One thing I noticed about this director is his use of repetition to emphasize the point: My favorite is the last scene of 19-20: LBY said, "Don't be afraid. I am here!" This is a repetition of what he said when he rescued her before. It just emphasizes his devotion to her and makes her feel secure. In the last scene: two actors are in a close-up shot ... Here you can see the difference between ZLS's acting and Leo's.
I literally just watched it. She is so biased so I didn't expect her to say anything nice about this one - she…
Totally agree with this ... she is biased. From her reviews, I can tell we have different perspectives and tastes so I don't watch her youtube anymore.
Yes, Leo is a little bit stiff but I think for this role (again she doesn't read the book), he's good with ZLS ... I have to admit that he is stiff in some parts. But not the romantic parts. I do think LBY has very gentle eyes when he looks at CSS. It's what I expect from reading the book. After they get engaged, his acting skill will be tested ... That's when we will see if he can deliver the goods.
oh, come on! This is the reason I don't watch her review anymore! 😜 She lost me as a watcher when she didn't understand the WRTW and made a video about it. She spends a long time talking about fan tricks in WRTW. Who cares about fan tricks when we watch Chinese dramas????
The next episodes will be more fun when she becomes engaged to LBY. It's a new plot line involving a new mentor…
Yes, they changed the script ... I will piece together the sequence of the trailers 19-24 when I have time ... I believe the script is trying to introduce all the palace characters here

Yes, I believe the script changed ... It will be more interesting to watch. I do think this is a better way because it breaks up the monotony of showing the same thing (engagement period to LBY) many times.

Just watched the trailers 23, 24. Yes, it looks like the drama changed the novel. The scene with the 5th princess happened later in the book. But in the drama they moved it up to create a scenario that he asked the king to grant the marriage.

Well ... I don't know how the drama script will be modified. But in the novel, he makes her his fiance first. She tries to reject him because she's not worthy. Then she is sent to the empress for court education.

She is there because when she becomes engaged to LBY , she lacks court skills and lady skills to become his wife!🤣 You can already see how clumsy she looks handling these etiquettes when he reads the edict from the emperor.

You will like the episode in which the emperor does the matchmaking .... and how they manipulated her into a new engagement. I can't wait to see the part where he injured himself to protect her reputation. I hope they will stick to the book. It's very funny .

You will like the new episodes. Yes, she is being bullied ... but he and the older princess also help her. The plot will be less frustrating because she's not helpless. She's learning new skills. She's being valued. I feel very frustrated to watch her helpless. Lou just lets her handle all the fights without supporting her.
If I were reading Episodes 17-18, I would be fast-forwarding them to the next best parts. It's so painfully slow…
The next episodes will be more fun when she becomes engaged to LBY. It's a new plot line involving a new mentor (empress) and a matchmaker (emperor). It will be less frustrating to watch because CSS is getting new skills and love from her mentor. She has a stronger fiancé who supports her.

In these episodes, we can see that she's going to have a tough battle against the Lou family. Everyone can see it except CSS. Why? In her insecurity (worrying about not being able to find a suitable husband - Lou is the only one who asked her to be his wife), CSS thinks this is as good as it's going to get for her. She's a young teen. She's full of insecurities due to abandonment and lack of love. She doesn't know what love is. She is only concerned about having independence through being married to an easy-to-manipulate husband who will support her projects. But she doesn't realize that behind the easy husband is actually a formidable family. These episodes are fun to watch to see the dynamics of Chinese families. The princes showed up in episode 18 in which you can see the contrast between the crown prince and the 3rd prince. It's foreshadowing who will rule at the end.
