no it doesn't contradict my point. most actors are not doing one cute romance drama after another which like it or not is what most bls are rn. they usually try to pick a variety of genres, romance and non romance, from thriller to comedy to playing a doctor in a hospital to a slice of life drama to lawyer dramas, the list goes on
BLs are always romances and as of rn they simply do not have the same variety and diversity of roles. chances of him getting to try a bigger budget historical drama in a BL is very low
i agree with you it would be great to see more actors taking on lgbt roles (which actually many are in mainstream kdramas these days) but i think mainstream kdramas should include more lgbt narratives, not that the individual actors should stay in low budget bls for their whole careers. i say this as a gay person btw.....feel free to disagree tho
this is a good choice for him. ppl complaining he's not going to stay in bls forever........no actor (unless from thailand) is going to do that. bl or not actors do not want to keep doing the same kinds of roles over and over again

no i'm not lmao i just said he keeps pressuring her to do it which he DOES. never said ji han didnt do anything wrong either which is why i said all 3 characters have selfish behaviors. true she doesn't owe him three years and even if it was selfish of her to agree to it w.o committing (which i never argued against) it is selfish of him to continue to pressure her and disregard her discomfort when she doesn't want to do it
ppl saying "well she AGREED to the marriage" to defend do han and hate on ah jeong is so annoying cuz yeah she did but he also keeps pressuring her hard even when is freakin obvious she is NOT comfortable doing it. he just pushes past all her hesitations cuz he wants his end goal. it's true she has not always put his feelings first but HE has not put hers first either. he just keeps saying "the wedding will go on no matter what" even when she has feelings for his little bro like. he is valid to be hurt by their actions but yeah no......acting like he has been 100% considerate of her feelings and hasn't ever pressured her and even guilt trip her into the contract is crazy
now to be clear I love and sympathize with do han too and as a gay myself understand the struggle and desperation ofc. but these ppl who act like he is an innocent perfect victim are reaching. all 3 characters are selfish in their own way, still good people who love each other but clearly they've got issues that got the best of them. they ALL got problems like!
feel like i can't really get interested and invested in ml......kinda feels like the actor is not so well suited for this type of role?? p sure mdl ratings are just based on whether or not something has lots of violence etc. not really thinking about maturity level of writing cuz shows like nirvana in fire also have 13+ lol def an adult drama, same for many other kdramas and cdramas
but yeah fair tho. I think lots of teen dramas still manage to have clever and subtle writing but i won't expect too much of this one and it might just not be for me, that's okay!

yeah for sure from seeing other gmm dramas i know it could be WAY worse 😂 maybe I got my hopes up from the teasers bc it did look like a different vibe to me????? might just be my expectations. regardless i will support the drama and hope Milk and Love will get to do something more mature (and by that no I do not mean it has to be explicit......I just mean maturity level) in the future

it is fair to expect ppl to not unfairly judge and hate on GLs. we all want more GLs and for the cast/crew to feel support. that doesn't mean we have to blindly praise every single GL as perfect and shut up and accept the crumbs we are given. this toxic positivity is just as annoying as the hate sometimes

it's true I'm not expecting something extremely deep and poetic from a teenage romcom for sure, but yeah i guess it is too on-the-nose and straightforward for my taste. I am not sure how else to explain the impression from the writing except that it feels at a really young level, like the difference between a teen novel that adults can easily enjoy vs. ones with really simple writing more for kids. idk how else to explain it.
