Tbf, it wasn't that complex of a story. However, I have a soft corner for stories set in the desert (hint, hint: Mongolian steppes) and the FL's character design was awesome. For more context, The Long Ballad is one of my top favourites and I absolutely love the main couple and pretty much everything else about the drama. So, the story itself drew me in. I had read about SWL and Angelababy not being the best actors, but I was like how bad can they possibly be? 😅 I still don't regret watching it, but I'd have been better off watching the drama's fan edits. 🤷🏻♀️

Exactly! Why spend time fast forwarding scenes when you can just watch the highlights? 😅 I also watch fan edits to figure out if I'd like a certain drama or not. Tbh, I stuck through all the episodes of Everlasting Longing because of the story. However, now that I know better (i.e., I don't enjoy SWL's acting), I will just watch the fan edits of Shine on Me when they pop up after the drama's conclusion.

Hehe, I get it. IKR?! I absolutely loved how they fell in love. Many viewers hated the sister but I liked her. Even though I didn't exactly like her actions but I understood her insecurities and where she was coming from. Plus, CIL had Sung Joon who honestly is still underrated. CIL was so well cast. Yeah. I am gonna check it out.

Watching Beautiful Love, Wonderful Life sealed the deal. (The overall cast there was really good.) Thereafter, I realised I had seen him in bit roles earlier. 🤭 What draws me to his acting is that he does the small emotional beats really well.

YouTube videos do the job of distracting me. 🤭 No worries! I keep in touch with most people, including older acquaintances, through texting. Tbh, at this stage of life, I keep in touch with people if only they are also keen enough to do so. Otherwise, it becomes stressful on both ends. People get caught up in living their lives, so it's alright if they drift apart from each other. I absolutely loved CIL. So beautifully melancholic. OMG. Haru is on my to-watch-list.

I watched SWL in Everlasting Longing. By the end of it, Angelababy and SWL seemed to be competing with each other with regards to who could act worse. 🤦🏻♀️ Perhaps, they are not as bad as I think they are. During that time, I had been watching a couple of mini dramas with way more skilled actors who would never get to lead bigger projects which in turn may have sorta made me more annoyed at their bad acting than usual. 🤷🏻♀️

Not in the past few years. 😔 I usually end up rereading my favourite sections from my favourite novels. 🤭 It's a shame, I used to be a voracious reader. I didn't read the entire manga. What's "lavender haze"? Hehe, I sorta understand. With regards to dramas being timeless, it's usually JDramas that take the lead. I love watching older JDramas.

Most fansubbers now have many steps which unfortunately for me aren't exactly possible to follow since I almost have no social media presence. The fansubber has posted links in the comments itself. Great minds think alike, LMAO. Actually, I came across a positive review of the drama a few days ago and recognised the actors on the poster and I love them both. As I looked through the drama's page, I saw a fansubber who had painstakingly subbed it. He has done a really good job given the fact that it seems he learned to understand Japanese by the ear because there were some conversations and messages that had not been subtitled. However, you can figure some of it out by context. Given my basic level of understanding Japanese, I still need subtitles. I am really grateful to the fansubber because otherwise I would have had to give up on yet another of many unsubbed dramas.

I want the happy ending to be leisurely but not everything can be LR. *sigh* In all my years of watching KDramas, never did I ever think that one of my top favourites would be a drama about a KPop idol and his ardent fan given how I just don't care for KPop.
