Only have watch until ep 7, but pretty sure it's gonna be up on my most fav dorama list 🥺 at first it felt like shallow drama with one case per-episode, but turns out it's very deep, complex, and quite realistic. Through subtle dialogue, narration, and splendid acting from it's cast, it gives more depth to the whole story. So far 8.5-9/10, will wait how the last conflict gonna be solved 😁
Well, MDL ratings kinda weird in a way. For example Jdrama generally get lower rating than Kdrama ir Cdrama. I…
Beside accesibility, Jdrama was made to fit niche Japanese market taste so MDL that mostly from international and western audience aren't their market, hence lower ratings.
Yes F4 Thailand ofcourse riding the coattails of it's predecessor, hence it gets big attention from international audience too, not just Thailand/Asia market. It also made to be more fit to international audience, the story was tweaked to fit more recent times, and easy access with subs also helps. I guess that's why it gets high ratings
I am on Ep 5 and it doesn't draw me. The only characters that feel right are MJ and Ren. I don't feel connections…
Well, MDL ratings kinda weird in a way. For example Jdrama generally get lower rating than Kdrama ir Cdrama. I think due to F4 Thailand has more international market, so I guess it helps bring in higher ratings. Imo ep 1 and 2 are great, 3-4 are ok, 5 is meh, the rest are hit and miss with more miss than hit. For now it's a 6/7 for me
Watching this back to back with the japanase version, all I can say is... this is a milder version of the jp version. Only have watch untill ep 9 of this and ep 4 of jp version. The characters in kr version are much nicer and less crazy. Even the house, the office, the sets are much sophisticated and clean in this kr version LOL. I guess the kr version lean towards the romance more and the jp version is more a game of cat and mouse between the detective and ML. Well even the poster of both could tell that......
It may not be perfect, but this is one of the most sincere drama that I ever watched. It may be a bit whimsical and absurd at times, but the emotions feels raw and real. The friendship between them is just so pure... Even tho it's old, it definitely is timeless. Recomended
I think you make a fair point. That scene was really scary and intense. Tbh I'm not really sure whether the scene…
It was very uncomfortable to watch. And that scene was a sober choice made by F4 Thailand teams, not just because of the source material. They could definitely take it out if they want to. Well as some people said here, it maybe was purposeful for the story and that he will eventually redeem himself after this etc. But for me, it was just too much. I can take violent, rude, tsundere male lead, but male lead who physically violent to the FL is my limit. I'm too tired to handle this kind of scene in 2022's drama...
Yes! I LOVE Hana Nochi Hare. HanaHare is definitely the perfect answer for modern take of HYD. I don't need to think about problematic things, because there are none XD
I’ve seen you only have biased opinion about how HYD did it better, and that’s all I’ve seen comments from…
Fair enough. But did you know I love F4T in ep1-2 and praise it better than HYD? Ep 1 and 2 was really THAT GOOD. From ep3-6 I realize that it might be the storytelling that just isn't my preference. I still praised on how F4T could make this story work in 2022 up to ep6. But that scene in ep7 was so unnecessary and a prove for me that this story shouln't be remade again.
The original story is like that. People need to understand and to accept that F4 is a license franchise IP and…
ep 1-6 definitely showing that Thyme going soft for everyone, but all crumble in ep7. Even if F4T want to show Thyme's regression and changing for him is hard, there are other ways and other narrative to tell this. This late in the game, Thyme's agression just too much, too brutal.
I'm not saying HYD 2005 is better. It isn't. But if HYD 2005 could make the ML not violent at all to FL, why F4T couldn't?
Ep 7 was it. F4 Thailand is no better than the other versions. There are no excuses to why they decided to include such violent agression from Thyme towards Gorya, especially in 2022. This is an adaptation and they COULD remove that scene. They definitely COULD make the scene less brutal. They definitely COULD make another narratives to show Thyme's regression. But no. They decided to include that abusive scene. Even Hana Yori Dango that was made in 2005 could remove any agression from ML towards FL, so don't tell me F4T could not. No, I'm not defending HYD 2005 (it definitely has it flaws and some part are intolerable now) or Domyoji is better than Thyme (He definitely isn't). But my point is, if HYD 2005 could, F4 Thailand definitely COULD. If this is the outcome of modern remake of Hana Yori Dango/Boys Over Flowers/Meteor Garden, I don't want any remake or adaptation of this story. Just leave it.
Now I know why Kamio Yoko, the author of Hana Yori Dango decided to make a sequel with different character and different story (only the setting of Eitoku High School is the same). Hana Yori Dango story is beyond saving to make it to modern times. Hana Nochi Hare, the sequel definitely a better modern take of Hana Yori Dango. Hana Nochi Hare is 100% problematic-free while still having the same vibe and breath of Hana Yori Dango.
I would love to hear from the director why they chose to make Thyme so violent and scary. It does raise the stakes…
Honestly, now I'm so dissapointed in F4T. That scene was very unnecessary imo. F4T supposed to corrects and tweaks the previous version, but they decided to include this scene is just mind bogling to me. Now that they include it, what separate F4T than the other versions? Almost none. They have no excuses as to why they include that, esp in 2022. Even HYD that was made in 2005 made a smarter choice to remove all agression of ML towards FL (no I'm not defending HYD 2005, Domyouji is definitely not better than Thyme). If HYD 2005 could, F4T definitely COULD made the decision to not include this scene
The original story is like that. People need to understand and to accept that F4 is a license franchise IP and…
This is a remake and they could do something about it, but F4T didn't and made a bad decision to include this scene. Hana Yori Dango 2005 was made in the home country of the source material and they made a smarter choice to remove any ML agression towards FL
As expected from 99.9 series! A really fun SP. I almost died because two of my fav actor are in this, Matsumoto Jun and Nishijima Hidetoshi 😍 Sugisaki Hana also really really funny omg, Miyama jr XD
Jdrama tend to have lower ratings on MDL that just how it is, it's biassed. People on MDL don't like Jdrama idk…
Yup, idk why but Jdrama deserve more TTnTT Jdrama that has above 8.0 on MDL means it's exceptionally good, above 7.5 means it's good, above 7.0 means it's good average. Meanwhile I have found Kdrama that are 8.0 on MDL but just average good....
