Thank heavens for this show. It has decent writing and good acting, does not avoid the word 'gay' like it's the bubonic plague, and portrays physical intimacy between men without making them seem like two wide-eyed mannequins.
Someone should petition Takeda Kouhei to take on more BLs. He seems to have the magic touch.
This show might have some of the worst sex scenes ever committed to film, considering that its source material is basically half-porn. And it's not even so-bad-that-it's-good like The Room. Even the writing might be better in porn.
I might stick around, if only out of morbid curiosity. Plus, my god the men are attractive.
Machida Suited: 100/10 - agree :)The Kisses: 9/10 - rather agreeMachida finally agreeing to kiss another man:…
No, he didn't! He actually refused to kiss his fellow actor (and had it in his contract). Rumour has it that it was because he was about to get married. But I've never forgiven that show for the final scene.

Oh wow! My own feelings about the film are mixed: but I'm so glad to hear that a gay love story is doing so well globally. (Ditto on Heated Rivalry.) Hopefully, they'll highlight a sequel, and then some.
A new review! :OI just saw in the feeds that you posted this and got very excited :D"DO SAY: Dance is neither…
Hello! So nice to hear from you! I owe you a proper message/reply -- but life has been a succession of tragedies (and continues to be so), and I've only been active on MDL for the past few days. Anyway, proper reply soon.
As for this, I had been looking forward to it for a month, but came away mostly disappointed. But I have to recognise Ryoma's acting & body, and the fact that Machida was finally willing to kiss a man. So I gave it a better rating than I otherwise would have done. Though the Latin stereotypes still make me want to bring the ratings lower.
On dancing: yes! A friend of mine is an Udisi dancer (look it up!): and she has to undergo the hardest training for it. Love alone would muster nothing.
I could not agree more. Its annoying when bls make gay men act like virgins who want to hold on to their chastity…
aska, as a gay man, you have my complete blessing to hit them back and argue againt the fluffy BLs. As long as it comes from a place of empathy or curiosity, you have every right to speak!
well alright, but BL fans talking about KIss and sexual scenes all the time makes them really look toxic and fetishizing...
Well, I'm a gay man, and I'm rather sick of chaste "cute", "fluffy" BLs that take the "sex" out of homosexuality, and make us playthings for that part of the fandom which would rather see us as sexless dolls. That, for me, is fetishisation (by definition, do look it up). The last time I checked, gay men were sent to their deaths not because they stared longingly at each other, nor stumbled into each other "accidentally" on a staircase, but for kissing and for daring to have sex. So I will keep talking about it, and keep shouting about it from the rooftops.
This isn't a criticism, just an observation - in a lot of series from all countries, they try to make characters…
I'm sorry, if we are on a date, and you gulp down a glass of Morgon or Gamay in front of me like that, let alone one of Château Latour, I will dump you immediately... and rather take that bottle of wine to bed instead. :)

Also, what's with all the bangs? Does the stylist love Nancy Sinatra or something?
