On the one hand, they retain the high ground by giving KSH every opportunity to capitulate to their demands—admit the relationship honestly & apologize, while on the other hand maintaining a steady drip-drip-drip of ever-increasing revelations which undermine KSH's position and expose his lies. They are giving him an opportunity to save face and salvage as much of his dignity as he can.

It was her cousin's number which she used because her number was blocked. And I don't bother distinguishing whether it was actually KSH himself who gave her number to the media hounds, or his brother/cousin (the CEO of his company) or someone else who works or consults for them.
