damn the pacing of this drama is truly crazy.....I think the pacing is both its charm and its downfall for me...... cuz as a non book reader who knows no context it is an entertaining watch however I am struggling with an emotional investment, I feel like I am missing so many contexts that the show as an adaptation is cutting over and it is just zooming along while I am left going "huh" at so many things. I want to feel the strong emotions others are feeling
definitely must be a dif experience for those who are already book readers and big fans of the story, understandably so. (however i do think a show should stand on its own it should deliver all storylines well)

no you're not alone, I'm also enjoying it and I'm used to the comedy historicals like this where it's not to be taken 100% seriously.....as long as I am entertained it's good. and actually this drama has really good cinematography too

that drama is very very popular it's not really a competition for this drama though, as they are completely different genres and fanbases....many many xianxia watchers who don't watch much kdrama, and vice versa

I have seen cdrama with lower budgets before and never noticed such bad makeup, that is why it actually stood out so weirdly to me, because this drama seems like it has a bigger budget no?

yes I would agree with you on that! there are some times when he looks fine but generally I feel they could have styled him better. I think it looks better in pictures than in the drama......kinda like they made that style suitable for photography but less for on tv?? just my thought 😆
