i have mixed feeling about this. main lead (Yang William) acting was just meh... only selling point is his good looks. The bad guys (esp Chen Xing Xu) delivers more in terms of acting. I did watch the first episode of the 2008 version for comparison, 2017 is mile better in quality technically (im not sure about the acting tho, but knowing that 2008 has Hu Ge in it, im pretty sure it has decent acting there).
One thing I did not like in this drama is the lead character. For a lead, being good in kungfu is not enough. Id rather have a smart lead than a kungfu master. I did not feel any character development for the lead, if there is any, maybe its very subtle. A lot of not so smart decision made by the lead makes me want to drop this a few times but i was able to endure because i keep on hoping he'll get smarter later lol
this drama stayed in my on hold list for about a year haha. the title literally translate to 35yr old highschool student. try no to get misled by the title thinking it will be comedy and funny, its the exact opposite. the drama tackles about the dark side of school bullying. if you are used seing high schooler being cute and fluffy, this is not it. The reason it took me a year to finish this is that its not fun to watch at times, in the sense that it leaves you with a heavy heart. not for binge watching because its depressing at times. still it ended nicely and will left you with hope for these students. 8/10
It's exactly same as Moon lovers story? Happy ending or open ending?
this is completely different from moon lover. the only thing the same is the time travel and messed up love triangle slash square or whatever shape lol. this one is much lighter. the korean one is heavier and darker i guess
if you have no patience for cliffhanger, stay away from this until the second season is out. i swear im writing this right after finishing 58 effin episode and my emotion is sky high frustrated right now for having to deal with a MAJOR cliffhanger!!!!
i didnt realize how much i missed seeing ha ji won, after starting this. She is indeed worthy of her title being a royalty of kdrama. cast were perfect. acting is flawless. unfortunately im not all satisfied with the story. i was expecting a more solid plot. the drama started with a very strong plot about hospital malpractice and the MC being wronged and treated unjustly for standing up against hospital cover up, then the story swayed from that plot and started to go other direction. but i do commend the emergency scene. it was comparable to jdramas in quality 8/10 for enjoyment
its a bad idea to watch a remake when you are too familiar with the original. for my case i was kept distracted by trying to remember each character and cases from the original show lol. anyway, i did enjoy this. superb acting from the cast even tho they did change a lot from the original. 8/10 for enjoyment
it was good, but i wont consider it as great as other says it would be. my problem with this is that, i cant stop seeing YGS as Mu Hyul (Six Flying Dragon). I love SFD so much that after seeing it, almost every sageuks ive seen after it just fell flat. Acting wise, two thumbs up for Kim Ji Suk (King) and Kim Jung Hyun (MoRi). My favorite among the cast is MoRi, such an eye candy lol. Some episode were really dragging and i skipped a lot of scenes. Some of the things that i really appreciate here is the production set. Comparable to SFD when it comes to details. I also enjoy how they did not hold back in showcasing the traditional song and dance of korea. They should have added fantasy in the tag since the MC here is the male joseon version of SWDBS lol
Weekend well spent! its been a long time since i was able to watched and finished a drama within 2 days! this one is one of those that binge worthy drama. It's like a fusion of Queen In Hyuns man and Faith (the medical part tho). Fell in love with Bidam in Queen SeonDeok and fell in love with him again here as Heom Im :)) HIghly recommended 9/10
This is my first hongkong medical drama. If you are sick of hospital corruption and dirty hospital politics, give this one a try. For once i get to enjoy hospital life without doctors trying to destroy each other (kdrama) lol. The character development is great. It has the right balance of friendship, romance, and drama. Tho the surgery scenes is far from japanese drama, its forgivable. 8/10 for enjoyment
im glad that this (second) season doesn't fall behind the first season in terms of comedy and overall enjoyment :)) Namase Katsuhisa is hilarious AF. I strongly believe that his wig deserves a spot in the cast line up lol. 9/10 :))
i have a mix reaction to this. what im gonna say won't be considered a spoiler since the poster already gave away the pairing for this drama.
I hate how they messed up the character of Pan (Imraporn Charada). I was actually rooting for her as the first open (female) gay character ive seen in drama, then they suddenly made her pair up with Fah (Phumphothingam Nawat). Like wth, it doesn't work that way in real life. You can't just make a gay person straight, its not a choice, its who they are and they should have let her be for the rest of the drama.
Acting wise, the only actor who stood out for me is Min (Techarukpong Chatchawit). Tho his character is a jerk, i really like his acting. He shines among the rest.
My favorite storyline will be Kluay and Achi. I felt their struggle and they have a really strong chemistry :). Im not really crazy about the 2 main lead storywise and acting wise, except for their looks (and hot body)

7/10 for my generous rating because of decent VFX
