Never knew he went to many ups and downs in life and his career, in 2018 he also almost quitted acting and becoming full time art teacher (he got teaching diploma too) because he felt that he failed in the entertainment industry. Recently Ma Jie (WOH) producer said in her interview that the salary for WOH main actors are very small because they tried to work with the smol budget they are given for WOH production. Nobody knew WOH can be so big like now. Hopefully in the future many doors open for ZZH and GJ, especially ZZH given his long standing career for 10 years in the industry without any proper recognition :'(

True! Rumor from the street said the episodes were cut due to budget issue however it shouldn't be impacting the flow of the story in episode 31 - 33 as well as the editing. The script and the flow is a little bit off here, but thankfully the acting from the actors helped a lot to cover the flaw. You can see strong performance from ZZH and GJ in the episodes.

Her acting is so daymn bad until I don't give a daymn anymore, one single expression for all... but I hold on because of ZZH and ML voice actor - because the voice actor is the one who voiced Lan Wangji in The Untamed. I really wanted to see ZZH stoic male lead acting here and his eyes expression.

It's an old old expression in ancient time , 相公 can be also interpret as the respectful name of a wife to her husband and it is not commonly used today.
I've watched 3 dramas with her, Yunxi, Ruyi and In Class of Her Own. Three of them have similar role, similar character design and similar character trait but poor execution. The good thing is people around her in those three dramas know how to act otherwise I can't imagine. She needs serious acting class and she needs to try different drama genre and different role otherwise people may get boring watching her drama and her isn't expanding her acting ability. Also I noticed, irl she's not young anymore, why she's always acting like a 13 year old girl in every drama I've watched?
Let's be honest, I'm watching this drama because of ZZH but gosh! The FL character is soooo annoying. It's unbearably annoying until I skipped several episodes and her is still annoying. I don't know it's because of the script or her acting but FL character was poorly executed. It was so poor until I didn't pay attention to her anymore and focus to her sister character, 2nd FL. Also what's with 24/7 red lipstick and her wearing the same expression from the 1st episode until the end?

I watched episode 18 with my brother and lol, you can't imagine his face when he heard WXK called ZZS "相公" in episode 18 hahahahahah. This one making me laugh! LOL. But did you notice the english translation is "my dear" instead of its actual meaning 古代妻子对丈夫的称呼 hahahahahah.....
Ah yes the famous episode 3! I had to repeat it several time for me not to imagine things hahahaha. And yes, not every sentence can be translated in English with the same meaning, sadly :(
Tbh I watched this drama because of ZZH as male lead here and I liked him here even though his expression is limited due to the character design but his character acting treatment is something. I like the fact he's playing with his eyes. Many emotions conveyed through his eyes despite character's lack of expression.
But when it comes to FL, honestly I don't get it. Is it because of the director or the character design? I didn't read the book and I had zero knowledge about FL character here but from what I see the character isn't well designed. FL is annoying, brat, pouting all the times, always acting like a 13 yo with her body movement and gesture looked like an spoiled teenager. FL is supposed to be a 王妃 - wáng fēi ( a princess), she's married to 2nd most powerful man in the country but her acting is like a 13 yo spoiled brat. Also I don't get the FL costume design, is it according to the book or the design is just so bad for a 王妃 - wáng fēi ( a princess)?
I haven't watched JJY in many drama except YunXi and Ruyi and all I can tell she's always wearing the same expression and it's over acting in many parts. I don't know it's because the script required to do so or her acting.
The chemistry between the leads is OK but let's be honest here, the interaction between them isn't that much within these 48 episodes ( I excluded special episodes because it's fan service). I don't know if the story focusing on the leads instead of other plot, would their chemistry still be OK?
The story is promising with female "doctor" in the world full of palace politic and full of men. With this, the character supposed to be smart, independent, outspoken and showing women empowerment, her love to ML should be built up slowly and convincingly so at the end the audience feel her unconditional love, her gesture supposed to be elegant but sassy but JJY acting failed to convince me. What I see here a is a grown up female acting like a 13 yo but good with herbs and poison.
