This theme is very heavy. Human traficking was huge issue in China before and there still so many families separated. The parents meeting was a little heartbreaking. In real life very few old cases gets resolved.

well different tastes i guess... ZLY is petite so gentle and elegant matches her well, i just didn't like Minrui making her look like a grandma sometimes.

It got bad reviews at cannes festival because it was too long with too many characters and the director had the genius idea of making it longer and dividing into 2 parts. They had a whole year to edit it again and took the dumbest decision. i'm genuinely amazed at chinese filmmakers lack of sense. They have been getting bad reviews in international competitions for a while now for their outadated screenwriting but they don't change. All very stubborn in their ways.
