boys love = if there is more or less strightforward romance between male characters, now banned in China products but can be hinted like in Word of Honor or Untamed (both very good dramas regardless how you interpret relationships between characters but based on BL novels).
The Blood of Youth is not BL and not based on BL novel but in this type of dramas bond between male characters is usually very strong (and open to interpretation, you can see what you want and if it increase your fun, I do not see problem with it ;) )

the best thing about this production, no those stupid plots with jealous girls, probably because romance is not the point here.
It is a bit more complicated with her father but he is good guy too. The power play is gray area.

RuoYi is influential character due to her position and future advisor plus in next episodes she will have important role to fill. She is second brain of the group, very needed as the rest of supporters is not equipped to deal with the capitol power play.

there are some changes from novel as drama follows animation more. 2nd prince is opportunist as I see it. he may not give orders for some more questionable actions but he did nothing to stop them and he is active conspirator and power hungry from beginning (evan if his chances are low due to him being blind). He is just unlucky, lol! things backfire on him as he is not aware of all power play around him till is too late. At least he is more honorable and reasonable that Red Prince. I kind of agree with Marquise, when he commented that he is funny prince (as I understand ironic sense of that comment)

I think they started to make him better person that he is in novel. He is more gray character there. But he fits for emperor role, he is like current emperor, not good person but good enough for his role.

According to novel it was made up by his master, only true prediction was his death. But to some level it started events, I guess? it was this kind of unavoidable fate those stories are build on.
