Do I watch the movie or the drama first? Or does it not matter?
I think the movie is just a short version of the drama, so in the end it doesn't matter - it contains the same story, except the movie works as a shorter version.
(I haven't seen the movie, though, only the drama - so please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).
please tell me i wasn't the only one who was thinking at end of ep 6 OMG its just a fish you dont need to be that…
There's definitely more to it, than just 'a goldfish'. It was her pet yes, but sometimes we get attached to things and then it's hard to see them gone. A pet, an object, etc.
I guess she might be channeling some sadness into the fish's death, but hey, like you guys even said, it's still her pet - doesn't make it less so just because it's a little fish :P I definitely sensed that Liang Liang was channeling some other things into that crying moment. She's always so cheerful and positive about everything, it's rare to see her breakdown like that.
My only ~thing with this drama so far is that every single twist and machination feels unexceptional. There's no element of surprise, so far. Doesn't mean I'm not enjoying it, it's just that I feel like I've seen every single one of these plots on other dramas of this genre.
And seriously, makjang should be added as a genre here on MDL. :)
I'm glad you talked about Boys Over Flowers as love triangle because Hana Yori Dango in my opinion, and you can…
I get and respect your opinion :) I just think that after a certain point in time, she was no longer thinking of Rui as a guy she was in love with, not like she did with Tsukasa; where even though they hurt each other sometimes, I think she never stopped caring for him, and being in love with him. I guess their journey is also much more built and consistent because there isn't exactly a love triangle in Hanadan - Rui was not, in my perspective, at the same level in terms of feelings and emotional baggage to Makino, like Tsukasa was.
And in BOF (the subject of the article that made me think of this) they always had Ji-hoo at the same level as Jun-pyo, thus creating and dragging said love triangle - which I hated.
But I get your point of view, it's all a matter of taste :)
I'm glad you talked about Boys Over Flowers as love triangle because Hana Yori Dango in my opinion, and you can disagree with me it's okay, is not. After a certain part of it, anyways.
Makino might have had a crush on Rui in the earlier stages, but in the end there was no real competition for Tsukasa there. She was never in love with Rui like she was with Tsukasa. Even if Rui developed romantic feelings for her later on (season 2, perhaps?) she was already way over any crush she might have had. I still think their friendship is awesome though. Thats why, perhaps, I don't like what BOF did: it was love triangle all along. And that's not what it was about, after a certain point in the story.
Again, this was an interesting article and I hope I don't offend anyone with my words. I just think that BOF didn't quite get, and then ended up exaggerating, the Rui/Makino relationship.
i just realized Kim Bum is Taedo T^T means he's not the lead role ? !! aish I didn't like the prince =.= I find…
If it follows history, then I guess it'll happen more or so like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gwanghaegun_of_Joseon
But I guess they can change things, I mean, I don't really know :D but I don't they'll end up together/have a progression like a 'normal OTP'. I'm just speculating though.

I wouldn't be so sure that Kwanghae is going to be happy :P

Thank you, once again :) I'll add it to my list. I just avoid watching too many dramas at once, but I think I'm doing it now :P
But I'll definitely check it out later on. *

Hi :D I finished Osozaki no Himawari! It's safe to say I wouldn't mind watching 10 more episodes of it (and then another 10). So good. Never failed to put a smile on my face and to make me think about my own life. Not many dramas or movies managed to do both things so flawlessly. Thank you <3
Any other recs (especially more Toma dramas!) please feel free to throw my way :)
The only reason i continue to watch this is because of Hyun Tae and Mong Hyun and also to see Sung Eun's downfall.…
I get what you mean. I think it's important to bring Yoona back at this point, but maybe it's too soon. She could definitely shake things up for those two. And for HS in particular, I think his mom coming back would be awesome to make evil stepmom go back to her place. Maybe he would get stronger to fight against what happened and not be afraid anymore. I swear, evil stepmom knows nothing but to plot evil against everybody. I'm even scared of what she (and HT' mom) might do next.

Heck, this whole drama is seriously amazing. In case you're thinking about checking it out: do it. Now. In case you're not: do it. Now.

And I do like Tae Do with Hwa Ryeong :)
But I'll definitely check it out later on. *
