I know right?! Tbh, the drama has given us for the most part exactly what we had signed up for.
Tbh, I hadn't watched the trailer before watching the first two episodes. And when I did, I felt excited for the scenes to come. The drama never tried to be something it wasn't. For me, this drama is quite re-watchable. It has just the right amount of romance, silliness, and depth.
She is excellent here. She is portraying a charming, but inexperienced person, who learned how to be a hard worker…
I loved The Long Ballad for the very creative choices that other viewers disliked it for. I loved the main leads more than the second leads unlike many others. I loved most of the characters, even the antagonists! I loved the cast! If I remember correctly, none of my favourite characters died. This drama was my introduction to Dilreba Dilmurat, Leo Wu, Liu Yuening, and many of the supporting cast. Also, the action choreography in this drama wasn't topped before Blossom came along. I am a sucker for well choreographed action/fight scenes in historical dramas. Interestingly enough, this drama was also one of the earliest long form CDramas that I had ever watched.
Tbh, what works for me, may not work for you.
Cannot recommend recent CDramas because I have not watched any recently. However, would like to recommend two CMinis: Dominion and Devotion and A Dream Like the True Love.
If you mean Ji Hyeok, then yes, LOL. Not him dismissing his intense feelings for Da Rim during his amnesiac phase,…
TMAI?! Da Rim realised that pursuing him against his will was harmful and decided to give up after exhausting all that she could have possibly done. His amnesiac phase was a callback to how he had been before he fell for Da Rim and to force that Ji hyeok with his convictions and motivations to be with her would have been cruel to the both of them.
Come on, the writer might have butchered the main love story in the middle but they still had far superior chemistry…
They left it to imagination. I am so glad the drama didn't force them together. I'd like to believe that they'd get together in the future because he didn't seem against the idea of her becoming his girlfriend. There was an easy familiarity between them.

Tbf, it wasn't that complex of a story. However, I have a soft corner for stories set in the desert (hint, hint: Mongolian steppes) and the FL's character design was awesome. For more context, The Long Ballad is one of my top favourites and I absolutely love the main couple and pretty much everything else about the drama. So, the story itself drew me in. I had read about SWL and Angelababy not being the best actors, but I was like how bad can they possibly be? π I still don't regret watching it, but I'd have been better off watching the drama's fan edits. π€·π»ββοΈ

Exactly! Why spend time fast forwarding scenes when you can just watch the highlights? π I also watch fan edits to figure out if I'd like a certain drama or not. Tbh, I stuck through all the episodes of Everlasting Longing because of the story. However, now that I know better (i.e., I don't enjoy SWL's acting), I will just watch the fan edits of Shine on Me when they pop up after the drama's conclusion.
That scene of him hamming his acting was comedy gold and very reminiscent of certain idols/actors who cannot act…
Blade Man?! That feels likes a lifetime ago. I realised I had seen him in Hello Monster. He played a young detective if I remember correctly. The acting overkill with the ill timed wink in today's episode... I physically cringed, ROFL!

Hehe, I get it. IKR?! I absolutely loved how they fell in love. Many viewers hated the sister but I liked her. Even though I didn't exactly like her actions but I understood her insecurities and where she was coming from. Plus, CIL had Sung Joon who honestly is still underrated. CIL was so well cast. Yeah. I am gonna check it out.
That scene of him hamming his acting was comedy gold and very reminiscent of certain idols/actors who cannot act to save their lives. π It is kinda ironic that I started following KJY's career because I came across edits of his scenes from 100 Days My Prince wherein his acting was really good. Watching Beautiful Love, Wonderful Life sealed the deal. (The overall cast there was really good.) Thereafter, I realised I had seen him in bit roles earlier. π€ What draws me to his acting is that he does the small emotional beats really well.

Ooh, so Hotelier is decent enough. Good to know.
