. I'm pretty sure by the time he truly realized her deception it was too late. The way he secretly glances at her don't feel fake (perhaps except for the time he gave her the ring in the car).

I keep going back to their private moments. Like the rare agave bloom? It's truly a special moment with him. If he truly didn't love her, he wouldn't have dragged her to his office just to see it "potentially" bloom🙈

And the way he quoted the jam article from over a year ago? Like if you found it rediculous, why would you remember it so well eh?🙃

It's almost like he is paying for her to help maintain his bubble- not just for appearances sake.

Do cdramas release special episodes?
On Love's Ambition Oct 14, 2025
Personally I'd love it if we could have gotten a special episode from Haoming's POV. A more detailed version of his inner thoughts and monologues like with Yan :
-when he first met Yan (as well as spied)

-falling for her (while may be potentially fighting the guilt to tell his secret)

-finding out her deception

-coming to terms with his idea of a transactional relationship

-resisting the urge to fall for her during their special moments like the time he wanted to share the rare Agave bloom date with her

-their wedding

-her birthday

-the two ill fated dinners and his desperate attempt to grasp onto his gold digger narrative to feel better

-finally accepting the fact that he was a fool.

You can never tell with cdramas. Having favourite side characters is dangerous for your mental health.🙈
