IMO, if Garosero had release all the media at once while the media was still firmly in KSH's camp, his team's response would have gotten 99% of the attention (at least domestically, in SK) and the result would be far worse than what I expect will be the end result from this approach.

I think so. Just monetary damages. At least that's how it works in the USA and most or all Western countries. I know from watching dramas that SK is much more stringent about defamation laws.

This was obvious the minute it was reported (yesterday) that they (GoldMedalist) hired dozens of lawyers, consultants and fixers organized into three separate damage control teams!

- How did they get the recordings? Was KSH illegally surveilling his ex-girlfriend years after they broke up?
- According to C-netizen sleuths, the audio appears to have been edited, rendering it inadmissible as evidence and subjecting GoldMedalist to charges of fraud

Civil. Not criminal. They don't want this going to trial. A trial means the defense (Garo Sero and KSR's family) would have the right to discovery. And that would give them access to KSH & GoldMedalist's work products (contracts, phone records, emails, internal memos, etc.)

KSH didn't do himself or his attorney's plans to sue his victim's family any favors when he gave the reason for not wearing any pants when that photograph was taken. He said, "It's because I wasn't done statutory raping my underage girlfriend!"
