Yeah, it'd have been better for them to have made Seonu her completely platonic BFF who suddenly finds himself playing the role of the devoted "husband". It'd have been funny watching him fend off Ha Yeong initially. Even now I feel not everything is lost. Seonu needs to let Darim go ASAP. Tbh, his affection seems more a fear of the change of the status quo rather than being romantically replaced. I sorta get that. The family that was his anchor is suddenly slipping out of his reach: with Da Rim's mother being in the hospital and Da Rim behaving out of character with her boss.
Tbh, Ji Hyeok is way more naive and sweet than he realises. He thinks he's this cool, unruffled go-getter in a world where love doesn't exist, yet, chases high and low a woman he barely knew yet fell for deeply. He can argue all that he wants about a dynamite kiss, yet, in my opinion, her casually being kind to a hapless mother had already set the wheels in motion. He has a soft spot for vulnerable mothers given his history. The kiss just sped things up to a whirlwind. π He had planned on coasting for 6 months even before he knew about Da Rim but has come around eventually.
Can you please send the link, if possible? I can totally assume him to come up with barely tenable excuses on the fly if it comes to taking care of Da Rim-sshi. Afterall, she is his treasured "team member". π€

There were flashbacks to Seon U's childhood??! Dang, I don't remember this. However, thank you so much! π₯°
Tbh, I don't want them to have a childhood connection. It would feel like a copout.
Exactly, they would have moved in different circles, even as kids, given their totally different stations in life.
Ooh. Beautiful take. They are indeed quite similar and fiercely protective of their loved ones once you dig deep enough.
The beauty of this drama is that never once have I questioned why Ji Hyeok is so deeply in love with Da Rim even though I hate instalove stories with a passion. Da Rim would return his affection in kind once she allows herself to. At the core, they are very similar individuals with similar values.

I have a question. Do you remember the episode in which Da Rim's younger self was shown in a Taekwondo uniform? The comments keep mentioning a possible childhood connection, yet, for the life of me I can't remember ever watching a flashback of Da Rim's childhood. All I remember is seeing her childhood pictures.

True!
BFY sounds like a drama right up my alley.
Wednesdays and Thursdays need to come faster. I think I have not been this invested in a KDrama since LR. Mondays and Tuesdays have taken on a whole different meaning since LR... *sigh*
It's fascinating how escapist dramas have become the most watchable for me in recent years.

Neither do I!
Gosh, yes! π€£ I loved the little sister in MMH. Very few females are written in dramaland who are both feisty and adorable, yet, not obnoxious.
For a moment I thought you were referring to the Wang Anyu drama, and I got confused.
I didn't realise that you watch CMinis as well. Your description of the drama makes me wanna watch it too!
MR is Moon River, the KDrama, and the SFL, at the risk of sounding harsh, cannot act to save her life. Apart from DK, nothing has managed to hook me in recent weeks. π€·π»ββοΈ I really regret not waiting, LMAO. When I had started the drama, I didn't expect to like it so much.
Not unpopular at all!!!π₯He's one of my favorite actors and I wish he was the ML too...π₯Ί"The Rebel" is my…
You have your opinion and I have mine. It is dumb to assume that everyone here has to have the same opinions as you. To bring in YAI into a discussion when he is not even in the cast is baffling. The ones being discussed are specifically those who are starring in this particular drama which is irrespective of YAI's brilliance.
Gahhh why is Seon U bringing out my red flag???π I normally donβt condone ultra clingy love rivals but I…
It's the actress. Props to her, she has made a pretty unlikable quality on paper to come across as endearing onscreen. Ha Yeong is stubborn, yet, you can easily see her innate goodness. She's going to be coolest partner to Seonu and mommy to Jun. Gosh, I wish she was the SFL in MR.
At this rate, Ha Yeong is the very epitome of efficiency - I just hope her magic touch works faster before things…
I think Seo Nu didn't always like Da Rim romantically. I have no understanding as to why he is being pegged a player. He must have been in a really bad space post his divorce and his gratitude led him to develop passive romantic feelings. At the time, she may have been together with that POS and Seo Nu, his hands full with being the primary parent, never acted on his feelings. He has obviously picked up on Ji Hyeok being oddly too caring towards Da Rim and that has gotten him marking his territory, albeit only because Da Rim requested him to play her fake husband. There was some truth in his introduction to her work colleagues. Tbh, I get why he may have come to like her. She's a lovely person. However, I am rooting for Ha Yeong to continue shoving herself into his life with her no-holds-barred attitude and help him get over his still lingering feelings of anger and grief for his ex-wife. I really like Ha Yeong, she's pushy, yet doesn't come across as annoying. She's sweet and would be a good match for Seonu.
SFL's family owns an art gallery. She wants to do something different by showcasing a photo exhibition. The SML…
I agree. But I think there's also an element of her having daddy issues. Right before she went to meet him for the very first time, she had been scolded by her indifferent and cold father. Later when she arrives at the studio, she cheers up watching him being so comfortable with children. Later when she gets to know about Jun, despite her crush, she still volunteers to pick him up. I think his devotion to the people he loves, first who she thought was his gf and then towards his son makes him even more attractive in her eyes because she craves just that: a devoted loving partner and loving parents.
KDramas led me to JDramas for which I'm eternally grateful. Slice of life is my most favourite genres. My favourite JDrama, Osozaki no Himawari is a slice of life drama.
Tbh, I am hazy on the exact order of the KDramas I had watched during the start of my journey.
Ooh. Watch the J remake of Nevertheless. You might like it more.
Gosh, I am a huge fan of KDY. I skipped everything in QOT except for his scenes and that of his character's wife, LOL. I also like the actress from some other show. I think he had been active even earlier than when he starred in AM.
JH doesn't believe in love so eventhough he has dated (and probably kissed) before, it was nothing serious- superficial…
Gotcha. I kinda watch those shows that I instinctively know I can rewatch. Gonna pass on DFF.
Haha, I stumbled upon MDL by sheer chance too! Everything I know about fan culture in SEA comes from reading bits and bobs about it here. I had no clue prior to joining MDL. I remember coming across mentions of the Untamed fan wars and I was like how do these people even get the time?! π
The ML actually never dated the other girl. They had mutually decided to play along because they were tired of having to answer the village folk's questions about their love lives. Yeah, people were still bearing his image from MMH in their minds while watching MC.
LR's fandom does feel like a community. Everyone came to the page for different reasons, yet stayed on for the sheer feel good factor of the show. I had started the show for distraction and not because I cared for the story. I'd assumed that I'd drop it after the first week because I am not even a KPop fan. LR had come to me at a point when I was going through a really rough patch. I had continued watching for escapism when one fine day, I realised that I was actually looking forward to the newer episodes. Just a few weeks back, I re-watched my favourite bits.

TMAI. DK is so re-watchable. I have already rewatched my favourite bits a couple of times. ππ€
