You have your opinion and I have mine. It is dumb to assume that everyone here has to have the same opinions as you. To bring in YAI into a discussion when he is not even in the cast is baffling. The ones being discussed are specifically those who are starring in this particular drama which is irrespective of YAI's brilliance.
Gahhh why is Seon U bringing out my red flag???π I normally donβt condone ultra clingy love rivals but I…
It's the actress. Props to her, she has made a pretty unlikable quality on paper to come across as endearing onscreen. Ha Yeong is stubborn, yet, you can easily see her innate goodness. She's going to be coolest partner to Seonu and mommy to Jun. Gosh, I wish she was the SFL in MR.
At this rate, Ha Yeong is the very epitome of efficiency - I just hope her magic touch works faster before things…
I think Seo Nu didn't always like Da Rim romantically. I have no understanding as to why he is being pegged a player. He must have been in a really bad space post his divorce and his gratitude led him to develop passive romantic feelings. At the time, she may have been together with that POS and Seo Nu, his hands full with being the primary parent, never acted on his feelings. He has obviously picked up on Ji Hyeok being oddly too caring towards Da Rim and that has gotten him marking his territory, albeit only because Da Rim requested him to play her fake husband. There was some truth in his introduction to her work colleagues. Tbh, I get why he may have come to like her. She's a lovely person. However, I am rooting for Ha Yeong to continue shoving herself into his life with her no-holds-barred attitude and help him get over his still lingering feelings of anger and grief for his ex-wife. I really like Ha Yeong, she's pushy, yet doesn't come across as annoying. She's sweet and would be a good match for Seonu.
SFL's family owns an art gallery. She wants to do something different by showcasing a photo exhibition. The SML…
I agree. But I think there's also an element of her having daddy issues. Right before she went to meet him for the very first time, she had been scolded by her indifferent and cold father. Later when she arrives at the studio, she cheers up watching him being so comfortable with children. Later when she gets to know about Jun, despite her crush, she still volunteers to pick him up. I think his devotion to the people he loves, first who she thought was his gf and then towards his son makes him even more attractive in her eyes because she craves just that: a devoted loving partner and loving parents.
KDramas led me to JDramas for which I'm eternally grateful. Slice of life is my most favourite genres. My favourite JDrama, Osozaki no Himawari is a slice of life drama.
Tbh, I am hazy on the exact order of the KDramas I had watched during the start of my journey.
Ooh. Watch the J remake of Nevertheless. You might like it more.
Gosh, I am a huge fan of KDY. I skipped everything in QOT except for his scenes and that of his character's wife, LOL. I also like the actress from some other show. I think he had been active even earlier than when he starred in AM.
JH doesn't believe in love so eventhough he has dated (and probably kissed) before, it was nothing serious- superficial…
Gotcha. I kinda watch those shows that I instinctively know I can rewatch. Gonna pass on DFF.
Haha, I stumbled upon MDL by sheer chance too! Everything I know about fan culture in SEA comes from reading bits and bobs about it here. I had no clue prior to joining MDL. I remember coming across mentions of the Untamed fan wars and I was like how do these people even get the time?! π
The ML actually never dated the other girl. They had mutually decided to play along because they were tired of having to answer the village folk's questions about their love lives. Yeah, people were still bearing his image from MMH in their minds while watching MC.
LR's fandom does feel like a community. Everyone came to the page for different reasons, yet stayed on for the sheer feel good factor of the show. I had started the show for distraction and not because I cared for the story. I'd assumed that I'd drop it after the first week because I am not even a KPop fan. LR had come to me at a point when I was going through a really rough patch. I had continued watching for escapism when one fine day, I realised that I was actually looking forward to the newer episodes. Just a few weeks back, I re-watched my favourite bits.
IKR?! Tbh, I did come across Full House first by sheer accident. I was searching up the OST of Full House, the American show and Google kept showing results for the Korean one. I remember getting annoyed since I am more of a rock music fan than sentimental ballads. Then, I came across My Sassy Princess on YT outta nowhere. I didn't watch all episodes, but the few I did interested me with their traditional costumes. π Then I came across Seo Young, My Daughter recaps which led me to discover KBS Drama Specials since the drama was a KBS production. Adolescent Melody was my first. Funnily enough, I had not even been looking for KDrama recaps and yet, SMD led me to KBS drama specials and AM sealed the deal due to Kwak Dong Yeon. He was a teenager then, just starting out, I guess. I remember the exact specific moment in the drama which made me go this kid is massively talented. Also, since AM was based in the countryside, I wanted to see more of the scenic beauty of rural Korea. I have a thing for long winding roads through greenery on either side, and the ML in AM had to cycle each day on such a road to get to school. π As far as I can recollect, White Christmas showed up in the recommendations. However, I have not been watching K-Ent as long as you. It's been less than a decade. π

Ooh. Is it any good?
I joined MDL after lurking here for years. (I am not exactly active on SM platforms.) I was in a bad place and decided to join on a whim because I wanted to be distracted. π€·π»ββοΈπ Soon after, LR happened which is when I started commenting in earnest.
Gosh! You did?! Hehe.
I totally get the temptation and have replied back a few times. For instance, I did clap back once to a comment on LR's page at the time when it was blowing up (I think around episodes 8 - 10) and was thus attracting a lot of trolls. I was particularly annoyed that day due to real life issues and that commentator's trolling was the last straw. π Most times I just scroll past because certain posts just end up destroying my viewing experience. The struggle was real during Motel California which had a flawed heroine. Almost everyone hated her with a passion whereas I found her relatable, LMAO. I may not lash out like her, but then my tolerance for life's unfairness is unhealthily high, however, I understood where she was coming from. Had it been an a**hole ML with a tragic backstory, I believe the audience may have been more forgiving because we are more used to such characterisation of male leads.
IIRC, no. It's not a generic good triumphs over evil show. I had first watched it during the time I first discovered KDramas, mostly through Korean Specials. KDramas were my gateway to SEA entertainment. Looking back, I realise that I had accidentally discovered some of the better, underrated gems before I came across the more generic KDrama hits. π
It's absolutely friggin' awesome. Its cast is basically a bunch of good looking people who can also act. π They have become big now. I watched it years ago and was very impressed. Just as dark as I liked my dramas then.
TMAI- I've been camping on Cdrama land for months now so going back to obsessing over a kdrama with 2 episodes…
"Taiga drama is the name NHK gives to the annual year-long historical drama television series it broadcasts in Japan." (From Wikipedia) They are usually around 50 episodes with around 50 minutes of runtime each. For instance, the ongoing drama, Unbound or Berabou TsutajΕ« Eiga no Yume-banashi is a Taiga. Most taigas never get subbed or are abandoned midway.
