halfway through and surprisingly this drama is actually getting more and more exciting at this point when other dramas usually start to lose their steam and get draggy

it's not a masterpiece drama for sure but for me it's really fun and engaging. actually doesn't feel like it's almost 8 episodes already......if you like the cast i'd say try it out, it gets better after first 2 eps

just to offer another opinion instead of "most perfect drama ever"......I will tell you it's overall decent with highs and lows. beginning was its strongest most interesting part for me then it got boring and repetitive, now in the ep20s the writing is feeling frustrating, but seeing where it goes :D feel free to join the ride

that is such a shame to hear :( she is very talented. I know of some other actors and actresses that seems to be the case w too and it is always frustrating. idk much about her upcoming dramas but I hope she will get the chance to shine in them 🙏

bai lu is amazing, it hurts to see her character getting looked over or hated on while TTJ gets all the love

I commented a while back that I felt her character arc/behaviors was confusing to me as a non book reader and few people agreed w me then but more seem to now......def got worse with this last episode sadly :(

i think they could've kept his complexity and a bit more of his darkness even w. censorship and stressed YXW's POV even a little more just so it makes sense why she acts like she does......idk it's just frustrating to see everyone hate on YXW and not understand her.....but you can't even defend her cuz it's agreed that her behaviors in the show is confusing 😅

yes agree with you! actually I haven't read the novel but I have a friend who has been telling me about it 😆 even still I could feel in the drama the way they softened TTJ......I started the drama bc I thought it would be a darker theme drama with lots of angst. so agreed it did get too fluffy/mushy for me, though I know there is still angst ahead but I just wish the characterizations were more balanced to deliver a better emotional impact

i feel the comment section here this whole time before these recent episodes has been illustrating my main issue with the show perfectly….(that people are now starting to see and comment on)…….

it’s all been “I love TTJ, poor TTJ, I’m so sad for TTJ, I’m rooting for TTJ, why is YXW annoying, why is YXW doing this?”

it seems people are here fully for TTJ and with YXW they either are a) confused by her b) lowkey annoyed by her c) tolerate her just for the heart eyes romance but they don’t actually focus on her much as they mostly love TTJ

for me a good romance will have you loving BOTH the characters involved and rooting for them both, trying to understand them both, crying for them both……they have made YXW's actions seem dumb and not understandable, and TTJ too pitiable and righteous so she comes across worse……all the pity and understanding goes to ML and the FL gets paid dust….it’s disappointing…….they should have written her better

I've been asking myself the same question.......I really do not understand the purpose of the scene. with limited time the show is dealing with it seems too random to not be purposeful somehow......I kinda hope it comes back around and they explain it and ae ri and ji hyun's behavior is not accepted but idk there is a lot to cram into the last episodes :/

I'd be more annoyed if female characters were the only villains here but tae hyung sucks just as bad even worse for me, I want him off my screen more than eun ji 😅

that being said i do agree the evil ex-gf character is a bit *rolls eyes* I could do without that and it is probably my least favorite thing about the show. they could have toned down her character a little

people can rlly only handle mentally ill/suffering characters if they behave in ways that are very easy to digest, act sad in all the right ways, stay "lovable" and don't really fck up or hurt people......

it's possible to believe all these things:

a) mental illness is not an *excuse* for behavior that hurts others

b) people who act out in bad ways still can deserve empathy and understanding

c) it makes for good drama to see people not just being cookie cutter after school special examples of characters struggling w sh*t who somehow navigate romance well and walk into the sunset completely healed

diminishing a character who is realistically acting out bc of his issues to "this is a bad bl trope" is so weird......they spent the whole drama showing this character has issues, did people really think it would not come to the surface like this?

yeah if you're looking for a more straightforward romance development then i can see this drama won't be your cup of tea

for me I am just here to get a glimpse into the messy lives of two people who have come together, it's like an indie movie to me.....doesn't always have to end happily ever after for me to be invested in the present moment :)

writers here are clearly telling a different kind of story w a different tone though......not everything will be an easy road to healing comforting kind of drama. this one is messy, has always been messy and will be a messy road until whatever ending and it is okay for some dramas to be like that too

I’m holding onto this drama waiting for angst to return and I do not think it’s bad at all but I just feel the characterizations are……. a bit disappointing to me from what I felt or expected at the very beginning

I know it is partly for censorship so I understand but I get kinda annoyed when an interesting morally gray devil character is turned into just a lovable pathetic meow meow simp kinda guy 🤡😅 with lss too I wish her resentments and bad sides could be more fully explored so things would make more sense. I feel the complex meaty sides got drowned in fluffy romance too soon and that the clam arc kinda sucked the interest out of the main dynamic for me and it didn’t go back. it's just not as "WOW" a dynamic as I though it would be

additionally in a drama like this even though main CP is focus I also want good secondary characters and a GOOD VILLAIN CHARACTER but the writing for those feels like a letdown

let me see if the angst will put some of the spark back 🙏

ajlajfldfds I am not the only who cracked then! I feel better 😆 they put some magic sauce into this show to make it so addictive even though it is a slower drama! and same for me, I can see this having happy, open, or sad ending......anything can make sense depending on how they do it so I am just ready to see how it goes!!

100%, once you start watching there is no stopping. the episodes go by in a breeze. and same for me :)......just excited to see more!!

this drama is worth all the praise it's been getting, seriously. w/e the drama does I am happy to go on the journey happy sad whatever. can't express how refreshing it is to have a drama like this that is mature and has a vision and artistic viewpoint....doesn't just feel like fanservice and something thrown together just cuz people will watch no matter what as long as it's bl.......the acting the soundtrack the directing it all feels purposeful.

haven't been watching many bl lately cuz after a while of everything being mid I just got tired of it tbh but this has got me by the throat now. BEAUTIFUL. go off korea!!!!!
