Oh my this is a totally different story. Perhaps it's not a good idea to read the novel?
Love Like the Galaxy ... for example, lots of nuances that you would miss if you didn't read the novel. This ABAY is another one ... is a big miss if not reading the novel. How the leads feel each time they do something. I also went ahead and read Love's Ambition short story even though it's completely different from the drama. I think I would have missed so much if I didn't get the intention of the author, who is much better than the screen writer.
And yes, that feeling of being let down is there if it didn't work out.

I still say read the novel ... there's no need to avoid reading just because there are people who are hang up on certain aspects of it. You will miss a good novel if you don't read it and just settle for the drama. This writer has other novels too ... they are also good.

And yes, a big warning that there is a feeling of being let down ... whether it's the screen writers or actors ... some just don't live up to the intentions.

Seven Tan is such a bright star. I really enjoy her energy and sweetness.
She's perfect for this role.

This is hilarious. Two men showing the ml how to hold the fl. https://x.com/i/status/1805722195416826261
That short one is the director.

I really hope there will be some good business elements in this drama. From the trailer, it seems Jin Xing will…
Yes, she will be the CEO of a new startup

yes, that's the one I read ... really good story! I just finished watching the drama. They also changed the story so I was a little disappointed at the ending ... I feel for you! Sometimes it's hard when you really like some points in the novel and they changed them.

Highly recommend The Double. I read all the way the end ... There used to be a link to the end with english translation.

This is a good point ... In China, especially ... I feel relationships are not really black and white. We have seen our Chinese friends sending their new borns to China to be raised by grandparents. I could never do that! But I think the cultural revolution and practicality shape social context too.

It's intense pressure everywhere. I just read a comment from the Korean director of Lovely Runner ... he said rating is so important because so much investment is on the line.

Oh no, really! Only for Love is not good from the reviews ... But they also said that there is no couple chemistry between the leads in that one. I didn't watch it because I only watch a few shows with actors that I like.

I think this is ok for me too ... it's real life. What do we expect him to do? She already got engaged with another guy. I don't like these extra relationships either but as long as they find each other at the end, it's fine with me.

I don't know how times I have seen the drama failed the novels in Chinese drama... it's all based on the director and producer. I think the only one that didn't fail the novel for me was Love Like the Galaxy. It's due to a good director.

I hope the director of this drama is good?

Maybe this will change in the drama too? Maybe they don't have a relationship like that in the drama?

There's bound to be some plot holes with the changes. That's for sure! The Double has so many plot holes but still does well because it's entertaining. I rather have equal time with the leads than in Who Rule the World - a lot of fillers for the ML when the FL supposed to be the main character in the novel. I think they changed the story so that XK will have more screen time. This is why I think it's probably good for the drama and more entertaining to watch.

But in the trailers, he's not serious like in the book ... they made fun of him ... see how he tripped on the stairs? :-) and other instances too.

I like him in the novel too (huge fan of this novel that I read other books by the same author!) ... But I think the new development translates to screen better ... now a days, dramas tend to include some comic relief ...

I think as long as there is couple chemistry and no plot holes, it will be good. I just finished watching The Double. They changed the plot, even made the serious duke funny, but the drama has good couple chemistry, good acting, no draggy time fillers, and happy ending ... everyone is happy and ranked it a 9.0!
