after seing the trailer for the ABC version, strated right away. JooWon gave an amazing performance. what i like about this is that, he didnt started as exceptional surgeon, but rather it will take you to his journey on becoming one. love all the cast, especially the kids, they are just adorable. i do believe that the romance plot for the main lead were a little forced. the drama would have been ok with just a very little or no romance at all for the MC. the romance plot for secondary cast sure add enjoyment. i can say that medical and hospital politics drama were well balanced. if you enjoyed dramas with great character development, watch this. not only the MC but almost all the character were somewhat shows amazing development in their character. 9/10 for enjoyment (dont forget to get a box of kleenex before starting this)
so many questions left unanswered! after finishing the last episode, in the hope of getting answers to my questions, i went through the comments and just got more confused from different theories lol. ending is something that you can imagine yourself lol. and i would like to stick to my preffered ending. LJG, as expected delivers an amazing performance! one of those dramas that i feel were casted perfectly. all actors were amazing. action sequences were a little ambitious but forgiveable :) 8/10 for enjoyment.
Yay, finally done. Oh no where to start. Reasons I started this is (of course, obviously) JCW and its high 8.3 rating in MDL. Sad to say it didn't live up to my expectations :(
Ok, so what went wrong for me? First, I find it really dragging. It took like 16 episodes before JCW became the warrior he is supposed to be. I find JCW character ( Baek Dong Soo) weak, not physically but as a warrior/swordmaster. I can't help but to compare him from Jang Hyuk of Tree with Deep Roots (he was like my standard for a swordmaster). And then there is Yoo Seung Ho with his monotonous facial expression. I swear he wears the same expression until the end. I'm not sure if it was his character supposed to be or it is his acting that is lacking. The actor who plays the younger version of him (Park Gun Tae) showcased a lot more depth and variations in acting tho. Romance plot didn't help at all. I find the 2 main lead with no chemistry at all, at some point i actually wished that it just be JCW and YSH to end up together lol. Both male leads has stronger chemistry than the main pair haha. I find the female lead acting really dry. Acting wise, the older cast delivered really well specially Jun Kwang Ryul and Choi Min Soo.
Im also a little disappointed about the plot. first half of the drama revolves around Prince Sado, and then the other half about Prince Yi San. i dont get why they name the drama after warrior baek dong soo if it will just turn out to be a political/palace drama. Another thing that frustrates me and actually irritates me the most is how they drag to put an end to one villain. Like, every episode is like an opportunity to get back/finish a bad guy but they always let is slide. Not to mention this one particular bad guy that they literally tried to kill every effin episode LOL.
for my rating 7/10, only because of JCW, if not for him, 6/10
there's some good part i like and also some that i dont. what i like about this is the supernatural part. technically well made and it did not disappoint in its visual effects. acting is very solid, i can say that all actors delivers, no small part at all, every character has their share of weight in acting and the part that they played in the drama. the only thing i didnt like here is the female character, not the acting but the character she is playing. im not really a fan of weak cry babies. there's no single episode that she didn't shed tears TT. thats the only reason this drama stayed in my currently watching list for more than 2 weeks (coz i usually finish drama in 2 days if i really like it) 8/10
finishing this feels like a chore to me. jap period drama dont really appeal to me i dont know why, or maybe just the warring period dont interest me at all. but i do like modern time jdrama! only reason i gave this a try is oguri shun, didnt even paid attention on the plot, just stares at oguri whenever he is on screen lol. i might be bias with sageuks since i feel more at home with it or i havent find the right jap period drama for my taste. im open for suggestion from anyone.
took me like two weeks to finish this, i find it dragging. i guess im too old for school/youth romance. i literally forced myself to finish it just to have it removed in my currently watching list. i usually enjoy gender bender dramas, but i guess after seing bromance my standards went really high for gender bender. 6/10
finally able to watched after all episodes were out. bad reviews didnt stopped me from finishing this in 2 days lol. forget the ridiculous plot, ji soo is more than enough for me to stick with this. tho it didnt end as i want it to be, still enjoyed every minute of it. not even skipping a second. i dont get why this gets so much hate, maybe they missed the supernatural/fantasy tag. i still think that this is how supernatural drama should be and not like something like scarlet heart which is turns out to be more of political drama. i find it unfair for some people to find fault in its plot and says that story is ridiculous where it clearly states that this is FANTASY and not slice of life drama. 8/10 for enjoyment!
finally done with this. gokusen made me watch this since i was told gokusen was inspired from this. Compare to gokusen, i enjoyed gokusen more. what i didnt like about in here is that, they tried to make the drama light, that they just let go of some of those serious crimes that happened here. i was like, how can they just let that pass. what i hate i hate the most in dramas are crime that goes unpunished. i find the ending really weak. still a good watch 7/10
this is daebak! it may be 2 episodes long but it will give you the same satisfaction of a 16-episode drama. if you're a big fan of kdramas, you will enjoy all the kdramas reference they made here :) we need more of this. highly recommended 10/10 for enjoyment!
one of those drama that you just cant find bad things to say. another A+ drama from Kimura Takuya. You wont find Emergency life saving scenes here but they do have different medical cases for each episode. drama and medical were well balanced. and can i just say that the musical score is something that only jdrama can pull off. solid 9/10
im gonna be honest, i was quite dissapointed with this, or just maybe i expected too much? after the first episode, i was like, "this is daebak" the MC is a serius kung fu fighting master. then it stops there. i think 30 min drama is too short, there were some episode that nothing significant that happened. the whole drama spins in one single plot, and i was expecting that since its a police/crime genre it will be semi-episodical. the ending didnt even make it up for my thirst for raw action sequences. technically well made. one of the best in terms of cinematography and editing. aerial drone shot were awesome, and they used lots of outdoors locations! i find the acting dry or maybe its their character their portraying. 8/10
one of the best action drama in korean tv. BUT the plot is total crap. let me tell you why. any rookie detective can actually solve the serial killing happening in this drama. one thing that any detective do in investigating a serial case is first find the connection in every victim. how is that no one has ever found the connection that all the victim were family of a murderer? and if they investigated thoroughly it will also reveal that all those murderer that went to prison were prosecuted by the same person. and to think that Oh Gu Tak is supposed to be a famous detective, how the hell did he missed that connection?! although the plot put me off, i cant deny that the action sequences in this drama is one of the best. 8/10 because of the stupid plot
