yeah agreed with you!!! i have seen many saying stuff like "well here comes the thriller thrown into the romcom" but i think this drama is doing something different with it. plus the show is doing a good job so far of mixing the serious aspects with lots of comedy still and i don't think it will ever turn completely dark and serious

i don't think this is going to be a normal serial killer/thriller twist tbh but i feel the point is more about you think sol is going back in time to save sun jae but she is also going back to help herself and deal with her own trauma from the past

this also makes me think it will be a happy ending

the writer for queen of tears is very famous, her last drama was crash landing on you so naturally it will draw a huge audience and many are enjoying it. they are very different dramas too so it's not even fair to compare. it's fun that so many of us internationally at least are enjoying lovely runner :)

ratings are pretty okay.....maybe growing slowly. looks like ep 3 got a 3.5% rating. for comparison queen of tears has over 20% rating cuz it's such a hit 😅 i think lovely runner is much more popular internationally rn but we will see if the ratings in SK grow more

its actually really well done how they are switching between the timelines and showing us each of their POVs. it's definitely keeping things so much more interesting

idk some ppl care about the effort, creativity and passion that goes into all the elements of a drama and not just about two men doing it on screen

she does cry a lot in first eps but it is justified and i never found it annoying, you'll have to see for yourself!

cdrama airing schedule is like a second job. if you blink you missed 10 episodes 😭😂 its too stressful for me

yeahhhhhh that is exactly my point tho????? the wider world of kdrama outside of BL has way more variety in roles and therefore it should be understood why an actor doesnt want to do only BL forever. that is literally all i said in my main comment so i dont get the issue 😭

no one said its a crime i just think it's weird ppl are acting like it's a huge disappointment to see an actor do something else. he doesn't owe it to y'all to be chained to BL forever. but if you don't want to support his other work thats up to you!

i don't disagree with you that queer love dramas should be normalized and that BL have lower budgets due to homophobia etc. etc. etc. none of that is the point

the point is saying "working in 10 mainstream kdramas is just as limiting as working in 10 BL kdramas" is just wrong and it is false to act like those are equal things. there are many many kdramas that are not defined by the romance/"straightness" of their characters the way BLs ARE more limited to romance storylines. beyond evil, prison playbook, pyramid game, navillera, hot stove league, racket boys, age of youth, the glory......does anyone think of those dramas and say "oh those are straight dramas"? no..........even though some of the roles may be straight but it is not the defining part of the drama.

the truth is simply that there is WAY more variety in types of roles you can play in the bigger world of kdrama than in BL and that is just the truth. i don't blame any actor for wanting to try those new things, that is all i am saying

like lets be fr serious actors don't want to be reaching 40 and their only experience is things like semantic error (and I love semantic error). welcome the new BL actors to get their moment of BL fame and cheer on the others as they move on!

on the positive side maybe some of these actors who go on could help change the atmosphere of mainstream kdrama to be more inclusive for LGBT characters
