The biggest villian is stil Wei Qiu Zi (after 15 episodes). I would rather deal with a woman like Zeng Di anyday…

This is the first drama that I watch that is a real tragedy because the "happy ending" is with a boring guy. :-) But as the grandpa said, it's what she wants! A boring life. I think her true love is not the person she ends up with, the anti-hero. You can see when XL asked her, she readily agrees to the first question (would you marry TJ). But the ultimate question she can't bear to answer because deep down she loves the person she shouldn't love.
I've been waiting for Ep14, which marks the beginning of a new development in this drama. The main leads will have more screen time together as we watch their relationship unfolds. It's finally a transition to their romantic story ... she's now beginning to be aware of him as a man. I think the drama makes a good call to enhance the story with minor characters like Lili and others to add depth and authenticity to the story.

You are not the only one. I read the novel. I skipped the first part of the novel (only read for context). Trust me, the drama is already better than the novel in the first section. I also fast forward parts of the drama that I find boring.

It's not slow burn romance at all ... I think it's going ok pace... but I think the drama can do so much better if they had given more couple screen time ... I mean I can understand that they already made huge improvements on the novel in this section. But they can do even better :-) by giving the main leads more screen time together. This is tougher for the writer because they have to create new materials.
For people who are sampling, they only watch a few episodes ... they are not patient to wait for ep 14 or 15 where the leads have more screen time together.
